Karg Runethrane |

Karg puts one boot on the wolverine's corpse and wrenches his axe from the creature's skull. A quick glance shows that his new comrades are unhurt. He wipes the blood off on the creature's fur as he speaks an incantation (Cast Divine Favor).
He walks towards the sounds of the wolves until he is standing about 5 feet from then edge of the clearing. Right before the wolves crash though the forest Karg's figure flickers for a moment...and another Karg appears right next to him.
Active Trickery domain Copycat ability right before the wolves arrive. One Mirror Image appears. 50% miss chance on a hit.

Genisen Larkova |

Genisen moves over to Nalor and looks at his wound
Heal Check 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Genisen says "The wolverine got a good swipe in there, let me help you with that."
Cure Moderate Wounds 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 7) + 5 = 14
Genisen then loads his crossbow and waits for the wolves

Kuruk Swiftstride |

I had posted my Round 1 action on Saturday at 2pm; guess you missed it, DM
Quickly, Kuruk investigates the wolverine's corpse and jaw to see if the animal was rabid (hence, why it attacked).
Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9...guess not!
Then he gets into his stance and prepares for battle, saying a prayer to Gorum.

Nalor Slatesoul |

Nalor grudgingly thanks Genisen as his wounds are treated - briefly. Knowing they weren't out of the woods yet (no pun intended), he readies himself for the wolves, standing 10' to the side of the new Karg.
"I'm not scared of no puppies! We'll make short work of 'em like that there wolverine."
Initiative, if needed: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Action - when the time comes, assuming the assailants are, indeed, wolves:
Attacks with the urgroshes: 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13, 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Damage: 1: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15, 2: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Kobold Catgirl |

Suddenly, six wolves burst into the clearing.
Five of them seem normal grey ones, but one is pale white, with shining violet eyes. The white wolf nods, and the other five wolves move to sit on either side of him.
The wolf fixes you with a glare--and speaks. “You have led us a long pursuit, bipeds. It ends here!”

Kobold Catgirl |

Well that is news to me, wolf. Karg responds, Why do you pursue us?
Detect Evil on the pale wolf.
Faintly evil.
"You are intruders," the wolf says. "The others thought that they would use you. You should thank us for a quick death!"Roll initiative. You can keep trying to 'diplomatise' them, but they're clearly about to attack.

Genisen Larkova |

By others, I assume you mean that deceitful tengu. I for one don't care to stay in the forest any longer than I have to, so show us out instead of attacking and we can make sure it never sends others back here again.
Diplomacy 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Kobold Catgirl |

Forgive me, brave wolf. he smiles, Before my quick death...who is trying to use us?
Diplomacy 1d20 + 4
Initiative 1d20 + 6
The wolf growls, but Karg's flattery does seem to please it. "I see no reason to tell you, biped."
He is silent for a moment, thinking. Then, he hears Genisen's comment."So you serve the abominations!" he snarls. "A quick death is too good for you!" The wolves advance.
I'm waiting for Nalor's and Armen's Initiatives.

Nalor Slatesoul |

GM:

Kobold Catgirl |

Init:
Nalor: 21
Karg: 18
Armen: 12
Kuruk: 11
Wolves: 6+
Genisen: 6-
Nalor and Karg have posted their actions. Conveniently, they're also first.
Just a clarification: You do not have to post your actions in order. It may be a good idea, since you'll better know what others are planning, but you should feel free to post your actions when you can. Most of you are already doing so, and it's not like it's a requirement, but I just want it to be clear that there's an option.

Kobold Catgirl |

DM, do you have a map of the battle? Trying to see if he can maneuver anywhere to take advantage of his Great Cleave feat. If not, let me know and he'll just swing at same wolf as Karg.
None are adjacent. There are two wolves five feet behind him, and the rest are in the trees.

Kuruk Swiftstride |

Kuruk will strike at the wolf Karg injured with Power Attack and Enlarge.
Hit: +9 hit normal -2 power attack +1 Str -1 size
Damage: +7 normal +6 power attack +1 str
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Damage: 3d6 + 14 ⇒ (1, 6, 2) + 14 = 23

Armen Jessup |

To figure out what the talking wolf could be?
Knowledge (Arcana)1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
Knowledge (Religion) 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Knowledge (Planes) 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Armen casts Flaming sphere on one of the closest wolves, unless the head wolf has weakness to fire then sphere on him (based on the above knowledge checks)
Armen will move to behind the fighters, keeping them between him and the wolves.
Wolf gets Reflex DC 17 or take 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) = 8 Fire damage

[/QUOTEHe could be a fiendish wolf, but he doesn't act like a creature of evil. There are no arcane spells that can bring sentience to an animal, but you seem to recall reading somewhere that druids could do so. The majority of your knowledge, though, focuses on matters of books and civilisation, and so you know little of such things.

Karg Runethrane wrote:So two wolves are behind me? And four are amongst the trees in front of me?Bump...
Sorry, a lot of RL things suddenly sprung up at me, and since you guys might have already notices I'm prone to procrastination, I probably won't get around to this game until they're dealt with. I should be able to update Saturday.

Kobold Catgirl |

Nalor steps forward and swings his urgroshes rapidly at one of the wolves. The wolf dodges the first side with ease, but is hit by the second. It bleeds profusely, but still stands.
Karg attacks the white wolf, and strikes true. The wolf growls, but doesn't seem too badly injured.
Armen conjures up a ball of flame over another wolf. It stumbles and is caught directly in the burst.
Karg rushes forward and brings his greatsword down on the injured white wolf. The warpriest leaves a deep gash in his foe's back.
Now, though, an unnatural grin spreads across the creature's face. "Too late." He bites down on the "giant's" leg and yanks him down to his level. Karg takes 27 damage, and is tripped.
The two wolves behind him charge Karg, but both miss. The burnt wolf rushes out of the trees and bites down on Armen's leg. It tries to trip him, but Armen is able to yank his leg out of its grasp. You take 4 damage. The wolf Nalor wounded retaliates fiercely, but in its anger and pain misses miserably. Finally, the last wolf (hopefully, at least)runs out of the shadows at Nalor as well. All it gets for its trouble is a broken tooth from the dwarf's armor.
Genisen is up. Sorry for the wait.

Kuruk Swiftstride |

Ok, severely confused. First, you mentioned Karg twice but the character's name is Kuruk. To which "giant" were you referring? Karg and Kuruk are both enlarged. Second, are all these wolves large? If not, either or both of us should be getting Attacks of Opportunity, even from the floor. Please clarify.

Genisen Larkova |

Genisen casts sound burst behind the white wolf to not overlap onto Karg and trying to overlap another wolf if possible. Fort DC 17 or stunned
Any creature in burst takes 1d8 ⇒ 4

You're right, I did get them mixed up. Kuruk is the one who got bit by the big wolf.
Karg gets an attack of opportunity on one of the wolves, but Kuruk does not. Sorry about that.Genisen prays to Gorum, and a burst of high-pitched screeching goes off from behind the white wolf. The smaller wolf howls in pain, but the white one seems barely affected.

Kobold Catgirl |

Yeah, it's a bit disheartening to lose three players on the second page. Maybe four, if David left, too. If you guys want to keep going, I'd be willing to find some new guys, but at this point it might be hard to introduce more.
If we quit, don't feel obliged to save your characters if you want to use them in another PbP. I'm sorry this one wasn't successful.
