Diviha
Diviha nibbles her bottom lip for a moment as she considers her friends words, after a short time her sing-song voice speaks again "I think if we are to spend an evening watching then you three should stay back a ways, post a gaurd, but leave the close obsevation to me, I see better in the dark than even an elf, and trust me when I say I'm the most silent of the bunch.", her nervous smile indicates no insult meant, but just confidence in her abilities.
Fiani
The elven druidess listens to the teiflings words, a small smile of apreciationtouches her lips, "If we are indeed to leave you seperated from our protection darling one, then I will at least insist on you being within our line of sight, perhaps Taig could keep you company", she strokes her feirce badger she turns her soft eyes to Vissakiel seeking his support.
Fiani uses the defend order to get Taig to watch over Divi', she also hands her some "badger treats" ;)
Vissakiel
Vissakiel fixes his blue eyes on Diviha and Fiani in turn, as he considers their words. They sparkle as a warm smile spreads across his pale face. Then he turns to the fighter, Khismia, do you think your blades can wait a bit longer before they go to work? It appears we have the first stages of a plan."
Turning back to Diviha, he says, "And as our Mistress of Stealth, we'll need you to determine a good location for us to hide so that all of us are out of sight, while we can still keep an eye on you...just in case."
Khismia of the Ashborn
|
Khismia wakes the next morning to be greeted by the news that there was no activity on anyone else's watch either.
"I say we just head in. We can't afford to wait any longer and my blade thirsts for the taste of vengeance on these creatures for their cowardly attack on the Gnome."
Diviha
Diviha sits, cranky from the lack of activity the previous night. "Well I guess there's nothing for it, we're going in, let me guess, the "Mistress of Stealth" first huh?" She seems to brighten at a thought an whispers to Fiani "I kinda like the way he says Mistress,*giggle*"
Solnes
Fiani giggles at the girl. It is something to hear is it not? I'm sorry doll, it was a good plan. I suppose they must be entering or exiting somewhere else. We shall endevor to keep ourselves as quiet as possible.
A smile crosses her face as she winks at Vissakiel, knowing he heard the young girl.
Vissakiel
Vissakiel raises a single eyebrow in response to Fiani, as though he has no idea what she is talking about. However, a light seems to dance in the elf's large ice-blue eyes. When he turns to move down the narrow path toward the cave, there is also a spring in his step, despite his attempts to move quietly.
By the time they have passed into the tunnel, the elf's demeanor has become more serious. Pausing to examine the moss, he takes a handful of it and places the stuff in a pouch at his belt.
Turning toward the back of the cave, he silently scans the shadows for any sign of danger and keeps his sensitive ears alert for the slightest sound.
Stealth: 1d20(19)+2= 21
Perception: 1d20(19)+2= 21
(Wow. Two 19s in a row? I'm hope I'm not blowing all of my luck early in this campaign.)
Diviha
Diviha silently nods at Vissakiel, confirming she sees the trip wire, she hands her antique sword to him and in as quiet a voice as she can"Take the others back, I don't want you guys near me if I mess this up.". She waits untill her allies have withdrawn a safe distance, before scanning for additional dangers then making a quick prayer to Shelynn, and then attemts to disarm the trap.
Disable Device: 1d20(11)+7=18.
Perception:1d20(7)+3=10 (grr)
Let's hope that's good enough. :/
Diviha
The pretty young teifling relaxes visibly and lets out a held breath as she disarms the trap. Looking back over her shoulder she smiles at her friends.
"Well that went well."
She then looks around the cavern for anything interesting, and any exits or side tunnels
Perception: 1d20(13)+3=16
Vissakiel
Vissakiel smiles broadly at Diviha's success. Well done, Mistress. The word rolls off his tongue, followed by a low chuckle, which he shares with his other companions.
He then turns toward the tunnel and hunkers down, preparing to enter the deeper caverns which he suspects must be at the other end.

Other than the passage in the back of the cave, you see no other exits or chambers. You do notice a whistling sound coming from the back passage however.
Khismia of the Ashborn
|
Once the trap is disarmed, Khismia motions to the rest of the passage and whispers a little too loudly for the comfort of the others, "well done little one. Vissakiel, do you wish for me to go first. I would hate for any of you to be attacked beforeI get a chance to defend you."
She hefts the shield before her and preapres to head out upon Vissakiel's command.
Fiani
Fiani glances around, taking in the obsidian and moss. She looks closely at the moss, trying to figure out what kind it is. She giggles at Vis's calling the girl mistress.
"I think teh girl needs to go first, she is the quietest, and we could use a look out, and no offense "Kiss", but you are not the stealthy type."
She looks again at the shards of obsidian, do they seem out of place?

You realize that had you walked through the tar and lost your shoes, these shards would be slicing your feet to ribbons right now.
Diviha
Divi moves to the front of the group, trying to stay about 15 feet out from the rest, searching for any signs of activity as she does so.
"Well if I get killed or worse, then you guys get to explain to the folks back home why their Divi isn't dancing at the harvest festival next year... they will not be happy about that, let me tell you." she says with a grin.
Stealth: 1d20(19)+9=28.

Khismia of the Ashborn
|
Clever, he muses. Insanely vicious...but clever. I think it would be best for Diviha to go first, Khismia. You can watch her back and our fronts.
The corner of Khismia's mouth begins to curl as she replies to Vissakiel's comment. "I find that arangement acceptable."
DM Dave
The passage winds and bends for about 50 feet. Then it opens into a large cavern dominated by a massive 50 ft chasm. A strong breeze blows through the room sucked through holes in the ceiling. You are standing on a ledge that is about thirty feet wide, a similar ledge exists on the other side of the gap. And to everyones surprise, you almost run directly into a group of five equally surprised kobolds.
Roll Initative
Vissakiel
An angry hiss escapes Vissakiel's lips as he sees the kobolds in front of him. The elf quickly recovers. Thrusting his arm out to point a finger at the closest kobold, he unleashes a thin, bluish ray of freezing air and ice.
Initative: 1d20(20)+2= 22 (Woot!)
Ray of Frost ranged touch attack: 1d20(2)+4= 6 (Not so much.)
Ray of Frost damage: 1d3(3)= 3 (Not likely, but just in case.)
Diviha
Shocked that the Kobolds managed to see her Diviha brings her fathers greatsword up and moves to engage the closest of the things. "We need to kill them before they can warn any others"
Initiative: 1d20(16)+3=19 (not bad at all)
Attack Greatsword+0: 1d20=19(Yesssss!)
Crit confermation: 1d20=15 (good morning dice!)
Damage: 2d6(9)x2=18. :D
Just in case Divi got him Flatfooted, Sneak attack: 1d6=2 (total damage 20)
Khismia of the Ashborn
|
OK I'm back and up to date... sorry guys for holding you up
Initiative 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Khismia eyes the little creatures and a smile creeps onto her lips. She strides forward to engage the nearest one, swinging her Sabre around in a vicious arc.
Attack with Sawtooth Sabre 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Vissakiel
Vissakiel pauses, but only long enough to convince the kobolds that he is seriously considering Khismia's suggestion. He glares at the larger of the two kobolds and snaps at them in Draconic, letting is voice drop low, like a rumbling landslide: "Where are the belongings your tribe took from the gnome traveler yesterday? You will tell us what we wish to know, or you will die."
Intimidate: 1d20(15)+7= 22
Diviha
The tiefling beauty seems to consider the creature before them for several moments before sliding up beside Visakiel. "As much as I hate to say it, we can't leave them here, they would warn the others the first chance they got... she whispers in his ear. She looks almost at tears at this implacation however.
Diviha
As the Elf ask his question of the kobold, Divi steps slowly towards it, a gentle smile playing across her lips as she kneels and speaks in her sweetest voice. "We just need to get the stuff back, we don't really want to hurt anyone else. Could you please sweety, tell us about what we might find? I swear by my true father, we will not harm you." As she speaks she tries to put as much warmth as she can into her lightless eyes.
Bluff: 1d20(17)+7=24(25 if he likes 'smooth skins')

The elf nods slowly at Diviha's words, indicating he understands the choice before them. He then turns to the talkative one.
"Who is your boss," he demands again in Draconic.
"The bosssss isnamed SSkorgatch. He big ssssmelly bugbear," one of the kobolds says. "Please don't killsss usss."

"Scary thingssss," the otherkobold tells you. "Kobold no likethis place, but bosssss saysss thisss plce good to hide in. No smooth skins come here to look or us, until you. Only other smooth skinsss here work for the bosssss."
DM Dave
Not understanding any of the exchange that is occurring, Khismia simply stand waiting for Vissakiel's say so, her weapons at the Kobold's throats.
Vissakiel is questioning in draconic, but the kobolds are responding in common. They seem to be more comfortable with that.
