If a witch has Toughness, and a witch's familiar has Toughness, do those hit points stack for the familiar? A familiar has a number of hit points equal to half its witch's hit points.

I couldn't find a familiar animal that has toughness normally. Then again, I couldn't find pig or goat, so maybe those ones have it? Familiars don't get feats from levels, etc, right? Their HD never actually increases (just for purposes of effects that need to know it's HD).

As far as I know, their hitpoints are tied to their master. They don't get the hitpoints from their HD (which is tied to the toughness feat too), so I'm inclined to say that it's just half of the master's.

Scarab Sages

agree - familiars dont actually get levels or extra HD as the master goes up so they dont get feats so they cant take toughness - pity though

What about an improved familiar? Like a mephit or something?

Same rules apply. They have 1/2 the master's HP, so even if they had the toughness feat it doesn't count for anything, and they don't gain actual HD so there's no opportunity to pick it up.
