A compilation of failed entries?

Marathon Voter Season 9

I think it could be kind of cool. Of course, you'd have to get permission from the authors, but I think a lot of them would be happy to give it up for free. A PDF of it all would be cool.
Actually, this sounds like something Wayfinder could do. The Voluntary Reject Bin has shown a lot of ideas that were never fully developed. Maybe a 'self-rejected Superstar ideas' article in each issue, with a bunch of stuff from each contest? Or even a completely separate thing, since that could take up a lot of space.

I am sure, with the thousand + entries in this contest, keeping up with current projects, and all the other things that go on behind the scenes, that Paizo could be content to keep the rejects exactly where they are... on the boards. :D

Just my 2cp.

Heh, good point. That being said, I kind of like the idea of Wayfinder including rejected ideas, it kind of plays into the idea behind it.

Technically you wouldn't need the authors go ahead( though I think it would definitely be the polite thing to do ). Paizo owns the rights to all submissions( the successes and the failures ) so they can do whatever they want with them.

Let's clear one thing up...Paizo and Wayfinder are two separate entities. The only people who have the right to reprint anything from the RPG Superstar competitions, failed entry or not, is Paizo.

I could be wrong but I think KC was talking about stuff that people had thought about submitting but didn't, and put into the "voluntary rejection" thread instead... in which case the author should retain ownership.

He was, but I wanted to clear up any potential confusion, as KC asked this question elsewhere. Posted in the Voluntary Reject thread is different...but I hold Wayfinder to high standards, and items submitted for inclusion therein will be scrutinized as well. :)

I thought he was talking about entries that failed to win, as they would have had to have been entered in order to be an entry.

As Lil pointed out Paizo owns those, and thus are the only people who could potentially publish them.

... Yeah I know. That doesn't mean KC wasn't referring to them.

Yeah, I knew that.

...after Lilith told me on another thread. I'd already posted this thread before she informed me.
So, assume for the purposes of this idea that it's self-rejected.
And yes, I know Wayfinder and Paizo are separate. I was around when the first Wayfinder was still in the works, whippersnapper! However, Wayfinder has always, oddly enough, seemed like a bit of an offshoot. Maybe it's the names, maybe the fact that it seems to generally expand on Paizo works (thus making an article for self-rejected Superstar ideas rather appropriate),or maybe it's because it's produced by something called 'Paizo Fans United'.
:P
