You're a Grand Old Flag
by George M. Cohan
*
[Ethel Merman]
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

So far, I've been happy with my Sunken Empires patronage. I'm learning quite a bit, and I'm getting to contribute.
It'll be my first patronage project, so I have to be careful as the only other thing I'm trying to spend on are my subscriptions.
What did you contribute to Sunken Empires?
I'm not sure I can say, since it hasn't been released yet, and some of the stuff that looked like it was going in might not end up actually going in. It's not like I signed anything, though. Ergh. I don't know.
I'll definitely share when From Shore to Sea and Sunken Empires release.
I'm in on the From Shore to Sea/Sunken Empires Project as well, but so far I haven't even joined in any discussions. They use LiveJournal don't they? I don't have an account and I wasn't sure about signing up for one...

They use LiveJournal, and it's not too difficult to sign up for an account. Starting with the newest Pathfinder Open Design project, it looks like all the work is going to be done on a private section of the KQ forums.

Do you guys know anything about the Alienware computers? We are getting a second laptop and I am trying to figure out which one I want. :)
Great computers all around, though a little rich for my wallet. So, lay out your money on the processor, video card and at least 4mb of ram (if not more). :D
No matter what choice you make it will be a good one.

Powerful and pricey, in a nutshell. I looked into one over the holidays myself, but for the price Micro Center wanted for a 14" Alienware laptop, I got a shiny 17.3" HP Pavilion dv7. :)

No hot water this morning.
:(
Of course, one of the perks of living in an apartment is someone else has to fix it, but it would be nice if they had communicated anything at all. I called the after-hours maintenance number about it at about 6:45, they said they paged the maintenance person about it, and then I never heard anything at all. We just kept checking it and at about 9:15 we suddenly had hot water again. It's still lame and it still made me late for work.

The thing is is that I don't want Windows 7. Its too much of a pain since there is so little software that is compatible. We have it at the store and it is a huge mess.
You gotta remember though that the software you have at the Store is probably older proprietary software or if it's not then it will be updated, but it's possible the owner won't shell out for the newer version. I have seen this many times before, people have an old version and don't pay for the upgrades, then something goes wrong and all of a sudden they can't do anything with it.
I have heard nothing but good things about Win7 (OK I have heard some gripes, but not many).

As my oldest friend (who runs an IT consulting firm) told me, Windows 7 is what Vista was supposed to be. :)
The only problem I've had on my laptop with it is that Internet Explorer sometimes dies on me (and if it happens, I just switch to Google Chrome). Other than that, it runs quite nicely, even with the software I use for gaming.
