Inquisitor: Divine Bard?

Round 3: Alchemist and Inquisitor

He is a Divine Bard of sorts.

He gets the jump on initiative rolls with his Cunning Initiative ability and then he identifies the enemy's strengths and weaknesses with his Monster Lore.

He picks a suitable Judgment based on what he has learned and uses Tactical Feats to gain extra bonuses.

His spells are mainly Divine with a sprinkling of Arcane.

He can deal with Poison, Disease, Ability damage and hit point damage.

He can buff himself.

He has utility with spells like invisibility, Knock etc.

However, Judgments need to be usable more often per day imo.

On the whole, I really like this Class.

Shadow Lodge

If by Bard, you mean old school, badassicus Bard, sure.

I honestly think the number of times per day for judgement is good. It matches an existing ability, smite. It is important to use existing classes as a guide for balance purposes.

But I too like the class. I dont have an opportunity to play one in the near future, but it is on my list.

Sure but it could match the Rage point system, or the 3 + Wis /day system that also already exist, and would grant more uses/day.

I just think it might be too powerful at low levels if it is usable more per day. You would have to reconsider the whole variety of abilities it grants. It is already very flexible, adding to that might make it too much. That said, the class already has a rounds per day mechanic in bane, another may not be a good idea.

I hear you but I'm looking at the boost that Smite grants and then at the slow round by round power-up of Judgments and it really isn't all that strong, lots of combat is over after 5 rounds!
