I'm not a fan of DM Saab stories.

Nyuk! Nyuk!

sees something wriggling in the corner. either a worm or a troll finger digit. lights match and holds it next to the vermin. squashes it with his shoe.

One of the best, most fun games I ever played was entirely based on DM fiat because the DM had written the whole system himself.

Why couldn't you guys get a copy of those rules?

He got transfered and I had no computer to use the disk he offered me. That was back when they used five inch floppies.

And those were a step up from the cassettes used on Commodores. Whoo boy.

You're just saying that because you were the big bad DM. XP

I wish. I would have published the system and made some money off of it.

What I wrote.

RamboJesus wrote:
So you guys are fine with a DM just simply killing off one (or more) of your characters in the group? just because they wanted to?

I am fine with it. In fact I once played in a campaign where the DM started out by saying, "Everyone dies, and then you wake up on the shores of an unfamiliar river." Totally awesome campaign by the way.

<sings off-key> the rules, the rules, set the rules on fire. we don't need no stinkin' rules let the Muddafrakker burn. burn muddafrakker burn. </sings off-key>

So I have three tomatos, an onion, a serrano pepper, a jalapeno pepper, and a clove of garlic in the over to make roasted tomato salsa. It smells great in here.

What's going with it? I can almost smell it from here.

How's it going, FAWTLers?

Maybe an alternative route should be recommended; civility isn't getting you anywhere. I can almost read testiness (sic) that's coming through your posts in that thread. Something must be invoked. :P

Pretty much :)

Hey CH...I myself am wondering where David finds this stuff. So great for my Champions games.

Invoke what? Pray tell!

Possible Invocation:
Shut up, dumb ass, you don't know what you're talking about as evidenced by its blatant incoherence!

Yeah, if emotion has entered my logic, it is in the last two posts. Esp. the last one.

I don't know just yet. Someone may have to unleash ... the kraken. Only then will they realize that the PCs are not on equal terms as the DM regardless of whatever utopian Star Trek society they think they dwell in.

But alas, if I only knew who can wield such power...

Spockurion wrote:

Nah, that would be too easy to resort to. Something must be summoned on such great trollish levels that it would result in the unholy offspring of AMiB and Frank Trollman. Something that would even unsettle the Spawn of Rovagug & mighty Cthulhu himself.

Consult the orcales, I must.

You rang?

What happened to my ass? I see. I left it on the floor while I was rolling around laughing. Most unfortunate for me.

Besides, if Star Trek was really utopian ... it would be ... booooring. There would be no one for Kirk to karate chop, for instance. No Romulans, no Klingons, No Borg.... no 7 of 9!

They can take their DM fiat and drive it off the Chappaquiddick.

Mairk - rather than having your blood pressure go past the boiling point, I see that you gracefully bowed out of the conversation. It is the primary reason why I try to elude getting involve in these debates as it isn't going to change much. The internet brings out the 'I must be right at all costs even if I have to change the flow of the conversation to something inane and not on topic just to throw off the other individual and peppering liberal doses of linguistical semantics' in the average netizen.

Sometimes the passion for reason overpowers me, but alas, in an unreasonable world, I must master it.

I hope the exit was gracious. I still felt like I needed to signal people that their crap was unwelcome.

No, no, my leafy friend. Give in to your passions. It makes you all the more delicious.
