He can't be part in/out of a wall...he's either vulnerable or he's not. If you say spacewise, might be allowable...if the DM is really lenient. It certainly doesn't protect him...either he's completely inside the stone or he's not, and if not, he's completely vulnerable. Earthgliding doesn't grant cover bonuses.

Agreed, however the combat section on cover already goes over this. The attacker chooses which 'square' of your squares you are in to determine cover, and which 'square' they are in to determine cover you have from them.

An effective TWF build, that is not a rogue or ranger, has been driving me nuts.

By this, do you mean, you've been looking for one? Or dealing with one?

If it's the second, I'd very much like to hear the details. If it's the first, I'd be happy to come up with a decent Fighter or Paladin build.

I'm just trying to figure out where he's adventuring where he can get away with being HUGE all the time. I know we get outdoor adventures but our group spends a good third or more of it's time indoors or in dungeons. Huge size would fill even large rooms and you have to squeeze to get through most 10' hallways.
If he's doing earth elemental though he can be part in part out of the wall.

It's my understanding that the druid does *NOT* recieve the elemental subtype, and unless it's specifically part of the spell (checking). I.E. The druid receives nothing unless it's listed in the spell.

It says they get 'Earth Glide', and I can't seem to find a definition of that. Whatever that ability is, should spell out if they can be in or out of stone.

Yeah, you can find Earth Glide in the 3.5 MM (and presumably in the Bestiary when it comes out), but it doesn't exactly spell out much of anything when it comes to details. It doesn't even really spell out how exactly the elemental can see while using the ability.

Earth Glide (Ex): An earth elemental can glide through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth except metal as easily as a fish swims through water. Its burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or other signs of its presence. A move earth spell cast on an area containing a burrowing earth elemental flings the elemental back 30 feet, stunning the creature for 1 round unless it succeeds on a DC 15 Fortitude save.
