I noticed Valeros has the least detailed backgrounds of the twelve iconics. Have there been any updates to spice it up a little?
Apart from the short description he gets in his character sheet when he appears in a Pathfinder AP as a pregen character... nope.
I've been considering re-releasing the backgrounds for all four of the initial four iconics, actually, as we didn't really hit our stride, I think with the backstories until Ezren. Merisiel's for example, spends most of its time talking about the Forlorn elves and not Merisiel. And Valeros's is completely blah.
Would folks be interested in a more detailed set of "re-meet" the first 3 or 4 iconics blog post series?

I think that would be cool, James. I think having the "offical," more fleshed-out backgrounds of the later iconics really helps cement them into Golarion. It'd be nice to see that for the first 4 as well.

Hell yes. :)

You said you'd get it on the schedule, but I'd like to throw my +1 on the pile.
I am interested in how Valeros and Merisiel became such stalwart companions.
They're not, really. No more so than either is with any of the other iconics. These backgrounds generally detail the character in a bubble, without touching upon any of the other iconics at all. That way it's easy to mix and match them together into parties as we want for the sample PCs at the back of adventures.

Thought so! OK! We'll get these on the blog schedule for sometime soon!
See, we're ravenous for Pathfinder fiction, especially about the Iconics... and it's past time you told us which of the iconics has the hots for Seoni. :)

yeah what he said. Eventually we will want to see some info on the iconics and how they meet and more importantly how they get along. maybe in the eventual novels.

And here I thought Valeros and Seoni were dating.

My money is on Merisiel.
The way I see them meeting is basically Seoni got herself cornered by some angry villagers who thought she was a witch. Valeros saved her, and some where along the line they encountered Merisiel who has tagged along ever since. Kyra probably sticks around because in a motherly way feels responsible for the three of them.
Seoni and Valeros bickering (as Valeros is the frat boy) would serve as an interesting counter point to Merisiel doting over Seoni.

Damsel in distress, really? How could a Fighter get a Sorceress out of a position she couldn't get herself out of, anyhow? With, you know... magic.

Given the stated limitations, I can live without. If the blog is going to include characters with some original fiction, I'd rather see original fiction that isn't under artificial limitations that renders it necessarily flavorless and contextless. I wouldn't mind seeing some original fiction, preferably original fiction in a form I can steal for my own games, that involved the iconics, be it a description of interparty dynamics, how to actually use some of them in a game, or the like, but just getting more contextless background on a generic character is not something I'd care to read.
Then again, it's free, but you did ask.

that just begs for an iconics swim wear contest! (hey one of them is already wearing a bikini!)
thou to be honest something i would like to see would be as short description on what each of the iconics likes/dislikes does in their free time ect

Something tells me..
Valeros drinks and wenches.
Merisiel buys new daggers.
Amiri sharpens her sword.
I could go on.. :P

Alright, my bet:
Valeros gets with any moderately attractive barmaid in town, but probably doesn't "trust" Seoni that way. Too sorcerous, if she made a pass at him it is probably because she wants something. Val seems like a bit of a chubby-chaser too... High STR, breaking the poor girl is likely a concern.
Seoni probably sees Valeros as an employee almost, and I doubt she's attracted to him at all. He does seem like kind of a prick. Wis 13 should be enough to steer her away from a man who takes those kind of stupid risks, has no decent intangible qualities, and makes the same amount of money as she does.
Merisiel seems like (meaning no disrespect) the kind of girl who is more interesting in the bling than the fling — and she's not bright enough to be self-aware about it. She's probably not interested in relationships but occasional deludes herself into being smitten by someone really flashy. Could be Val, but he's a little coarse to pull it off, and I bet he's bad with money.
Amiri? Well. Maybe if they were both drunk enough. But that would probably scare the crap out of Val and the campaign would be really awkward thereafter.

See I imagine that Val and Amari end up together the same way that Mel Gibson and Rene Russo do in Lethal Weapon 3. Everyone else is in bed, they are standing watch together, comparing scars and it just leads places.

that or so equally adventurer related activity like falling in love after killing a dragon or always being healed at the same time by the cleric who is wondering why s/he even bothers with those two
