RPG Superstar™ 2010 General Discussion

Dark Archive

Shortly after the beginning of the year:
"Ooh, RPG Superstar, sounds like a nifty contest. wonder when that starts."

"2010, eh. Nice, wonder what the first event is."

"Create a wondrous item? bah. I'll wait for round two. What did they have last year?"

"Ooh, monsters, I love monsters. In fact I could just save the one I've made and turn that in."

"When does that part begin?"

"Hmm, Tuesday the 19th? Can't wait!"

---
(time passes)
---

"The finalists from round one may..."

"WHAT?!?"

(re-reads the rules)

Rules: "The top 32 entries, as selected by our judges, may proceed to further contest rounds with additional requirements. The requirements of subsequent rounds must be met by the contestants in order to maintain eligibility for any prizes. "

To those of you who made it this far, I congratulate you! Not only on your RPG skillz, but also your organizational skills! And your ability to read!

Lord knows SOMEONE could have used a periapt of wisdom +2. I will never underestimate wondrous items again.

Sad but funny.

And welcome to the Paizo forums, by the way, if nobody's said that since your first post last May. :)

No need.

As is the case with any great rpg, time is better spent diving headfirst in, and then sorting out the details later.

RPG Superstar 2010 Top 32 aka Sollir

Who knew Illithids could be so entertaining? =) "Hey, get your palms-er, tentacles off my brain!"

For what it's worth, I pondered submitting the first year but missed the deadline mostly due to forgetfulness. Then I felt rushed and foolish with my ideas the second year and finally got the guts/remembered to submit this year! RPG Superstar looks to be a pretty successful event, and I imagine they'll keep on doing it as long as it holds that interest. Even if magic items aren't your cup of tea, IIRC it's been the qualifying round for all three years so far, so plot and plan 'til the next RPG Superstar!

And welcome to the boards! (Not that I should talk, I've pretty much been a lurker here as well ;-))

I did the *exact* same thing two years ago. Welcome, brother.
