Damn. Shadowrun/Catalyst Games finally puts together an official forums and I officially sell my soul to it. Doesn't hurt that I got "FastJack" as my avatar/handle.

God, I'm such a fanboi for that game. Even more than Pathfinder and Forgotten Realms combined.

AAAAAAAAGH! I'm so angry, right now!

I just got a new desktop for my wife. It was delivered on Thursday but I've been out to sea and just got a chance to set it up. Somehow, I managed to order the d****d thing without a wireless network adapter installed, so I can't connect it to the internet. The adapter that I have for our old computer won't work, even though I've downloaded the drivers for Windows 7. Stupid computer says it doesn't recognize the device.

I'm sure my neighbors think I'm insane. The air conditioner broke while I was away and won't be fixed until later next week, so all our windows are open, and I'm sure they heard me cursing at the infernal device.

All of this would only be mildly irritating if I hadn't had such a crappy day at work. I'm getting tired of being kicked in the gonads because of miscommunications, failure of my people to properly report equipment casualties, and the general lack of initiative and motivation they typically show.

Grrrr...

At least I'm at home with my family. One of my daughters is away at her first sleep-over...Not sure I like having to deal with another milestone that reminds me my little girls are growing up, either.

Sorry about all the frustration right now.

To try and help, does the desktop still have a LAN connection? Can you run a wire from the router to the computer at least temporarily?

Liberty's Edge Contributor

Thanks, Ashe. There is no LAN connection in that office (some weirdness with my AT&T U-verse install), but I suppose I could move the thing down to another room for the time-being. I'm online with Dell customer support to find the right wireless adapter card. That's a frustration in and of itself.

Yeah, been there too...

Good luck!

Thanks. Placing the order, now. I agreed to let the customer service person "help" me place the order, but it seems to me that he's simply taking the same information I had already entered in the order screen and processing the order himself. Would have been much faster for me to do it on my own and I'm not sure that his involvement will result in a "more accurate transaction" at all.

There's also that little niggling suspicion that I actually did select this hardware as an upgrade to my computer when I placed the original order. Still bothers me that it didn't show up already installed in the desktop.

Liberty's Edge Contributor

Okay...I'm about to fall asleep in front of the computer. Gotta turn in.

Good night, FAWTLies!

Looks promising, Kingmaker starts today. :-D

Huzzah for Kingmaker! I just DM'd our second session yesterday!

Yeah... it's like that.

Morning, all. What did I miss?

My allergies are pissing me off today.

Same here. We opened up the windows yesterday before coming down to Cincy for the weekend (the third of four consecutive ones) and her parents live out in the boonies. Ragweed hell.

Well, Veronica arrived in the City of Brotherly Love, and soon discovered that her visit was ill-timed when the sanitation workers all went on strike. Across town, Mark and Cathy were relieved to have finally consummated their desire for each other. Meanwhile, Daryl and Dwayne continued in their quest to locate the ellusive and rare...No, wait! That's my soap opera!

Sneezy. I hate September. The weather is beautiful and the pollen count is high. *ACHOO!*

move to Iowa, not as bad or so I have been told. Lucky me, and no known allergies

Morning, all!

Well, I survived the night without air conditioning. (Small victory, considering my lovely ladies--by which I mean my wife and daughters--have been living without that comfort for the past several days.) Can't wait until the a/c part arrives this week.

Anyway, today's looking better. Need to do a bit of reading as research for my submission to Wayfinder #4, wherein I'll be revealing a bit more of our intrepid heroes' history, particularly as it relates to their nemesis, Ashrii, the spirit naga, as they brave the dangers of Mwangi.

I love the Pathfinder setting.

Hello and hope you all have a nice day.

One suggestion. Have a Druid.

But it's more fun if you replace the druid with a slave girl Bar/Rog. Raging Sneak Attack FTW! :)

Sorry about the A/C issue. Why don't you just run backwards around the world and turn time back to cooler weather? Y'know like you did in that Superman movie. ;)

Dark Archive

Okay. Who would win. Chuck Norris vs. Bruce Lee vs. Paris?

Liberty's Edge Contributor

Heh. I could do the backward running thing, but it's very taxing and I'm trying to keep my sights on the future.

Mac, your question isn't really fair, because I'd just end up dominating their feeble minds and having them fight each other for my amusement. Besides...there's the problem with Bruce being dead and all...so I'm back to that whole altering time problem, again.

Ummm...yeah. I did that once. I don't recommend it. Very hard to clean up afterward and what you're left with is rather boring.

Making severe, mind-shattering alterations, however.... Ahh, good times.

I can't make severe mind shattering alterations with out breaking the amendment against cruel and unusual punishment.

Lord.....I want to peel my boss's face off with a rusty potato peeler.

Scarab Sages

Hmmmm.....shattered brainnnnssss = finger food.

Liberty's Edge Contributor

Apparently shattered brains come with a side of face chips.

Then all we'd need is a good dip....maybe one made of blood, spinal fluid, and some eyeball jelly.

AWRIGHT Folks- Time for me to get out of here. Hope to be picking up one comic and one new initiative tracker today from manhattantown- I'd do it tomorrow but I'm not sure if I"m going to the second meeting for my job, my weekly game, or what. Here's hoping everyone has a WONDERFUL day.

Once you get going it is easier and way cheaper to just build your own terrain. Let me know if you need any ideas.

I've been meaning to get back into putting Gundam kits together again. They really do help to get my mind off of things. I'm thinking I'll pick up a few more kits at next week's con and see if I can get into it again.

ANd with that, I'm off for the weekend, folks. Here's hoping everyone has an AWESOME weekend!!!

Tomorrow is Ptolus, Sunday is Darklight Sisterhood. Will have updates on Monday, let me tell you.

Now they cloned Freehold DM, where did he put that baseball bat?

Awright folks. After a bad start to the day and getting precious little accomplished at the office, I'm heading to my post work meeting with my wife. Here's hoping the day improves...

The problem is that this is very real for me right now. :-(

Had a pretty good weekend. It's nice to be gaming again. Right now we are going through the Sunless Citadel with Pathfinder characters. As I said, it's nice to be gaming again, but I am learning that I REALLY hate confusing (and long) dungeon crawls. I'm giving the DM some more time, but I may be taking on the reins of DMing again soon. (And actually looking forward to it...)
