Hej!
My brother told me about this on the telephone this evening. He says exactly the same thing as you. We have this similar problem in Sweden that men pretend to be women online as a method to meet up. Usually, I think these are shy guys but sometimes it's very creepy!
Hej Anna!
Now that you're in London for university, I'm sure similar issues happen there as well. As for shy guys ... sometimes it goes along with social awkwardness because they just don't know how to present themselves and .... like you say comes across creepy!
P.S. Is your brother letting you "out" him on here? Just curious if we know 'em. :D

A lot of people have that misconception about me. I'm a highly sociable person, it's just that I don't flaunt it all that much. I love to talk, but I love listening more. Like I've said before, my mom is flooded with paperwork and house chores/duties atm. When that all blows over, I am going to back to school and am also going to look into becoming a voice for the folks that have down syndrome. As being as intelligents as I am and having mosaic downs, I'm sure that I could do a lot of good.
But it sounds like you don't leave the house much and you keep awkward wake/sleep hours. And when you talk about things that you're not allowed to do because of your mother, you come across as being read like you're a teenager rather than a 30+ year old. That's just my impression; don't take offense to it. You did ask. :D

I'm not offended. I can easily keep regular hours, if I choose to do so. If I lived on my own I wouldn't have to vent about what I couldn't/not allowed to do.

Ok. I have to ask - how do I even come across to you guys?
You seem to have a good head on your shoulders, and I rarely see you get angry. You have a wide range of knowledge, and you like to share it, but definitely not in a pedantic way.
Overall, I consider you one of the "good guys".

You've got that cool scholarly air about you. I'm a computer dweeb. :)
You know, after I blew up at my ex-boss for telling me that I was going to take a paycut to make an internal move, I found out that I have a "reputation" for blowing up at people. Yes, I have gotten frustrated with people who keep me from getting my job done effectively, and I have a real problem with liars (which is the main reason I blew up at my ex-boss, when he told me that he had already informed me about the paycut). Then I found out that part of that "reputation" came from my ex-boss, because I brought him into another issue (before I knew better) where HR was f%#$ing around with my 401K without communicating with me, and I got angry with the HR person who was hiding behind their stupid bureaucracy.

Oh hey, TAD, I saw your e-mail address earlier, and I remembered a person who posted under that name. Are you the same person? I ask, because if that's the case, you've been around these boards for a while. :)
Yup, I am. Previously known as Frukathka & Reveille. After my shennanagins on enworld, I thought it was high time for a new messegeboards internet identity.

J/K.
I've never posted over there.

I was curious. I was never really on enworld, so I don't know what you're talking about there, and I won't bug you about it. :)

What is it about women and sports? Sports, sports, sports, ... it's all she ever talks about. I want dinner; she's watching hockey. I want nookie; she's watching short track speed skating. What's a guy to do? Am I right?
Hmmm, it sounds like you have a unique problem there, Tarren. Urizen will be by shortly with some advice.

That should win her over for nookie.
Not if Kim Yu-na or Lee Ho-Suk are on the ice.

Do an exotic dance for her then. Yes, while the TV is blaring.

Are you trying to get me hit or laughed at or both?

Just pitching ideas. You're the one that knows what turns her on, so flip the switch. ;)

I work in an office full of engineers, and a lot of them have Dilbert cartoons posted on the cubicle walls. Some of his stuff is eerily familiar.
I've worked in similar situations in manufacturing, and it's mind boggling how directly he hits the nail on the head. I've had bosses take offense because they thought I posted specific Dilbert cartoons to highlight their personal incompetence and bad decisions (which was true).

Ah, good. See, you may still conclude that we are chauvinistic male pigs of one stripe or another, I just want you to conclude that for the right reasons, after you know us for a while. ;)

Dude. What is the deal with Asian chicks and sports!? :@
In my case, at least it's American football and not the Olympics.

Also, I have a hard time keeping my mouth closed with improvements that could be made, so I think they know I'm doing all I can. Did I mention my job entails talking to people about sex for hours on end? I'm not into my brothers who aren't into mothers, but come on..talking about sex..for HOURS. How could I not enjoy this?Freehold DM wrote:flash_cxxi wrote:Mac Boyce wrote:[hypnotism]You want to buy Final Fantasy 13...you want to buy Final Fantasy 13...[/hypnotism]Nah... last FF I bought was 7. lol... you don't know me very well then! ;)
Although I do think I have good taste in women... you'd agree right Moorluck?
Freehold DM wrote:To answer your question, my second job (Sex Research in the MSM community) now has a second facet- in addition to searching bars and nightspots for people who may be interested, I'm also looking online at a lot of MSM sites. It's more or less the same hours, but it's also more responsiblity, and since I truly love my second job, I'm all over it.OK then. That sounds like it would be difficult. How do you go about it in bars and such? Online communities seem like easier targets ("targets" sounds too harsh, but I was at a loss for another word so don't take it too badly), so the new facet sounds like it would be a lot easier for you to meet a quota (do you havce a quota?).
I like how this conversation started with Final Fantasy and immediatly devolved into "Guy Love". It feels like I'm at work with all my friends.
