Good luck, fellow American friends living in Seattle area or willing to abandon their foolish lives and relocate there :)

"This is a temporary, open-ended, contract position for a period of at least 3 months."

Most adults, especially those with a current job and 4 years of college/experience need a bit more security than that, not to mention if you have to relocate on your own expense. Speaking primarily for myself of course. :)

This of course being the operative phrase. I know plenty of people that have had years of experience in editing that are out of a job, and I think the jobless rate for recent college graduates is through the roof right now. For somebody with very little experience an opportunity like this could be golden.

They just hired Rob!

Paizo is seriously flushed with post-RPG release success, activity and that golden glow of a healthy publishing company!

EDIT: Unless this is more temporary to catch up with the glut of delayed products, as it seems upon reading it.

It's kind of a little bit of both, actually!

You guys are backwards, aren't you supposed to lay off employees after a major launch ;)

James, if you could just hold the position for about six years, I'll submit an application as soon as I retire from the Navy... ;-)

In all seriousness, my wife and I consider the Seattle area on our short list of post-Navy locations. I would love to live in an area with such a strong concentration of creative energy.

Or just wait one and a half and I'll give up physics to apply! :D Well, swop which is the hobby and which the career!

As luck would have it, I graduate from the university in a couple weeks and Paizo is an organization I'd be extremely interested in joining.

You already did Serpent Kingdoms and Exalted Deeds back when you were at WotC...

Maybe you could do something for hamsters this time?

"The Book of Deeds for Exalted Hamster Kingdoms"? :)

Congrats on the pending graduation!

Well, I must say that if left completely unfettered, clowns would be the big winners. As in a kingdom ruled bloodthirsty despotic painted clowns!

Thanks! I'm looking forward to finally going on to bigger and better things.

Just a heads up all, there's an additional conversation with my initial comments going on over here.

You know, this is the first time in my life I've ever been envious of the various out-of-work former English majors I know. I never thought being gainfully employed in a relatively secure job would ever end up being a bad thing. :P

Deal. If either one of you can provide me with an English degree, you can have my dead-end, blue-collar job. :P
