Goooooooooooooooooooooooooood morning Fawlty HOUSE!!!!
Yesterday, I hoped for a day full of adventure. Today, I know to be careful what you wish for.
A tornado touched down in Queens last night. My wife missed being caught in the middle of this tree-rending people-killing storm because she was at school and decided to stay for the IVCF Salsa Party. If that's not divine intervention, I don't know what is. I owe God a coke, it seems.
Me, I went into manhattan and came back into brooklyn with nary a hitch. I was surprised as hell when my wife called me frantic at minuts to midnight wondering why I hadn't called her(I thought she was partying at a friend's house, like usual on Thursday). There are changes taking place at the second job, and unlike most times when you hear that phrase, I'm actually confident that these changes are for the better. I met my new boss although my old boss will still be workign there in a similar capacity, just not as directly with us as he used to(or perhaps more..not sure how that's going to pan out yet). Still, it'll be the same surveys as always and the same great group of ppl. I'm going out tonight, so here's hoping people are celebrating the passing of the storm and not staying indoors.
Let's see what today holds....
I was thinking about you when I read the reports. I'm glad all is well.

Hand cramps, everyone.
Online chat RP for about 7 hours yesterday resolving the captive situation, then jumped right in to consolidating, editing, and posting the final doc this morning. Ugh.
Shiny: Are there any rooms on the ground floor/basement that residents have use of for non-quiet activities during quiet hours? Ours used to have a few that people could use for group "studying" or D&D sessions. I'd think something like that would be fine for practice. Maybe those no longer exist.

It's funny that right after you did that, another player posted their version. Sigh.
Oh, and Hand Cramps everyone.

Man, that's scurry!
I'd love to see rain. We haven't had any moisture in about a month now.

I'd love to see some rain. We haven't had any moisture in over a month.

Not me. I'm fuming right now. :/
We're just one month left on the two-year contract with Sprint on her crackberry. She really wants an iPhone (she swings perpetually on the branch of iJobs as she's a Mac girl), but I refuse to have anything to do with AT&T. The rumors have been all over the map about them getting something on Verizon. But I also have a 25% corporate discount that was grandfathered on my Sprint account that just doesn't get duplicated that good these days (I think it's only 9% now?).
She can't live w/o her smart phone. Me? I could toss mine in an ocean for all I care (you guys know how much I love to talk on the phone - NOT). She wants me to check and see if our cell phone insurance covers a lost phone replacement (I'm pretty damn sure it doesn't or else everyone and their brother's mother-in-law's nephew's third-cousin thrice-removed would take advantage of that shamelessly). If we pick up a new cellphone, it's another two-year contract. Sure, we could buy the phone outright but we know that cost is crazy insane; which is why most of us go the contractual route and take advantage of the built-in subsidy. But let's say we jump ship and go Verizon ... she's still going to be stuck with something else and when/if that precious precious phone emerges, what does she do? And I'm stuck with this dumb 5+ year old flip phone where I swore I wouldn't replace until I'm employed again.
Why does it have to happen one month left into the contractual agreement? ERGH!
*takes deep breath*

Thanks man. It was actually pretty scary looking at the damage done in the light of day. Queens is the second greenest borough(I still think noone's greener than Brooklyn except maybe Staten Island, which is practically a forest in some parts), so the damage done by debris was considerable. I'm sure we'll all live(except for that one guy) and recover, but it's a reminder of how dangerous nature can be even when you think you live far, far away from it.
