Better not after I dropped a couple larges this week to the hospital. :P I should show her the Paizo gift certificate options.

The problem is, even with getting my flu shot, I always seem to catch a bug this time of the year.
He's got that feat that allows him to swap out the save.

Anyone here real knowledgable on Chinese mythology? I can't seem to remember the name of the many eyed floating ball that I seem to recall being from that mythos. :/
Fairly so. My minor was Chinese language and literature during which I did study Chinese mythology.
And I've lived in China for 8 years.
Funny, I've never seen a many eyed floating ball. I have seen a peacock with creepy eyes on its tail, though, I think in a painting at the Shanghai National Museum.

The OG thread went 437 pages. Around 400, it started to get really bad with missing posts, though. Gary pulled the plug on the poor thing, especially since it may have had an impact on the rest of the board.

I think there was an eyeball orb thing in the movie "Big Trouble in Little China," but I never held any stock in that movie's authenticity.

Just doesn't sound something the Chinese would come up with. Now if it were yellow.... :P

I remember that as well. I read about it somewhere years ago, but like I said although I recall it being from Chinese myth, my memory ain't that hot so it coulda been from some other culture. But damn I love that movie! :)

Unlike many other Dungeons & Dragons monsters, the beholder is an original creation for D&D, as it isn't based on a creature from mythology or other fiction. Rob Kuntz's brother Terry thought up the beholder, and Gary Gygax detailed it for publication.[2]
I have no idea if there is any truth to this.

Yah. Lo Pan's spy.
And there's a lot of material in Chinese mythology and there's no way I could possibly know everything. I'm just never seen such a thing so I guess it's probably not in core mythology, meaning it's not any of the main gods or part of the most well known legends.

I was hoping you'd stop by and weigh in on it. Thanks anyway. It's not real important, but it's one of those things that springs in to the edge of your mind and you can't seem to nail down.
