any possibility of having a heathen (not to be confused with Heathy) with a Germanic style name, me no good with Greek. and what are we lacking in party wise (muscle, sneaky-sneaky/good use of oral talents, the faithful, or mystical arts)

Mairkurion, we'll go with the battle axe for favored weapon, but you can use it 2-handed, and the blades should have a wing motif.Its fine. :D
He didn't mind at all. We both wanted you in with us!!

I think at least three of us are playing part rogues. To be honest, you may be better off playing a ranger in this one. With a lot of non lawfuls here, you may have a bit of a tough time trying to be the straight man. But more power if you can. Remember, he did say Chaos / Grimm / Greek. ;)
We'll definitely help with names, as you probably saw the back and forth between Mairk and me for mine.
Wizard would be CG, Ranger would probably be NG, and paladin would be obvious - although he would have some quirks to him as well as his own idea of "lawful".
A few background ideas:
He is incredibly intelligent but a bit eccentric. Also very loyal, but no one is as important to him as his rabbit.

Let's see.
Me = barbarian/rogue
Mairk = Cleric/rogue
CH = Bard
Solnes = Sorcerer
Sleazy E = Rogue/Sorcerer
Moff = Paladin or Ranger
Flash = ????
Germanic is fine too. Again, we're here to help. If you want a name in English to translate to something cool in a different language .. well, you know. =D
EDIT: Grimm is Germanic in origin, anyway.

Urizen, I posted ideas up above at what I'm looking at. Taking a look at our line-up, it looks like we're still a bit short on the muscle department. With that in mind, I'll probably do the Paladin. Workin' hard to keep you chaotic types on track. ;-)

Yes, you may. It's kinda like what I did for the 'Moonstar' n our FR game.
And sorry about the name omission. I counted you in my head, but when I was typing I was also trying to get Arden to settle down. :P

Thor = Jupiter so ZEUS. I'm not real sure easy equivalents will be found for the others--your familiarity with the Greek mythos might be a real limiting factor for playing a cleric in this setting (not trying to be DM here, just reflecting my understanding of what Moorluck has said). On the other hand, the class list looks deficient in the primary combatant department.

Think of it this way, the Greek Dieties aren't the only deities in our strange little world, they're just the ones most worshiped in the land of Chaos, if for no other reason than the Lord and Lady like to Party with them. See my earlier comment about Hermes and strip poker.
Feel free to give the PCs any type name name and background you wish, this is a Fawtly game after all, and sense and order have very little place. :P

Ah, great, FDM, I appreciate it. I figured I was in, from the battleaxe. :)
What's weird is my post appeared immediately after Woody's with no sign of you. I went back and edited it, and when the thread came back, you had appeared in between us. Weird. (Kicks slow boards)

Yay! I was hoping one of you would pick a pali, we need a straight man after all. ;)

Ok Solnes and I talked, she's gonna drop out for my sanity's sake.
So we have Mairk, Taig, Woody, Uri, Moff, CH, Easy E, and Flash(?).
I really am flattered, and a little intimidated, by the intrest this has generated. I've got the first adven fleashed out, so we should be good to go the first week of May.
When buying your equipment guys feel free to play a little, in the Fawtly spirit, with item names. For example, instead of buying 6 potions of Cure Moderate Wounds, try grabbing a six-pack of Curing PBRs. ;)

Do not be surprised when a troll tries to eat you. ;)
(I once played a halfling that earned the nickname 'Trollbait'.)

Yes I am going to play a PC. But I am also going to try and help with NPC's or something. We just have to walk the line from helping and knowing too much as a player. :D

I left you a note with some Character Concepts in it for your perusal here.

I love a good sausage.
Why is everyone looking at me like that?

Urizen wrote:I'm fine with it, it's Fawtly enough for this PbP. :PSo....FDM/LPM ... what about Flash's 3.0 write-up of the proposed orcling?
Awesome! I'll be sure to include that in my PbP PC's profile as an easy / quick_to_access reminder. Now to get to statblocking....

Urizen |

Ok, so I'm playing a half-elf paladin of Hephaestus. Can someone give me some name ideas and then I'll get to work on stats and flesh it out a little more.
The guilty will be cleansed by fire.
Hephaestus is Vulcan. Spock is of Vulcan descent. You're a half-elf, Spock was a half-breed. I see where you're going. Unforunately, Spockurion is already taken. :P
All kidding aside, are you going for a Greek Spock so to speak?

I've got a few ideas floating around in my mind.
I see myself having two names. One I had on the streets that few people know and the one that was given to me by the dwarven cleric when I became a paladin. With that in mind, I would want a name where people of dwarven descent especially would need to look twice at me because it shouldn't be my name.
At least that's how I'm seeing things right now.

Mairkurion {tm} |

Moff, I see no reason to continue the elf vs dwarf storyline from Tolkien, unless FDM sees a need to include that in this story. That eliminates any problem with a half-elf adopted in some way by pious Hephestian dwarves. People can be surprised as you like, but they don't have to be incredulous.

I was thinking more along the lines of what's-his-face's tattoo in Lost. Most people look at it and say "nice tattoo", but the people who really know what it means understand the significance -- and that he shouldn't have it. Going the dwarf route makes that a little easier, but it doesn't have to go that way. Suggestions or should I just drop that angle?

Mairkurion {tm} |

I think the half-elf being adopted by dwarves angle is fine. You can assume that dwarves are an insular community without them being a hateful one. Sorry, don't know anything about Lost. Maybe I'm just not getting what you mean by "shouldn't have it."

![]() |

Sorry, don't know anything about Lost.
Sorry. I thought that was required viewing for gamers. ;-)
In a nutshell -- and I'm sure I'll get something wrong (it was a confusing episode -- ha! Confusing with Lost) --
The main character (the doctor dude) has some kind of Asian tattoo. (From Thailand? Japan? I forget.) They do some kind of background to it because something alludes to it being important (like everything on the show). He's dating (really just sleeping with) this girl who does these special tattoos for only special people. Each one is unique and each one means something specific for the individual that it was for. I think that the only ones who got these were natives to the area. (Like I said, it's confusing.) Anyway, he convinces her to give him one of these special tattoos and then her older brother and gang find out and beat the living snot out of him and send him away "or else". One person on the island of Lost points out the tattoo making it appear as something more than just a tattoo. I'm not even sure if it was revealed yet what exactly the tattoo really means. (I'm waiting until the more recent season(s) come out on DVD.)

I'm really torn... I'm not sure whether I want to play the Strix or the Drow. I am leaning towards the Drow at this stage.
I think a Drow Inquisitor of Hecate would be cool! :D
