She's having her surgery tomorrow, which I had to help subsidy the cost for it as the current economic environment caused her to be transistioned out of a job last year. She's been lucky to pick up scraps of freelance graphic design work here and there and tries to take courses to brush up her web skills.
I have an American Bulldog who's just over a year old. Not ferocious at all (even though the breed mistakingly gets confused with a pit bull) -- he's like a "can I pet the rabbit George" kind of friendly dope from The Grapes of Wrath. But he's been limping the past several days and we noticed some swelling around the knee. Had a chance to take him to the vet today and it looks to be a congential slippage issue where it continues to go out of socket and to cover the costs of surgery, it'll be an additional 3 G's. My heart sunk.
We can't have kids and we consider our pets to be our kids, so we're eventually going to do what any parent would do. What sucks is that we can't insure our kids the same way because they're pets. :( Too late to pick up pet insurance now as it would be a pre-existing condition and I'm sure some of us has already experienced those types of horrors with the insurance companies at one time or another.
In the meantime, I'm trying to keep my chin up as my other dog is going through senility in her waning years (she'll be 20 by year's end). She suffers from Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome, which is basically another way of calling it Doggie Alzheimers. I've been told numerable times that she needs to be put down, but as long as she continue to eat and function to the best of her abilities, I'll continue to bathe her and clean up after her. When she can no longer move around or not eat, then that's when I'll re-think what's in her best interests.
Sorry if I'm dumping here as I'm not the type of person to discuss what I'm feeling in RL. It's semi-anonymous in this medium as most people don't know me from Frank, John, or Steve and that's a comfort zone, I suppose.
Just like any other day, I just got to keep turning the page and deal with the next chapter.

It was very good, especially compared to the last one. I would have liked to have seen a few more scenes from the book, but then, I say that after every one of the HP movies.The director of the final movies has said that the one thing that has been missing from the HP movies to "make them great" are sex scenes, and as such has added 2 nude scenes in the next movie, specifically written for the movie. which means they will be rated R and I wont be able to show them to my kids.

The day went pretty fast at work. I bought a Hamilton Beach 4 quart slow-cooker (it always seems weird saying 'slow-cooker' considering that I gre up saying 'crock-pot'...) at Wal-Marty on the way home. I think that chili will be in order sometime soon. MMMmmmMMM!
Other than that it has been another ho-hum boring day.
I haven't read the multitude of posts. So...those who have had poor days, I feel for you and hope things improve. For others, I hope the good days continue.

I got one of them recently. I was disappointing - I think this picture is of a prototype, and the actual minis aren't colored as well.
Dinner was wonderful. A1 burgers for the family and stuffed Sole for me. Loaded baked potato's and bread and butter pickles. Chocolate cake for desert. :)
Kids in bed and quiet. Now onto that Art assignment I have been putting off.

All fine here.
Earlier I stated that I purchased a 4 quart slow-cooker but it is actually a six quart slow-cooker.
That about sums up my day after work. Oh, I cooked a pound of hamburger (saving some for tomorrow) and some "steamables" mixed veggies (saving some for tomorrow also) for dinner and did the dishes.

I am feeling a bit better. No longer violently reacting to food and drink, but still feeling a bit fragile, if that makes sense.
Hubby is napping while I do some school work that was due over the weekend but I put off.Kids went to bed like champs, I can hear my oldest puttering around his room, and as long as he is quiet I will let him play for about 20 more minutes.
We have a big meeting in the morning. Should decide when and where Kellen is going back to school. I am so ready for this. :)

I'm in Norfolk, after a too long absence. I'd forgotten how much I love working down here. Bummer part is, the ship I'm working on wants us to come back tomorrow afternoon and work later into the night, which is going ot screw up my sleep habit. Oh well, that's part of the job.
Still, everything is going well on my job so far. We only had one big screw up, and it got fixed pretty easily. Huzzah!
As long as things continue to go well, I'll be out of here Wednesday afternoon.
