I think from now on I should just swing by the Paizo warehouse and pick up my stuff in person. It is only about an hour drive and totally worth it to get things a day earlier.

I have the feeling that Vic and I are the reasons why he missed his estimated time window. The two of us have been dealing with an illness to our 16 year old cat this week and have spent all of about 2 hours in the office so far. :/ Hopefully, we will get more clarity on our cat today, though that hasn't been the modus operandi for this week.

Sorry to hear about your Cat.

Hope everything is better now.

Kitteh comes first.

Always

Well, +2 actually, I have 2 cats

July/August combined plz.

If the shipping is cheaper for all of July/"August" combined, I'd certainly prefer everything combined.

Remember, shipping has NO VALUE ADDED.

Wait.

What?

Look at it this way:

While a combined shipping option for the July and "August" shipments might be nice, I (at least) am placated. If just because I expected to have the shipping costs each month, and while I may end up technically having 2 in July, I will have 0 in August.

(I still think that the "August" shipment should still be labeled as such, even if it is with the quotes, but that's just my overly-literal side nitpicking. 8^)

While it'd be nice to combine the shipments because they're only 2-3 weeks apart, I understand why they're separate (technically July then August shipments).

While almost true, it does have the value of getting you the product faster :) The question is whether $5, $12, or $40 is worth getting some items (especially PDFs) 3 weeks earlier.

If I was given the option of combining I think I *might* take it, but I'm not positive.

To be clear, Pathfinders #36 and #37 are shipping in the same shipment at the end of July, right?

If I were to have a sudden loss of good sense and not want to continue subscribing to Pathfinder after the conclusion of Kingmaker, what window would I have to cancel my subscription after Thousand Screams but before Shiv?

My understanding of the system is that I then have all of August (and most of September, it seems) to resubscribe and get #37 as its own shipment. True?

Your understanding is correct. We can only cancel a subscription effective immediately, so the standard procedure is to wait until after the order for the last book you want is created and send your cancellation notice before the next volume is shipped. Therefore, if you were to have a sudden loss of good sense and want to cancel your subscription after the end of Kingmaker (PF#36), but before the start of The Serpent's Skull (PF#37), then the timing will be tricky since these books will be shipping together.

However, this is not the first time this situation has occurred. The standard procedure still applies, you just have the smaller window of after the "August Shipment" order is created and before it ships. Once you've received your notification about your August shipment, if want to cancel, than send your notification. As always, we will work with you, and make sure no one ends up with something they do not want.

Thanks,
cos

The provided explanation proves why subscribing by Visa gift cards just doesn't work. Color me annoyed.
why not? if you go over the amount of the card, you'll get an email saying the payment wasn't authorized. Then you can wait a week til august, put money on the card, and call/email customer service to ask Cos and Sara to try again... might take a few days, seeing that its GenCon week so they'll be on skeleton crew, but its defiantly works

Visa gift cars are bought at set dollar amounts and aren't reloadable. If I subscribed to say the Adventure Paths, spent all the money on the card, minus the cost of buying and shipping one AP and it was for some reason delayed to be shipped with the next two, then there would not be enough money on the card to cover the order.

I would really appreciate if Paizo made it an option to subscribe to one AP the way that subscribing to Dungeon/Dragon used to work; all the money up front for it and a check could be mailed in. Though that is probably never going to happen.

Reloadable Visa Card

Also they've mentioned that it's a part of their merchant agreement that they will only charge on ship. This might be a recent change, or a difference between magazine and non-magazine. Either way it would be a breach of contract to do the APs as you ask.

The easy solution for you, I think, is to put $120 on a Visa gift card, subscribe with that card, and then cut it up and toss it. You've, in effect, paid for it all up front like you want, but Paizo need only charge the $20/month like they want.

You don't even have to unsubscribe at the end. When they try to charge you for issue #7, and your card's out of money, it just won't go thru and it'll cancel for you.

Heck, *I* may do that...

Should #37 and #36 be in the same shipment? Becasue I'd like them to be if their both sent at the same time as an overseas customer. I don't mind #35 shipping seperately.

36 & 37 together or seperately = the same to me.

If shipped together it'll add VAT (about 12$), if shipped seperate I'll pay 2 x shipping (around 12$ added up). So really, no big deal.

They ship together but keep #35 seperately if you select ship once a month option. It really does treat the Gen Con stuff as the auguast shipment!

Liberty's Edge

I hope the pickup at Gencon thing works.
