Daviot's Pathfinder Adventure Path Index

Pathfinder Adventure Path General Discussion

Dear fellow Pathfinders, GMs, players, and aficionados.
I was recently met with a conundrum. With now over thirty of the Pathfinder Adventure Path books currently available, there's a lot of content out there, and each book is more than just a single adventure. After about the eighth time trying to track down what gazetteer or monster came from what book, I searched these forums, to little success. So I decided to do something about it.

Daviot's Pathfinder Adventure Path Index

Fifteen evenings of work and thumbing through my hard copy selection of the books, my friends' collection, and my more recent subscription PDF's (it's hard to hold open a book and use both hands to type :3), I not only gained an appreciation of how much stuff is out there, but I hope this will be of use to others.

I've tried to purposely leave off things tied to running that specific Adventure Path, or describing the real world metahistory of topics, while snagging town/regional maps (leaving off dungeon maps), items, feats, spells, artifacts, and other useful things.

That said, the nice handy thing is that you can search by bracketed tags, that is, putting [example] into your browser's Find function will pull up everything with that tag. This includes my categorizations, monster subtypes, and so forth.

Give it a whirl, and tell me what you think. My batteries need a little time to recharge, but if there's enough requests, I'll compile smaller indices, such as Monsters (organized by CR, types, subtypes, etc. similar to the PRD), magic items, non-magical gear, character options (feats, summon lists, animal companions, familiars, etc.), and spells.

And Paizo? Thanks again.

Addendum: I would have posted this in the /Pathfinder/Adventure Path section, but you can't post to that root; merely each campaign's sub-forum. So it's here for now.

Also, fun facts. Throughout the adventure paths released thus far(#1-31), you will find:
24 artifacts
13 intelligent magic items (9 of them artifacts)
12 set pieces
11 diseases
10 Deific Heralds (for the aspiring 15th level cleric)
8 templates
2 new materials (Noqual/Skymetal, Living Brass)
2 statted up deities/demons capable of granting spells (Achaekek, Treerazer)
2 NDE's (Non-Deific Entities; legendary unique beings that can't grant spells; Ahriman and Xotani the Firebleeder)
1 grenade-like item
1 theatrical play
1 real-life recipe
1 playable monster race (the Strix)
1 new use for a skill (the Cinderbrave Handle Animal trick)

And of course, 5 full campaigns thus far.

Wow.. that's a ton of work.

.. and spoilers just in the 2nd post, let alone the actual index :)

Could you describe the contents a bit more? Since I'm playing in two of those campaigns right now, I'm rather afraid to visit the index.

Did you say you put maps from the APs up? Or just page numbers?

There are minor spoilers, but only in the titles of things like magic items and so forth, without the context to make them useful spoilers. The index is just an outline, so on a map it would merely list the map title and the page number of the book, not the actual map.

The Index currently does not list dungeon maps, adversaries, plot points, or similar. I intentionally didn't want to spoil the adventures themselves.

Example of content/format:
#X: Title of Book
[PRPG, Levels 1-3, Region/County: City/Area it takes place in]
---Sidebar: Name of Sidebar (p. x) [type of content] [type 2]
---Map: Name of Region (p. x) [map]
---Magic Item: Name of Magic Item (p. x) [magic item] [weapon] [PRPG]
Gazetteer: History of Sales Golems [ecology] [magic]
---Spell: Summon Sales Golem (p. x) [sorcerer] [wizard] [subscriber] [spell] [PRPG]
Set Piece: The Land of Irritable GMs (1st level; Variable location) [locale] [set piece] [PRPG]
Pathfinder's Journal: Title x of y "Up a Creek"
Bestiary:
---Invisible Christopher Walken (CR 99 N Medium outsider [incorporeal]) [PRPG]

Great work, this will come in handy. Thanks :)

And...now updated for Pathfinder #32 "Rivers Run Red".

Daviot's Pathfinder Adventure Path Index

Updated for Pathfinder #33-35, up to "War of the River Kings".
Daviot's Pathfinder Adventure Path Index

I'm anxious for feedback. Is anyone actually using this? Benefiting from it? While I realize that The Archives of Nethys are up, they don't cover certain things (such as monsters, for now).
Thoughts, suggestions, requests? (An Adventure Path Monster Index?)

It seems very comprehensive and useful as it, but I think would be more so if it also (as a separate document) grouped the entries by tag. So instead of --

AP 1
[spells]
[bestiary]
[magic items]

AP 2
[spells]
[bestiary]
[magic items]

AP 3
[spells]
[bestiary]
[magic items]

you'd have

SPELLS
Blood Money (AP05 p. 59) [sorcerer] [wizard] [spell] [OGL]
Covetous Aura (AP05 p. 58) [sorcerer] [wizard] [spell] [OGL]
Deathwine (AP05 p. 58) [cleric] [sorcerer] [wizard] [spell] [OGL]
Dream Feast (AP02 p. 72) [cleric] [druid] [ranger] [spell] [Desna] [OGL]
Interplanetary Teleport (AP14, p.52 [cleric] [sorcerer] [wizard] [spell] [OGL]
Traveling Dream (AP02 p. 74) [cleric] [druid] [spell] [Desna] [OGL]

BESTIARY
Blast Shadow (AP15) (CR 5 CE Medium undead [fire]) [OGL]
Crag Spider (AP08) (CR 8 N Huge vermin) [OGL]
Cutlass Spider (AP15) (CR 6 N Large construct) [OGL]
Denizen of Leng (AP08) (CR 8 CE Medium outsider [chaotic] [evil] [extraplanar]) [OGL]
Forest Drake (AP15) (CR 5 LE Large dragon [air]) [OGL]
Harridan (AP08) (CR 12 CE Huge magical beast) [Lamia-kin] [OGL]
Hungerer (AP08) (CR 15 CE Huge magical beast) [Lamia-kin] [OGL]
Kuchrima (AP08) (CR 8 CE Medium magical beast) [Lamia-kin] [OGL]

Rune Giant (AP08) (CR 14 LE Gargantuan giant) [OGL]
Wendigo (AP08) (CR 17 CE Large outsider [cold] [native]) [OGL]

etc.

BTW, the Sidebar for Interplanetary Teleport in AP14 has no page number in your document.

Any chance of an updated listing? I appreciate all the work you did previously. It help in my research of new and fun material.

A combination of a family trip, illness, Christmas, NaNoWriMo and a dearth of my own games somewhat interfered with things. A previous lack of interest and the rise of all-inclusive fan websites* weren't helping things either.

One of my games is slowly gearing up again, so I may need my index for my own use; I'll see how much I can catch up by this weekend. :3

I really dislike how clunky GoogleDocs can be, but...as of today, the index is updated up to #40, Vaults of Madness, as well as a few fixes and clarifications elsewhere. Enjoy:

Thanks for the update. You are very appreciated.

You missed an item from Kingmaker #6: Sound of a Thousand Screams - Major Artifact - Briar.
It was found at the conclusion of part 5 and comes into its full power in part 6 of Kingmaker.

I can't access the google doc anymore. A real shame, this is an invaluable resource.

[On Briar]

I intentionally left it out because it's plot-centric, spoilerific, and very hard to use outside of the scope of the AP; same reason why I'm not tagging dungeon maps. See original post.

I think it's fixed now. When GoogleDocs upgraded itself, it must have reset access somewhere along the way.

I will get back to updating this, but between coming down with lupus and being sidelined for most of a year and other projects, it's a bit lower on my priorities list.
