Yes, he revised the Spirit Shaman and I was playing it. I'll go ahead and change her to a cleric and use what Paizo published on the Shoanti shamans though, they're just a flavor of Cleric

I'm here finally, I don't know if I could tell you much about the group background though. It's honestly a bit sketchy to me.
Grandfathered in, I think he means like what I asked for with Xian. Submit the level progression and associated feats.
As for group background I think it might be good to start with your own background. I guess I'll start.
Xian is a bounty hunter who met the group in the Goblin Fortress looking for Orrick Vancaskerskin, a Fighter who wields a Basterd Sword, and fled Riddleport, with a price on his head. He was the son of a minor crime lord who had fallen from grace and had slighted one of the more powerful Crime Boss's of Riddleport. Theres 5,000 gold wanted dead or alive on his head. He is part of a band of adventurers who are leading the Goblins there.
Before that he was an aristocrat from Tein who was caught up in some intrigue that involved the murder of his mother and father and the sale of his sister. He hopes to have the money and power to some day return and start the revolution he was falsely accused of being part of.
Val is from a nearby elven settlement and got exiled for anger issues (barabarian - rage, etc...). So he moved to Sandpoint where his friend Camryn grew up. Got involved with fighting the goblins at the festival. He joined the guard, but left after a couple of days (Val is not really the, take orders type).
My plan is that he has become a crafter of fine elven bows.
Oh yes, his contact in Sandpoint is Ameiko Kaijitsu, an ex-patriot of Tein who was a friend of his father's and helped him adjust to his new life.
How did Val find himself in the Goblin Fortress?
Valandil, after the victorious raid on Thistletop, Sheriff Hemlock offers you the position of reserve officer in the town watch. Would you accept?
Reserve Officer, sure.
Let's see, most of the group came together during a goblin raid on the town. We helped defeat 3 group of goblins and saved a noble named Foxglove. During the next couple of days we went on a boar hunt, fought a goblin straggler who had hid out in a house (Val got a scar from that one) and then investigated the disappearance of Ameiko Kaijitsu and discovered goblins in the glassworks. After finishing them and Ameiko's brother Tsuto off, we found that he was in league with the goblins and that they were planning on a MAJOR attack. So we first explored the Catacombs of Wrath and fought Sinspawn, a quasit and (verbally)each other.
Finally, we went to Thistletop/Goblin Fortress to stop Nualia, the BBEG who was organizing and controlling the goblins.
I imported Lin Tai from one of Dread's other games. He's a world traveler and he is a somewhat experienced adventurer.
The first son of a fireworks maker and a seamstress(Both very successful, mid-high class social level), Lin Tai spent the first years of his life around loud bangs, the smell of gunpowder, and the sound of his father asking for more tea and sulfur. He was admitted to the Imperial War School at age four. When he turned fourteen he went to work for his Uncle Xue Yu(his mother's brother), a silk merchant(owner of a silk export company), and spent the next four years as a secretary and on/off representative for his Uncle. Lin Tai spent most of his time during this four year period in and around the Grand Duchy of Alkenstar, and it's neighbors Geb, Nex, Katapesh. This is where and when he fell in love with Alkenstar's firearms. Became a adventurer after a incident in Geb and his Uncle's death. Long story short: Geb merchant hires assassin, assassin's buddies turned Uncle into zombie, Tai writes home to tell mom, and swears revenge on assassins. With contacts(of nominal usefulness)in his Uncle's(now mother's) silk company, Lin Tai now spends his time hunting down his enemies and traveling in his Uncle's(now his) Tian built wagon(carriage). (I have this as side plot if you're interested, or we can totally ignore this)
Currently, he was captured by goblins after traveling to Sandpoint looking for Ameiko Kaijitsu to open up the family business in the West or something like that. It seems I shared this little contact hook with Xian Jin.

Ameiko isnt married nor was her brother (Tsuto...) (who turned out to be a bad guy) but theres no reason Ameiko's fathers (Lonjiku) sister isnt married to your fathers brother.

I have some basic ideas of what happened to the party after the battle of Thistletop. Let me know if you have something else in mind:
Camryn died fighting the villain Nualia.
Shelalu the ranger also died. Heartbroken, Khaine left Sandpoint to explore the wider world.
Varus – became a performer at Sandpoint Theater.
Kiera – stayed to serve at Sandpoint Cathedral.
Tari – stayed to learn about sorcery from Madame Mvashti.
Val – was recruited as a reserve officer by Sheriff Belor.
I'm still thinking about Lin and Xian.
Lin, how about you stayed in Sandpoint to help Ameiko figure out what to do with her father's now abandoned glassworks? You're looking into converting it into a fireworks warehouse, but the city council is understandably reluctant ...
That sounds good. I'm sort of a family businesses fixer type person. Fireworks, Glassworks, Gunworks, Textiles, Imports, Miscellaneous, let's see what happens. Hopefully I'll be able to get a new gun. :P
That leaves me lots of options, I can stay or I can leave or I can use this place as a contact point.
I think we can just put the characters on a bus instead of killing them, in case we get new players who don't want to make new characters...or just for NPC purposes.

Yes. No more than a few months transpire between "Burnt Offerings" and the "Skinsaw Murders".
When do we start?
That works for me, since I don't get much this time around in terms of leveling up (BAB increase, more skill ranks, a Will save increase, more spells and more chances to use them).
As far as transitioning between the two adventures, Tari will join her friends in mourning Camryn and Shelalu, and wish Khaine the best in his travels. These tragic events will probably push her to learn more about her abilities so she can help protect the others better in the future.
And for my background, I'll give you the short form:
Tari was a normal farm girl, living with her elven father outside of Sandpoint.She started to develop magical powers and hints of her draconic heritage in her teenage years, like all sorcerers do, but kept it a secret from her father to keep him from becoming ostracized by the community. Later on, she decided to travel with her friend Tess(the factotum we had before Varus) to the city to help her regain what rightfully belonged to her family. Tari lost track of Tess during the goblin raid on Sandpoint. Afterward, she learned from Madam Mvashti that the powers and physical changes that she had been experiencing were because of the draconic blood in her veins (skin gradually getting more of a bronze tone, nails forming into claws, magical ability, etc.), and that she was a sorcerer, not a wizard like she had thought. Tari's with the group to help protect Sandpoint and her allies, and if she can use her "gifts" to do so, so much the better.
HP:
+2 HP (one from favored class, one from Con mod)making that 28 HP total

Well, Drula will also join in the funeral rites for Camryn and Shelalu. She didn't know them that well, but she would still want their spirits to be at peace and all.
Drula could also probably be lingering around Sandpoint just because she likes the the town and the area. As for her background though, she was originally sent down to Sandpoint and the surrounding towns on a kind of diplomatic mission for the Shoanti tribes when they had notices a lot of movement in the giant and goblin tribes. They suspected trouble was brewing somewhere and Drula's Quah (tribe) especially wanted to start making allies and warn people. Since Drula is a half-blooded Shoanti/Chelaxian, she was selected for the mission hoping that would have an easier time relating to outsiders.

I'll be working on treasure division and other details as we progress into the first part of the game, which will be mostly roleplaying. That way you guys won't get too bored waiting.
Two things. First I was looking at everyone elses' character sheets and notice that Lin and Val didn't take their +2 stat boost due to race nor did they take the +1 stat boost due to leveling.
Also, I've never seen the write up for a factotum. Could someone point me to it or post it. I'm very curious as to what are the possibilities with it.
The Factotum was in the 3.5 Dungeonscape book.

Well making things go boom is good. With your +2 to any stat you could add to int and get 4 more skill points. I've looked at some character sheets we don't have anyone who can disable devices. With your gun smithing skill it wouldn't too far fetched that you might have that skill as well.

You are correct, I slipped back to 3.5 where 1 for 1 went up to 14. That change (the point buy values) is the one I dislike the most in Pathfinder. I find it annoying.

Val mostly slept through elf magic lessons (barbarian, smash). I might in the future, but I have 4 skills I want to max out and am going to go back to the barbarian class in the future.
I actually prefer PF over DnD when it comes to point buy. PF makes so much more sense

Is this a regular forum, not designed for gaming specifically, and we're going to use it as such? If so, if it's our DMs will, I will defer to him. But I would recommend looking into a site called plothook. It's a very good gaming site designed for Play-by-Post D&D campaigns. I played and ran many successful campaigns on the site in the past. It was similar in format to RPOL, but I found worked even better than RPOL did.
You would request from the site admins your own game forum. Only players in your game would be allowed to post in the forum, and the DM could very easily manage the game from there. I haven't been there in a while, but last time I was there, there had been talk about developping an integrated dice roller (so no cheating) and also an integrated character sheet manager... DM JZ, if you'd like, I can go over there and check it out with you sometime, and we could discuss if running a campaign there is a good method for you.
The reason Dread didn't play there was because his wife Zoya had a falling out with one of the site admins. I remain on good terms with them though, although not as close as I used to be...
Now this is all because I know little of this site. I used Paizo to buy my Pathfinder materials, and never explored their forums. Maybe it's an excellent site, but it's always good to consider other options if it'll lead to an easier and/or more fulfilling gaming experience. And especially for a new DM, I find plothook was very easy.
Anyways, just my two cents there. Again, Golden Rule is the decision maker. :) But message me JZ if you want to know more about the other site.

I understand, and I reiterate, the DMs choice is final. :) I was just offering an alternative that maybe someone hadn't tried yet. From personal experience, plothook is an excellent site for PBP. But agian, if the DM wants to play here, that's what we'll do. All I ask is that he look at the site to consider it. :) I have no experience on this site, so if this one is better (or he's more comfortable here), then great. :)

1) We've skipped the Thistetop battle and moved onto the next module of Rise of the Runelords.
2) It's a personal favor I'm asking of everyone. I like RPOL a great deal, but there's a greater sense of community here. There's a focus on Pathfinder, of course. And everyone gets to read each other's adventures.
3) Oops, sorry about that! Camryn, as you know, is my character. I may unconsciously favor him as an NPC or as another player's PC, so I decided to kill him off.
4) I'll need help especially in the rules department from you and everyone. I'm not that great with the rules. Yes, the DM is always right, but only if the players say so :)
To answer your question, Xian, yes, I took care of it at character creation. I don't remember what stat I added it to (might have been charisma, given my class), but I think it's already taken care of. I remember Dread mentioning something to me about it, so I probably took care of it soon after that.
Welcome back, Kiera...it's good to know that we didn't lose another player. :) I'd have to agree with you on the suggestion for PH, but these are working just fine for me for now. In fact, I like the measures Paizo's made to allow PbP gaming on their boards. I'll have to try starting up a game here someday...
