Around $20. And the upkeep on them is pretty low, just gotta keep that litter clean. Their urine has a HIGH amonia content. O_o
Got any recommendations? The missus has a friend stopping by tonight as she passes through town and I've been cleaning house. Aside from some animal smells (four cats and a dog does that), but now that my oldest one has moved on, I've been trying to find remedies to lift the scent until we have the money to completely remove the carpet and replace it with faux wood. I'm going to move to a trend of not having carpet in future homes unless it's a large throw.

I use Simple Solution. I LOVE that stuff. It cleans out the stains and icky smells from pee, poop, or throw-up and actually makes them go away for good. I've had cats with territory issues, dogs with health problems, and of course a kid. I know, I know. It's a pet product. But it cleans that horrid smell out of bedding when nighttime accidents occur.

Good on this end, for the most part anyway. N.T.I. is a little disappointed she didn't get to try her 356hp toy out, but she'll get over it.

How 'bout you?

Outstanding this evening.

And from your perspectiv?

...tidbit from work this week

We received a security briefing email this week.

It was a short discussion regarding the rules on how to deal with security regarding various SAC badges dependent upon the color.

Of course, an SAC badge is a Security Access Card badge which is redundant. So, the proper terminology is a SAC.

Now, one of the things discussed in this briefing is what are the appropriate actions to take when you approach someone who is not correctly displaying his (or her!) SAC.

Of course, all that I could think of was that as far as I'm concerned there is no "correct" way for someone that I am approaching to be displaying his SAC. Furthermore, although a "her" incorrectly displaying her SAC has some novelty value I would still not want to see it.

Then the discussion turned to proper "escort and entry" controls for individuals that have blue SACs and Green SACs.

First, this was difficult to process as a whole because I do not want to hear anything about "escort and entry" controls based upon someone's SAC color.

Second, I have no intention of being an "escort" for someone with a blue SAC.

Finally, I can't think about security procedures for someone with a green SAC when it is impossible to get out of my head the idea that the individual should be taken to the dispensary immediately.

Well, that is about it for now regarding my week at work.

Did everyone have hot dates tonight? Why don't I have one? :P

Might be maybe found someone (hopefully) to adopt our dogs. Meeting with them in the morning. Now I have to explain this to the kidlet. He knows we're not keeping them, but I think he's gonna have a hard time saying goodbye. I really hope they decide to take them. I both want the dogs to have a good home and I want to stop running across town to go take care of them multiple times a day. And they're so sad and lonely now that we're not in the house anymore. :(

I've changed my diet a little bit, starting snacking on bananas and apples instead of candy bars, plus controlling portions. I am in the process of trying to find foods high in iron, because like a fool I gave up red meat for lent.

I give it a total of 4 or 5 days before I break then it will limit itself to pork. As far as I know right now, the absence makes it taste all the better

Today some of my players learned a valuble lesson. Never brag that the DM can't come up with anything that can kill you if you don't want him taking it as a challange. And I did it with just an NPC party the same level as my PCs.

Same here. At the moment, the wife is watching the latest episode of Psyche, but after that, mayeb I'll try for a movie.

Or, I'll read some Pathfinder goodness.

Or, stay on Paizo, maybe the chatroom.

Or, drink some beer (Ok that's not an "or").

I'll probably just hang out here, maybe play some MUA2. I haven't been in the chat room for a few months.

I'll pass on the beer, give me a Mt Dew Throwback. ;)

Cooking with a crock-pot is boring. :(

I might do the cornbread bit. Excellent idea with chili.

Other tidbits from work this week...

1. We had a couple workers from another lab spend a few days using one of our calibrators. One was cool and brought me some homemade beef jerky after we started talking about cooking. Yeah for free food.

2. This also led to a discussion of an interesting dish: pork seasoned with pork. Basically it involves taking a pork roast, cutting slits in it before cooking, and then stuffing the pork roast with bacon. MMMM bacon.

3. One of my co-workers (retired US Navy) told a funny stunt that I cannot believe he did. His wife is Phillippino and they have been married for 30 years. He had previously made the mistake of doing his own taxes and then had her hound him over and over saying 'so and so took this as a deduction why didn't you', etc. etc. So, now he takes their taxes to a tax service and brings hers back to sign. So, this year he brought back about an inch thick of paper and told her she needed to sign in about four places which she did without reading. He then informed her that they were now officially divorced and he would see her later. I don't think the joke went over too well. :(
