This Looks more in the style of the DCAU than the Teen Titans art (I liked the stories, but the style drove me nuts). I'd prefer Cassie over Artemis though. I hope M'gan is a lot like J'on in JL and JLU.

I'm in. Anything to get the taste of Teen Titans out of my mouth.

Scarab Sages

I'm looking forward to Generator REX.

I hated the 'big heads' in Teen Titans... hope Young Justice doesn't do that too.

Still need to watch seasons 2+ of Ben 10....

Ooooo, I hope it's in the DCAU.

What's the difference?

DCAU is the DC Animated Universe. It's a set of connected continuity that started with Batman: The Animated Series (BTAS), went through Superman: The Animated Series, their continuations (The New Batman Adventures and The New Batman/Superman Adventures), Batman Beyond, Static Shock, The Zeta Project, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited (JLU).

There were some movies as well, including Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (which saw theatrical release) and Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman (which had some controversy about rewrites).

All those series and moves share a continuity. They are also often called the Timmverse, after producer and constant guide Bruce Timm. Characters and histories (and mostly voice actors) carry over from one series to the next. things like Static Shock and Batman Beyond were referenced in Justice League Unlimited. It was, in a word, awesome.

The DCAU does not include Teen Titans or Legion of Super Heroes, both of which had different actors, continuities, and producers. And, to many fans, were worse for it.

One of the strengths of the DCAU was that it took decades of storytelling, and boiled things down to a single, intelligent continuity. elements many comics fans disliked, from Bane to Doomsday, were blended seamlessly into the DCAU, made sense, and were fun. The story telling was so skillful that many characters created for the DCAU (like Harley Quinn) were ported over into mainstream comics continuity.

The fact that the stories spanned decades, alternate realities, and epic conflicts allowed for subtle developments American animated series rarely include. And those growing characterizations were consistent and excellent. It was, in my opinion, the best version of the DC universe. Many fans, myself included, were very sad when the DCAU came to an end. And, yeah, a lot of us are constantly hoping for someone to go back and pick up where JLU left off, especially if Bruce Timm is involved.

Which is why a DCAU series would be thought of as different from a DC animated series unconnected to that vast and excellent continuity.

I'd add to the above, the recent Crisis on Two Earths should have been DCAU, but wasn't. Batman: The Brave and the Bold's "Batman of Zur En Arth" was chock full of homages to the DCAU.

I wish Warner/DC would return to the continuity. They're releasing a Batman Beyond comic book, and it was the DCAU that interested me in the Hawks, John Stewart, and most of all, the Martian Manhunter. Heck, it's the fact that Miss Martian is

Spoiler:
actually a white martian
that makes me like the character. I want to see interaction between the last two Martians.

Hopefully there won't be stupid things like the 'Bat Embargo' that plauged Justice League. A visit by a 'mentor' would be nice. Especially if M'gann and J'onn could meet and M'gann's history is ported over.

(I'm reading that there's something about how Wonder Woman has legal provisions tied to her name, and that's why the show has 'Artemis' rather than Cassie, and maybe Artemis is an Arrowette proxy as well. Or maybe they didn't want to bring in Speedy w/o touching on her HIV infection. Wish they'd just gone the extra mile and made her Liam though.)

I have also read that there is a Green Lantern Corp series in the works that will share a universe with Young Justice. From what I have read they will both be considered part of the DCAU.

You're kidding. This is the greatest news I've recieved since seeing a certain LoSH ad in the middle of Power Girl 11.
