Valeros' Lucky Tankard?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Shadow Lodge

I noticed that it was not present on his equipment list in Burnt Offerings, and then it showed up on his list in The Skinsaw Murders. I can't find any information about it, and I would like to know if there is an explanation to come, or if the mystery will remain?

Cheers

We haven't got much information on it except this piece.

I'm pretty sure someone asked way back when, its just an item for totally fluff purposes, to make Valeros a more interesting and nuanced character, and suggest his personality and outlook in his statblock in some small way.

It may be a Tankard of the Drunken Hero from Gods and Magic. Or it may just be his lucky tankard.

It's an adamantine +3 water elemental bane tankard.

I have it from a reliable source that it's an adamantine +3 water elemental bane tankard.

I have it from KaeYoss, who heard it from a reliable source, that it's a diamond studded +3 water bane tankard.

Sometime a tankard is just a tankard, like a cigar...

I seem to remember it was also used as a nice way of foreshadowing his deity.....

Muck like rumor also holds that Harsk's teapot is secretly a variant orb of storms.

Personally, I give more credence to the claim that Seoni's tattoos are actually a treasure map.

It's basically Valeros's holy symbol. He's not a divine caster, though, so we decided to have a little fun with it. It's just a dented tankard he's always had handy, and therefore it's his lucky tankard. We throw quirky little items onto these guys' gear lists relatively often, be they Lini's sticks or Merisiel's huge knife collection or Harsk's tea pot. Mostly because Wayne Reynolds is super awesome at giving the iconics quirky gear.

And that would make the most popular treasure map of all time! I know I'd like to follow it.

Does it detail the hills, valleys and water catchment areas?

*DUCKS*

Thank you, everyone. :D

But what about Kae's reliable source? I have it from the good captain (who heard it from Kae, who, in turn, heard it from that reliable source of his) that it's a +3.5 adamantine-studded vomit-bane tankard...
