Before I got laid off I worked as a graphic designer/marketer. After I got laid off the whole idea of computer graphic design just made my stomach turn. This is my first cartography project in a year and the first time I have really cracked open a graphics program with the intent on doing something major.

For the most, it feels okay. I am happy to start doing some of this again.

Hunh. You and my girlfriend should meet sometimes. She has her B.A. in Graphic Design and should get her certificate for Web Design next month from CSCC. She's been working as a freelancer for Max & Erma's through The Creative Group for the past two years (she had lost her previous job when she was down in Cincy back in May '08).

It would do good for her to gab with someone who's familiar with the tools of the trade (and to expand her pool of friends here in Cols).

I imagine I am not as familiar or experienced as she is, but I can still talk some shop. I have an unfinished graphic design degree just waiting to be completed at CSCC but most of what I know comes from practice and research. I worked exclusively for a children's theatre, which meant my job was also rolled into public relations and box office management.

Not an idiot. Just passionate about your views. Nothing wrong with that, it's just that this is not a good place to actually have a good discussion about sensitive topics (IMO). Too many people have too many axes to grind.

Staples has some external USB hard-drives on sale this week. Check them out.

Shall do. I figure if I can spend $50 or less on one, then I will be happy. How much room should I be looking for?

You won't find one for under $50. It'll be anywhere from $60 - $75 for the cheapest. 250 GB is the lowest, which will be more than sufficient.

Happy Birthday, monkey. :)

And a belated happy birthday to Moff.

Last night's gaming session was good. Story was advanced to everyone's satisfaction and we got to do yet more crazy stupid stuff. And it's always a good thing when you're tactics make the DM crack up laughing. :)

Morning, all. What did I miss?

(And I mean that, because this is a stealth post and I don't have time to read the last 5 pages.)

(Happy Birthday, Patrick!)

Where do you see on for 60? 79 Was the cheapest one I saw in the Staples weekly.

If people don't see the value of the little blue gnomes, either they haven't seen them stomp out a combusting thread, or they love to bask in everburning flames.

It was a couple cases of minis so I should (it's the only way a dm gets all those multiples he wants).

Oh it's getting even better now Dr. Double D. The smurf is hitting the smurf!

Wal-Mart. As for the Staples flyer, I would step up and shell 99 for the 1TB they're pushing in there.

Yes. If I was shelling out $100, then I would buy the 1 TB HDD.

Thanks Iron Man! Well, I have the subscriptions, but my big present was the upcoming mini of Orcus. Now I just have to pray that WotC doesn't skrew it up. Jeremy McG posted that the mini is seeing extremely limited availability in the hobby stores (like 1-2 at most per) but Lisa S said the distributor assured her they could make the preorder Paizo had sent in. So now it's the waiting game ..

Sorry man I wish I could lie to you but I saw the email from the wizards rep at my buddies store. As it stands right now in Canada. 2 of the minis are coming to the entire province of Newfoundland, only 1 is making it too Nova Scotia, none to New brunswick, and P.E.I. So like I said I wish I could have lied about the availability.

Well, Brian, D.Q., and Big A, having nothing better to do, decided to step up their campaign to end the Smurf movie, determined to replace it with a live action version of The Snorks. Across town, Scott and Patrick were getting into plenty of trouble, just for having some fun. Meanwhile, a discussion on free will was interrupted when Gary revealed that he actually controlled everything from his desktop....No, Wait! that's my soap opera.

This concludes our test of the emergency Gary summoning system. Had this been an actual emergency there would have been further instruction on where the smiting was to begin. This concludes our test.

I take it they don't let you combine discounts? Like throw the 15% coupon on top of the 10% educator's?

And of course ... the annual 20% Memorial Day weekend sale is coming up.

Nope. Life couldn't be that great.
