Yea Me'Mori, that part made me wonder, but I wished they would have said something simple like "Pinned: YOU CANNOT ATTACK." But that does make sense.
Declaration! From now on, it will be written that a Pinned character can no longer attack and must escape from said pinning or snuff it!
Please resume smashing.

XD Alec is a pop culture bulldozer. :3 Even if it's the pop culture from the last millennium.
EDIT: "If you wanna test me / I'm sure you'll find / That the things I'll teach 'ya is sure to beatcha / Nevertheless you'll get a lesson from teacher now KICK!"
...yes, I have played too many vidjia-games.

I am not a very good artist. I used to be passing fair, but time and lack of practice have shaved off my edge. But Terra Mortalis satisfies an intense lust for any kind of modern roleplaying that I get precious little of (my friends at the tabletop play Pathfinder, or nothing at all), and it lights my heart with the fires of inspiration that beat and sear within my humble artist's breast!
So, I drew Alec.
I plan to draw Mikhail, Zaviera and Jacquelin next. Then William, once we get to know him a little better. Perhaps a group photo is in the cards, and combat / roleplaying scenes we cover. If my skills approach passable, perhaps the Ajax.
In any case, iit's crude, with some fun notes scribbled in. Some cartoonish scribbles I did for fun. And a picture of Alec's pipe wrench, because...PIPE WRENCH FIGHT.
You can view Alec's picture HERE.
Let me know what you think!

I was in the mood to draw tonight, so I found some of God's own muse--the wonderful siren of music--and threw together a full-body shot of Alec. Better work, but not my best. And for you llllaaaaaadies...full, sexy glory of his 100% desirable(?) noodly arms!
(-snicker-)
Anyway, updated wrench-swingin' Alec can be found HERE.
Enjoy, and as before, let me know what you think.

That is AWESOME. You're very talented, Reycied. I'll have to try drawing Jacq; gosh it's been so long since I've had a character to draw!
BTW, if we were playing this tabletop, I've got a giant pipe wrench (for a mini) that would be the perfect add on for Alec's miniature. PIPE WRENCH FIIIIIIIIIGHT. :)

Thanks for the praise, but I've noticed that drawings done in a late-night fever of the opiates of sweet Billie Holiday and insane J-Rock don't look as good in the morning. I need waaaay more practice. TERRIBLE bodies. XD
EDIT: If anybody actually gets the pipe-wrench fight reference, I salute you wholeheartedly, and godspeed to you! (It looks like DeathQuaker might. :) )

Oops. I did it again.
And really, I didn't do very well, but I actually have a reason this time.
I was champing at the bit all day to draw Zaviera, and for a variety of reasons. 1: Zaviera is a woman. I don't draw the female figure very well. 2: Zaviera has shorter-than-regulation hair, which in my mind means she's nearly bald, and I'm also terrible at drawing bald heads. XD 3: She's a tough soldier girl, which means I'd need to strike a hard balance between trying to draw someone who looks feminine, but can also bend you into a g$++%$ned pretzel if you piss her off.
It was going to be a challenge! Huzzah! A suitable whetstone upon which to sharpen the blade that is my pencil!
(I think I blew it.)
REGARDLESS! My folly is your amusement. You can view the svelte and rock-hard soldado HERE.
Oh, and Zav? I'm sorry if I misrepresented your character. ^_^;;
(If anybody is interested, the musical inspiration here was the Goo-Goo Dolls' "Long Way Down". I think our resident cybernetic badass needed a suitably badass song.)
Me'mori
I like. *grin* As well as flattered. I believe this is the first time that anyone I've come up with has earned a picture of themselves.
Hmm.. I wonder what Zaviera's favorite song would be-- Something she could relax to, drink to.. Something like this.

Reycied, you do a pretty dang good job with bodies, and I don't say that lightly. In my experience 90% of fanart seems to have people with bizarrely distorted proportions and your compositions are extremely well-proportioned, taking into consideration your art style (which I realize sounds like a backhanded qualification and it's not meant that way).
I'm assuming the song reference was to the "explained" version of "Take on Me."
ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE:
My home PC asploded. It should be salvageable but I need some help getting it fixed so I apologize if my posting gets more intermittent. I should be fine during the day (I'm at work and my boss is traveling so its VERY quiet here) but probably won't be able to get online at night and on Saturday (and then I go on vacation, as I mentioned, on Sunday). If need be, I am fine with D.A.D 'botting Jacq.
Devils Advocate Droid
Not a problem at all, DQ. I always appreciate the heads up though. Weekends are tough for me for the previous mentioned reasons, plus vacations are very nice :)
Nice pics Reycied. I think I see an influence of Fred Perry in your work. Your proportions are fine I think, and in reality you can over emphasize anyway you want if you're not going for just stone cold realistic proportions. So as long as it looks right, proportion-wise, it should be fine. Comic book art (which I'm a huge nerd for...well some comic books) proportions are almost always exaggerated, but in a visually pleasing way. Draw more :)

Just a quick note, at some point soon you will be having a "final exam" to stimulate your 2 weeks of "retraining and drilling". I intend to keep it somewhat brief but I also am using it as a sort of "stress test" for you all to see how combat would play out. You'll have access to all your toys *looks at Mikhail and Alec* and will have some objectives. It will give me a chance to see how the mecha and foot soldiers will work on a small scale. After wards, if for some reason it isn't working out, I'll let you retool your characters as you like, although I'm thinking it'll be fine. Just a heads up, as I'm sure you want get down to Terra and start blowing stuff up.
You will receive a reward for completing the test, so its' not all in vain.

I do enjoy drawing--I absolutely LOVE writing, and I have a large universe of characters floating around in my head, and drawing came as a way to visualize the images in my head. Actually, 'Droid, I'd never even HEARD of Fred Perry until you mentioned him, but now I really, really want to read Gold Digger. XD I've never had illusions of drawing as a career. For me, it's more like stress relief. If it ever became a job, it would lose its appeal.
In any case, art is based entirely off inspiration for me. The setting (Thanks to Devil's Advocate Droid) and the characters (thanks to everyone else) are incredibly inspiring to me, and it makes me wish I had TRUE artistic talent, so I could capture visceral battle scenes.
You have to understand that our tabletop group can oft be lackluster. I love roleplaying, but it can sometimes be embarrassing at the physical table when you're hanging out with a a bunch of guys you've known for years and one you've known since Jr. High. And it's hard to look straight into Mikhail's eyes (Mikhail is my Kingmaker GM) and say something like "Stand down, fiend! In the name of Iomedae, let me pass!" with something akin to righteous indignation in my voice. This is not to speak ill of Mikhail--he's the best tabletop GM I've had, really--since he doesn't let the rules bog him down...unlike other people at the tablecoughcoughahemcough...
What I'm getting at is that Terra Mortalis--in setting, creativity and fellow PC's--is so far the greatest game I've had the pleasure of playing. And that's simply the little things. I just hope Alec doesn't bite it too early or drag the whole party down! XD
Here's to more art soon! -cheers!-

A part of me feels like I'm just fluffing out the OOC board with needless posts, but here it goes again with the art.
Another picture of everyone's favorite soldado, Zaviera. I figured that, since Alec got both a body shot and a mug shot, she should too. I think maybe I made her a little chubby, but I was experimenting with a new angle, and I like how her eyes came out--looking intense and determined. Leastwise, I think so. :D Zaviera mugshot can be viewed HERE.
Zav, if you have anything to kick in, please do so! Zaviera is your character, so I am open to constructive criticisms of all types. ^_^
Offending music was (unsurprisingly considering I recently got my hands on it), "The Stand (Man or Machine)" by The Protomen. Give it a listen, if it pleases you.
Next on the chopping block...Mikhail or Jacquelin! Whomever strikes my fancy...-strokes his chin-
Jason Collum
Enjoying the illustrations Reycied. :)
The Protomen remind me of Queen a bit (in a good way).
Here are some tunes I've been listening to alot lately
Pushed to Far by Jerry Douglas Band
Dirty Side Down by Widespread Panic
Widespread Panic being my all time favorite band, enjoy!
Reycied
Hmm...if I had to actually pick CONCEPT music for Alec, that would be tough. But two pieces really stand out in my head.
Joe Satriani - Up in the Sky. (Because let's face it: the man could build a jet given half a week and the materials, and this is the ultimate jet music.)
Luar na Lubre - Canto de Andar (Alec is secretly kind of a hopeless romantic, and it says in his profile that Galician is his favorite dialect of Spanish).
I've never really been a big fan of Audioslave before, but I've never heard Gasoline, and actually found it to my liking--and as for Omega Boost...I believe I have mentioned I've played way too many vidjia-games. :3
Pink Floyd? $%^& yes. 'Nuff said. Everybody loves the 'Floyd.
As for Jacq, I think once you feel out her corners, I think you'll find TOO MANY songs fit her concept. My problem with Alec was narrowing it down to just two really good ones. XD
EDIT: Oh, Jason, I meant to ask...is William able to read the surface thoughts of others? Should we post the basics of what our characters are thinking when he stretches his mind out to meet theirs?
EDIT 2: I JUST realized the "Alec Radio" in Zaveria's post was a link. O_o I think my computer just exploded and I'm actually dead and in heaven. Me'mori, I love you. XD This is going right into my bookmarks folder.
Jason Collum
Oh, Jason, I meant to ask...is William able to read the surface thoughts of others? Should we post the basics of what our characters are thinking when he stretches his mind out to meet theirs?
Technically/mechanically... he can't... not until about 8th level... at 4th level he will have some telelpathic abilites (Missive & Lesser Mindlink) I'm heading for the Telepath Advanced Class
Fluff-wise... yes (in as much as the DM will allow)... I couldn't use it to gain a stratigic advantage i.e. detect/read surface thoughts of enemies/NPCs or feel the presence of hidden people. Right now it's more of a psychic babble thing... indistinct more of a hindrance than a help.
I am acting like the Charismatic Hero talents are psionic in nature. The Coordinate talent which allows William to give a +1 to an ally's attack/skill, I am acting like that and future talents that effect allies causes the psychic hiccup thing... mostly William will just speak in unison with the other characters but if you are under the effect of one of Williams talents feel free to throw out some surface thoughts/emotions for me to use. :)
