so when is this happening?

Do you mean the update/revision, or living in a closet with Frank Zappa's music? ;)

If you mean the revision, I'd say next Wednesday. In fact, I'm so sure of it, I'd be willing to wager on it -- assuming that the bet was only for an in-game gold piece, that is. ;)

If you mean living in a closet with frank zappa's music, i'd have to say any time you damn well please. he was a beautifully crazy genius, the best kind.

I think the problem is the server cast a fear spell on the paizo crew to keep them away as it is afraid of a meltdown.

can of worms there, it both does fit the meaning and does not fit the most classic of archtypes. An oracle is someone who communes with gods or a divan power not just a seerer

I am very aware of this,

then if you dont mind, explain it to me, how the oracles powers and all fit .

Don't do it, Seeker, it's a trick.

Steelfiredragon, please don't threadjack this thread to kvetch about the Oracle. There's a whole board for it. This thread I'd like to click on when it says there is something new and hope to see something about the release of APG revisions.

Thanks.

How did that post even get in this thread??

I was guessing she meant next Wednesday when she said it last Friday. Last Wednesday seemed to soon from last Friday compared to this Wednesday.

Lisa was trying to be a bit cagey and a little funny and it backfired into her face. :)

I truly thought we would have some revisions up this past week sometime, but I should have known better than to try to gauge the timing like that. How about soonish?

Considering how many classes you're adjusting and the scope of the work I'm sure the wait is worth it.

I imagine you're wanting to get as close to the final product as possible with this revision since I doubt there would be a 3rd wave for us to test.

It's ok. Everyone knows those magic 8 balls are never right anyway.

Is there any reason why the classes are all being dumped out together in their revised form? Seems like it would make more playtesting sense to get the revisions for what's ready out there so testers could put them through their paces.

Thanks for checking in, Lisa.

Perhaps they're wanting to get us something that looks like the final book?

I agree that the design team has plenty to consider and think upon; so, it is understandable that it is going to take some thinking.

1> For example, how fundamental a problem is it having so many of the Cavalier's abilities tied to a mount if they have trouble getting that mount into adventure situations? Horses and dungeons don't usually mix.

Personally, I think the challenge system provides the central gain for the class but I think people would be happy with a choice of companion animal (war dog, panther, eagle, wolf, etc) which might be more dungeon friendly.

The bonus to charge could be then moved to a bonus when charging and not be required to have a mount to make it work.

2> The Oracle needs a determination on how to replace the Cleric's divine chanelling ability with some other damage avoidance or healing effect.

Currently, Divine Channeling has so many Divine Feats (backwards compatability) and saves the need for so many spells that Oracle should have some ability to reduce the demand on their own spell lists. There are plenty of ways to do this without giving divine channeling.

3> The Summoner got an early fix to bring it into playable standards but decisions need to made on how powerful are the evolutions. What kinds of limits need to put on the evolution choices, costing, etc? I even had a proposal to just focus on the evolution choices and drop the rest of the class. Most people though agreed this class still needs some work to determine a better balance of powers. The Eidolon is a great idea but making it work is the challenge.

4> Those are just some of the bigger issues that are on top of making the various power lists work or deliver a balanced level of bang ( Oracle and Alchemist are two of those but the Witch needs work too ).

I bet there are some lively little meetings and debates on where to go with the existing core of these classes and more on where they want to expand for the APG.

I do want to thank Jason and the designers at Paizo for a fun playtest to see what is coming this summer.

Nah, things don't blow up in Lisa's face. I say somebody else has to take the blow back.

Edit: If you want to read the revision in that closet, you might want to bring a flashlight. You could also listen to flashlight.

I used to unload trucks & stock shelves for Wal-Mart. One night we got a box of Magic 8-Balls, two of them were broken so I got to see what was inside. What I personally find amusing is that you're still rolling a d20 when you use a Magic 8-Ball, Lisa.

I used to be an unloader too. Fun fun fun.

Well, it WAS fun once you had a couple drinks. Pulling pallets with a buzz... now that IS fun.

Ah yes the joy of unloading trucks and pulling pallets to the floor for stocking in a store hat never closes...I think the bleach and water pallets were the worst.

Bumping water softener pallets off the truck when the driver doesn't line up the truck with the bay correctly was THE WORST.

Gods yes, or the fun days when ya need to unload the pallet and reload it by hand

seekerofshadowlight wrote:

We just tortured the pallet jack. We'd rather just shrinkwrap the pallet, pull it all the way to the back of the truck, and run as fast as we can out of the truck hoping to get enough air that the jack isn't destroyed. LOL.

We did that more then a few times, we broke one as well.

seekerofshadowlight wrote:

"Alright, I got a jack."

"Whoa whoa whoa. WTF are you doing?? We can't use one of the GOOD jacks for this. Go get one of the crappy orange ones."

Lol, yeah ares were crappy red ones with the good new grey ones, stockers over night were bad to hid jacks as we did not have alot and if you planned to pull pallets all night and not get stuck with a crap one ya best find a good hiding spot

seekerofshadowlight wrote:

Yep. The CROWN were the good ones. They were lighter. The big fat orange ones were the suck.

Ye[ that was the brand, CROWN, can't recall what the others were, but the CROWN were lighter and seemed to pull better. The red ones were old and looked like they had been beat a few thousand times with a car or something. Junk is putting it nicely

seekerofshadowlight wrote:

I think calling those pieces of crap "junk" is an insult both to junk and crap.

I had one of those red pallet jacks where the wheel was stuck, meaning you literally had to drag that sucker across the floor, even when there wasn't anything on it.

shudder, ya it was bad if ya had a full pallet one it, I swear you could have done about as good if ya lad it on rubber and pulled it. Not sure who made those things but they needed beat with em

You haven't lived until you've "crop dusted" a bunch of unwary customers while passing them with a pallet. Can you smell what the 4-1's got cookin??????

LOL

heh, yeah they love you even more if ya work on the floor crew,go aisle to aisle using a propane buffer that sounds like a v-8 with no muffler and see how much they just love ya then. Try pushing around one of them 270 pound warhorse buffers for 6 or 7 hours talk about junk

"Who wants to go get propane?"

/crickets

"Come on, guys, we need propane for the buffers."

/cough

"It doesn't smell up your car THAT bad... hey, where's everybody going...?"

we sold it, and had it delivered, the fun part was going and getting it at 11 pm , that meant getting a store manger, to 1: answer the page. 2: come over there{took 20 mins most time} and 3: go outside with you to get the damned thing.

Repeat before you get to leave in the morning as well. It was a hella chore and they didn't care you were behind because they took a freaking hour to bring you the key or it was raining and they didn't want to go outside or let you take the key. Just fun

I did have one of them damned things catch fire on me, freaked a costumer out more then me. I was used to that junk braking at that point

What is this... "on topic" you speak of?

Besides, keeps the thread at the top and Lisa will update it whenever maybe and we can all go back to having nergasms.

someone called you on it, and I called them on their wal-mart convo (albeit more sarcastically) the only reason I didn't say it sooner was that I just checked the thread and saw 16 new and got excited hoping to hear news and nope, just a bunch of wal-mart talk. But someone called them on it just the same way they called you on it (granted someone was on you the second you asked and it took me checking up to call them on it)

Eh on or off really didn't matter to me. But the oracle name stuff has been done past death. If someone does not think it fits making this thread into like the 19th thread saying the name does not fit won't change anything.

That is why he was called by someone if I had to guess, it has been done past death, it has been kill..made undead..killed and brought back to start off again so many times. Lest that's how I guessed it, I really didn't see his question

Why I find it fits

Spoiler:

To me an oracle is not just a seerer, that is a type of oracle sure but not the all of the spectrum of what they are. The name to me seems to point to someone who acts out the will of something beyond mortal keen. Some great focus or goal. Many are granted visions to see what others can not, others are a goal or power to spread the desire of said power. You are a vessel to the powers greater then gods or mortals. You are the champion of creation the voice of your focus, its instrument, it's Oracle.

Yeah. There's off-topic and then there's OFF-topic. Two totally different things.

Hey blame Lisa she started it with the whole 8-ball thing. Totally her fault
