I just got the first draft rules for Airship / Skyship combat and I have decided to do something a little different with them. The writer of these rules and I agree that we should place these rules out there let the fans playtest them and gives us their comments back (A la Paizo). So what we are goind to do is if you become a friend of Louis Porter Jr. Design (See our blog for the link) when we release the first draft rules, you will recieve a free copy of the first draft rules for Airship / Skyship combat. Playtest them. Rip them apart. Go crazy. But tell us what you like and don't like here or at the LPJ Design's blog or even on our Facebook page. So if you are interested in Pirates of the Bronze Sky and you are a fan of Pathfinder, come check us out and get a free copy of the first draft rules. Thanks for your support.

What if you don't do facebook? I'll gladly be your friend... just don't ask me to sign up for something (facebook) I'm not interested in and don't particularly trust. Any other options? Really interested in the Sky Pirates idea.
I have to second that. Facebook has had a lot of negative publicity lately with their exposure of previously restricted information and being caught in violation of their own TOS to reveal people's location data to third parties, so I'm rather reluctant to sign up to anything involving them, no matter how interested I am in the rules.

OK these are valid points. I reason for Facebook is that we can have several topic we are speaking about with out having a forum. PLUS as I found out today you can have a Facebook Storefront where we can sell unique products for our Facebook fans get a 20% discount. We just like Facebook, but I do understand why you feel the way you do. If anyone can think of a way around this I would be interested in hearing.

not a perfect solution...
on your website, add an area to register. This gives you some useful options.
First you get contact information for people interested in buying your products. You can use that information to build sales information useful to your planned products (that is tailor products toward what people have bought).
Next you get easy and free contact information for direct advertising. This is the best for of advertising that exists.
Offer other products as tasty morsels to keep people coming back and to draw in more potential customers.
Offering something for free, or even putting up playtest data on your site is a great way to drive traffic, get contact info and drive sales.
Downside... people will still have to register... but then again if they are wanting a PDF they shouldn't be so shy of the net that they can't register at your site.

Ummm where do we discuss the rules when they come out? Your blog, facebook, or here?
It says any of the above in the original post.
what? I am a dwarf, I don't bother reading every little part of the OP... too long winded... now where is an orc to kill? Ahhh right THERE!

(Orc puts hand on dwarf's forehead, easily holding the little guy back while he swings furiously at orc's out-of-reach leg)

When do the rules come out?
Not for a while. The rules for ship creation and combat was our "big thing" to do with the setting. Now we have to work on building the empires, important NPCs, magic spells, and some cool feats. I would like to have the product ready and released by December for Christmas, but it might be earlier.
As far as your settings go, this is the one closest to what I like...hopefully it's very steampunk...
Well I call it arcanepunk actually. Lots of steampunk influences but if you can cast lightning bolts, stop time, resurrect people and travel to different planes of existence, I think you can create magical batteries.

Guys this thread was from May 2010. We turned over The Pirates of the Bronze Sky to another person to develop and publish. There person never developed it and we got the rights back. We have had this project on the back burners for well over a year and most likely will not see the light of day until the earliest of 2016. You can download a samples of ideas and concepts here, but currently these is nothing coming out for his project for a while. Sorry.
