Is he usually aware they're flirting? I admit...I'm usually oblivious to it. I have to be told. "Oh really?"
He is oblivious to it. Unless its way obvious. Liek with the hottie at the bank. :D

If it doesn't work for you, DO NOT let them give you Paxil. You will weight gain. They primarily give that to elderly people to get them to stimulate their eating.

Umm, I'd be uncomfortable naming names in a public forum. I don't know the legal issues I'd be bringing up. I try to stay clear of lawyers.

I think that there would be legal repricussions. You know the situation full well and you could get in trouble.

Yep. So no further info, sorry. But there are asshats no matter where you go for medical treatment, and there always will be. Just like every job it has an amalgamation of nice people and jerks. We just expect a little more from people entusted with our well-being (and some hefty salaries).

I don't know what branch of law the pony deals in, but I sure wouldn't want to face him in battle in a judicial arena.

I think it is business law. But I could be wrong.

Agreed. Arrogant docs suck.

Hokay. Good afternoon everyone. Today was so hectic I couldn't get on until now.
Thank you very much for the support regarding my wife's wallet being lost/stolen. Actually now that the adventure that was yesterday is over, I can confirm that it was stolen. But that is only part of my tale...
ripple effect
After rushing off the forum and out of work yesterday, I ran into manhattan to find my wife at the bank nearest to the train station. It turns out that she found her wallet- in a completely different part of the school. Apparently, after I gave her the number to cancel the debit card, the person attempted to use it, found they couldn't, and simply ditched it. Everything else was inside, even the month-long metrocard(read: bus/train pass) she desperately needed to get around. Non-driver's ID, other info...everything. She literally wept with relief.
However, our problems were not over yet. There was a significant negative balance in her account that ended up being accrued due to something she purchased at Bloomingdale's a few days before being returned, yet was put through on her card anyway. We went from the bank to Bloomie's, where we provided evidence that they were in the wrong. She returned the item AGAIN and this time got credited for it. This was good news, but now we had a couple of overage charges to fight.
We went back to another branch of the same bank right across the street(how convenient!). This is a bank I used to work at, so I was composed and calm, and hoping I remembered my banking etiquette. My wife, unfortunately was quite the opposite, and I almost had to physically drag her through the bank. I still dont' get that. If you dont' fight overage/overdraft charges when you haven't rightfully accrued them, it's like you're giving your money away! But anyway, it turns out that they couldn't help us at that branch- we had to go to our home branch. My wife was ready to call it a day. I was ready to make a few more Diplomacy checks.
We went back to Bloomingdale's to see if we could get them to refund us the overage fee, since they caused it(all with the blessing of the woman at the bank, who made the suggestion in the first place). She explained what happened to the same people, and this time with an account history in hand. They blushed, got a supervisor right away, and agreed to refund- in cash- one of the overage charges. We thanked her profusely, and I, not wanting to push our luck any further, decided to head home and talk to our home branch about this another day.
Wife was ecstatic with me for some reason. It turns out she was never very good with bank stuff, or getting fees refunded, so I was her knight in shining armor. To me it really wasn't anything special, I'm used to fighting for that kinda stuff. So I took her to the nearest Johnny Rockets for a burger and she went home afterwards to study for a test she has today.
ripple effect
And there you have it folks. Work was a little hairy today as there was a lot of paperwork left for me, I still have to referree the Pool Tournament and my boss remains less than enthusiastic about me rushing off, but for the most part, I'm putting this one up in the "Win" column.
Now, what did I miss? Aside from some talk of flirting, that is. Despite being a horrible flirt offline, I don't flirt too much on messageboards- there's something of a disconnect there for me, I think.

Just had a couple of ladies return an item. They purchased it with a 25% off coupon. They wanted a refund for the full amount (item value before coupon). No matter how much I explained it to them, I still think they felt ripped of at only getting refunded as much as they paid. They complained that they lost the value of the coupon. Of course, they made the purchase in October and the coupons expired at the end of December, so it's not like they could have used it now anyway.
*facepalm*
I guess I should take my car in to the showroom and ask for a full refund plus interest I could have earned on that money in the last five years.

Sounds fair to me. After all, if we hadn't bought the old car, we'd have that money to buy the new car now, right? And the fact we don't have that money now is clearly the car dealer's fault. So they should make good.

I can also remember people at the bank coming in with a tiny piece of a $20 bill and hoping to exchange it for a new bill. Apparently they don't see why it would be a problem for someone to rip a 20 into 5 pieces and exchange it for 5 20s.
Or if they had a counterfeit bill and, after I point it out to them, they say we should exchange it for a good bill for them. We weren't the idiots who accepted the counterfeit money, now were we?
