Harn Jenkins |

Harn will advance into the courtyard, smirking at Nikolae's words as he says. "Nah, don't think we'll find any so quickly. This plant likes ta grow near natural metals form what we have found, no? So it'll probably be further in."
Initiative:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Moving into the courtyard to stand just to the right and five feet away from the well.

Trevor the Yellow |

"It's awfully quiet... I don't like it."
Trevor makes sure he covers AAremeth as he moves inside.

[b]Tall grasses and chunks of stone debris have all but overtaken this small yard. Off to one side a wooden stable has collapsed into a pile of rotting timbers and moldy straw. The outer wall on the east side has also collapsed, leaving a ragged mound of debris. A set of double doors stand open in the west wall, in the north wall a door hangs ajar on its hinges, and a door into the tower stands shut. The shadows dance, and dim light illuminates the hallway to the west from your own hands. you see A couple of wolves pacing the edge of the hallway watching your movement when the largest wolf any of you have seen steps forward with two more wolves at his flank.

Harn Jenkins |

Normally, Harn would have thought the Worg to be rather large, however, in his augmented height, Harn thought that the intelligent wolf was rather normal looking and his buddies just plain tiny. Taking a casual stance, Harn turns to face Graypelt as he says, "Hey there. I know it might seem a tad rude ta be bargin' in like this, but we are looking fer something that'll help a few of our sick that might be around here. With yer permission, we'd like ta look around fer it. What ya say?"

Harn Jenkins |

Still looking at Graypelt, Harn tries to hide the fact that he felt slightly uncomfortable and confused, talking with a wolf that can respond. Looking for any chance to shift the focus a bit, Harn says, "Well, that is where it gets a tad difficult fer me. I ain't never seen what we are looking fer." Glancing towards Aaremeth, Harn asks, "What was it we were looking fer again?"

Trevor the Yellow |

Heavily concerned about the possible outcome of having a casual discussion with a Big Talking Wolf, Trevor calls upon his faith to sense if there is evil at work.
Detect evil on Graypelt
I don't like this! A talking wolf, and shadows on all sides!
He takes his bearing, noting how exposed Nikolae is and how Harn, with his size, can effectively block the entrance and funnel the wolves as they would flank them, using the corners of the entrance as cover.
Come on Harn, I won't wait exposed much longer... He feels his heart rushing, his axe heavily present in his grip.

AAremeth |

Ironbloom mushrooms they grow near mineral ore. we came here because we knew dwarves once lived here, and where there were dwarves there is ore. AAremeth says calmly stepping a bit forward to take some of the focus off of the exasperated Harn. I'd imagine that mighty hunters such as yourselves have little use for mushrooms.

Graypelt |

Graypelt looks back to AAremeth There are other predators here in our domain. We have pups on the way, and if you would rid us of these threats I know of a growth of these mushrooms you seek. There is a great spider over in that tower, and a pair of strange flying things in the old dwarven holy place kill these pests and the mushrooms are yours.

Harn Jenkins |

Picking up on Trevor's nervousness, Harn says, "Hmmm, that don't seem so bad. At least not any stranger than what we've seen so far. So a big spider and a winged creature. We can do this fer ya. But you better not be lying to us wolf. It has been quite the trip in getting here, and we ain't in the mood to stand fer betrayal. Everything that has tried to stand in the way of what we want has paid for it and don't go thinking that you and yours would be any different." With that, Harn looks towards the tower that Graypelt indicated as he thought, Well this is turning out to be more work than we thought necessary, but if the wolf really can lead us to what we need, it'll be better than having to find it on our own with him at our backs.

Trevor the Yellow |

Trying to remain calm, Trevor says quietly to Harn: "Are you sure? I feel evil all over that beast. What good are we serving by doing his will?"
I won't object further. But will keep an eye on Graypelt.

Harn Jenkins |

Whispering back to Trevor, Harn says, "Don't really have much of a choice, now do we? If the wolf does know where to get this Iron blossom thing then it could end up saving us a lot o' time instead of trying to search through all of the monastery. Besides, I don't know what your divine senses are telling you but my normal ones are telling me that the wolves will only attack on the big wolf's word. Do ya really want ta kill off an entire group o' wolves because one o' them stinks o' evil?"

Trevor the Yellow |

"All right Harn, I trust your instinct. Stay on your guard though."
Trevor turns, slowly, towards the tower, prepared to engage the spider. He takes off his two javelins.

Trevor the Yellow |

Move to D23.
Perception in the tower area: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22.
EDIT: Yay! Trevor's finally learned how to tie his boots. Way to go tiger!

Nikolae readies his crossbow as they approach the tower.
Vermiis notes that Nikolae prefers speaking in Draconic to Thassilonian, for some unclear reason, and asks in the dragon's speech,
Nikolae replies in the same tongue,

Harn Jenkins |

Not fully trusting the Worg, Harn moves off towards the tower where Greypelt says the large spider makes it's home. Knowing that it would have to be a pretty big spider to threaten a wolf, even a wolf cub, Harn begins to feel a tad skeptical. Their group had seen many strange things on this trip, but really...a giant spider?

Trevor the Yellow |

"The door will be hard to open. It seems a bit stuck. Also, someone should keep an eye on the roof with some range weapon. There's a hole up there and I feel it's the usual way for the spider to get in or out. Anyone has a way of blocking that escape? Who wants to open the door? Who wants to cover the roof?"

I moved everyone over near the tower if anyone wants another spot just let me know at the beginning of your action.Harn round 2 will be your last round enlarged.
Map round 1

Trevor the Yellow |

"OK, I'll cover the roof." Trevor takes a sunrod from his belt, lights it and carefully throws it on the roof, so that he can aim better at it.
He then plants both javelins and his axe, ready for use, and takes out his bow, careful to leave his quiver easily accessible.
"Everybody get ready. Harn, would you move in first? On Lueck's signal..." He raises his bow, ready to fire.
Ninjaed! I'll be in B23 to fire at the roof or in the doorway. Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Harn Jenkins |

Moving over to the door, Harn will use the last moments of his enlarged size to put his full weight into the stuck door, trying to at least get the door unstuck, if not knock it off its hinges.
Strength Check:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Moving to E,24 in an attempt to break the door down.

Trevor the Yellow |

Trevor tenses, trying to keep his hands from applying too much tension on the bow and arrow, he keeps an eye on the roof.

In hopes of getting things moving again I am going to go ahead. Harn steps up and slams the door open. Thick webs cover much of the ancient crates and barrels stored inside the base of the tower. A rickety wooden staircase ascends the back wall to reach an open trapdoor above. A giant black and red spider bigger than Vermiis comes through the trapdoor and begins to scurry down the wall at the sound of the crashing door. Do you all rush into the room, or wait in the courtyard luring it out. Trevor I switched tokens for you. the other was blending in really well with the background. Harn I know it is the last round and I kept meaning to make you large size, but kept forgetting. So for one round we get giant Harn.
map Round 2

Trevor the Yellow |

Dorgar, are you still doing the initiatives for the group? I find it moves things along nicely. Someone in the group can also take care of it if you prefer.
Watching the beast, disgusted, Trevor shouts: "How can they get so big! Harn, you're too big, either go in or move back some, so we can gang up on it!"
SA: Ready an arrow in case she tries to escape through the roof or the door, when I don't have Harn in the way.
Longbow: to hit 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage 1d8 ⇒ 8
Point Blank shot, if it applies, gives me another +1 to hit and damage.
Critical confirm: Longbow: to hit 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Extra damage 1d8 ⇒ 7
MA: Detect evil on her.
A paladin can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is evil, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the paladin does not detect evil in any other object or individual within range.

No worries Harn.
Round 2:
AAremeth tosses one of his bombs into the tower unfortunately it misses the spider and hits the wall.
Lueck gives Harn a hearty pat on the back quoting Cayden as he does. Harn feels an extra surge of strength flow through him.
Trevor looks a little flustered at Harn's extra size, but waits and as Harn shifts preparing to squeeze through the portal he lets fly with his bow and strikes true putting an arrow into the abdomen of the spider.
Nikolae steps back and to the side and aims his crossbow at the doorway, waiting to fire when the creature comes into view, hissing to Ember to Wait until it comes forth. Ember looks back a bit disgruntled at waiting.
Feeling Lueck`s magic starting to leave his body, Harn does his best to move into the tower and close with the spider, swinging his axe at the spider as he does. ¨First time I`ve had to use an axe ta kill a spider.¨ His voice boomed as his body begins to shrink back to its normal size. The axe seems up to the task however squarely connecting with the arachnids head Greenish goo oozing fort as it slumps dead to the floor almost anticlimactically shuddering it's death coil.

Trevor the Yellow |

Exhaling deeply, relieved to see the spider being dealt with quickly, Trevor tenses a little at the thought of another spider possibly lurking around, hidden. Gripping an arrow and bringing it to the bow, he shouts: "Mighty swing Harn! Stay alert though, there might be more than one..."
He keeps scanning the roof, ready to take a shot. Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Totally understand. Right now I'm working a second job with the Census, so if I am every holding up a round please act for me. Boosting someone else with Cayden's strength is a good way to keep things moving without being too intrusive.
