On the topic of babies.

I came just when I wanted to, but I was declared dead at birth. I think my dad's words to the doctor were "If he don't live, neither do you."

Don't worry about HD folks, not that he needs it but if he wants ol Moorluck to show with guns in hand to look after Houstonbaby he's got my number. ;)

All three of my varmits were early arrivals.... Arden in particular.

Seriously? glad the nurse was wrong on that count. Like your dad's response, he he.
Yeah, the cord was wrapped around my neck and I wasn't breathing. Alittle bit of motivation goes a long way though, especially coming from a 6'8" 320 pound man. :P

I had to give the nurse a little motivation when my wife's water broke when she was pregnant with our daughter. I rang the nurse, who, for some reason thought she needed to yell at us for being in the room we were assigned. I gritted my teeth and said "My wife's water broke. Get the doctor. Now." I never raised my voice (I may have decided to use my height to purposely tower over her), but she turned pale and hustled out of the room. I never saw her again during our stay. :)

The missus and I got done with the first coat of paint for the den. We're going to let it dry for a couple hours before we slap on the second coat. Then it'll be time to rip out the carpet. Wish we could afford to replace it, but we're going to go au naturale as there are other greater concerns to which we have to direct our frugal income toward.

What kind of restaurant is bojangles? When I hear that, I think of Elan's puppet...

Bojangles is a superior chicken place to Popeye's. :)

It's my house, I can go bare if I wanna! [/tantrum]

We have the windows open, so paint fumes haven't really been an issue. I'm just not crazy about hauling all the stuff back in if we're not laying down a floor replacement right away. I may keep a bit of stuff in the garage or the basement until we can afford to put down wood laminate floors.

Will the, uh, carpets match the drapes?

Clearly, sir, you are suffering from a fever. Should I get you some medication?

Either that, or you are from a parallel universe.

Or, perhaps you have taken a severe blow to the head?

Maybe the owner of Bojangles is holding your loved ones hostage?

Actually, it has been a while since I've been to a Popeye's. Unfortunately, the one I went to was a pit. I wanted to try it again when I had my work trip to Houston, but that didn't work out.

Well got back from the museum of Making Music. Really cool place, right in Carlsbad, next to legoland and also the resort where we got hitched. Pretty cheap to go to. They had a bunch of stuff like old phonographs, and pianos, and organs, guitars, etc, all the way from 1890 to today, Really neat. This is our anniversary present, for me and wifey and it will be 7 years on monday.

Now, why do I have this itch all of a sudden...he he.

We've talked about doing the same thing to our basement, since we're moving all of our gaming downstairs from the kitchen. We're thinking about going cheapo, and we've found this stuff called Allure that looks pretty resilient and not too shabby for the cheap. Doubt that'll look too good in a den though. :p

What's this Allure? Linky?

Back in Jan I helped my bro-in-law lay down some Jameson 12 mil flooring. Nice stuff. I hold 'til I can do the job right. The carpet is still OK.
We've got that drop and lay stuff here at work. Treppa is a natural with a circular saw... go figure. o_0

My mechanical skills are full of fail. If something needs built or fixed, it's the lil lady that the handywench here at home.

Cajun style chicken? Nomnomnom...

Well....we got the second coat of paint up. Don't think we're going to rip out the carpet after all tonight ... and tomorrow we have to go down to Cincy for the day, so that may be something later. Now she's fussing about Chinese .... and I stink like sweat and salt so I need to get showered in a moment and do manly deeds. :P

Considering the carpet will be gone and haven't decided about drapes ... it's starting to sound smooth and bare. ;)

Sorry for the delay. I ran some errands with the wife. Got me out of this house! Stir craziness has set in.

Well, after I got back from lunch with the wife and picking up the boy's car from the auto service place, my sister brought my nephews over. We went to HPB and got them the Practical Guide for Dragon Riders. They made up halflings in Microlite and we were off to the city of Towers, where a wizard was hiring halflings to train as dragon riders for the city's security force. Braxillica, a female brass dragon, is their instructor. Damn, these wizards are loaded. I'd hate to be the people living in the sub-stories of the city.

Here's a non-vendor site that talks about it. Our friends at Home Depot took us into their break room, where they have had Allure over concrete for more than a year now. Except for one spot where somebody went ballistic on a vending machine, it looked good and felt OK underfoot without any underlayment. Looks easy to work with and comes in more colors now than when it debuted. The price point is much better than the snap-together stuff. We have to measure our basement and get total costs before we decide, though.

Going off to launder the concert attire for tomorrow's performance, then prep for Shackled City. StudlyPuffin is playing Fallout 3, of course. Y'all have a good night, hear?

Oh, well... counting today? Four or five. I've kind of lost count.

Most newer game stuff has disappeared from the big one by today, with the big day tomorrow. But a new PH showed up today, and I'm half-tempted to get it tomorrow morning if it is still there. I guess the Dragon magazines with the inserts still there at a buck each were my most exciting find. I wish Dungeons were more common on the ground.

Oh, in addition to getting the Nevvies the Practical Guide to Dragon Riding, I found the first Hugh Cook book for like 83 cents. Just in time for the Planet Stories volume.

Yeah, but the trolls are pretty dumb. Mistah Badgah is extra crafty... a challenge worthy of your cunning. Plus, he has a hidden jungle lab where he crafts and releases new monsters every Monday.

Maybe you can shoot a couple poodles? They aren't very wily but they are stubbornly resistant to injury (or at least STDs).

And you're right ... I rarely see Dungeon Magazines surface, but I have scored a helluva lot of Dragon Mags with the inserts intact, but I've been getting them for $.50 apiece up here.

Since HPB is Texas based, do they have like the mother of all stores down there? In Columbus, that would be considered the one near OSU campus.

Yeah. The biggest one is on NW Hwy close to me: it's were I usually go. It used to be a Sports warehouse store. There's also a smaller one close by that sometimes has little gems. But honestly, it seems like the Arlington and Mesquite stores get disproportionate amounts of good stuff. On the other hand, only the little out of the way Cedar Hill store has ever had minis, to my knowledge.
