MTVs "Remote Control" host passed away.

One of the few non-music video shows I actually liked on MTV. :(

Wow, Ken Ober. Sad.

That show was the first time I ever saw Adam Sandler or Kari Wuhrer.

I love telling my son that.
I love hearing my 7 and 4 year old sing that song!!!

They did a great job of airbrushing my beergut.

Okay, I have a monster that is right up this groups alley that I would like you to take a look at.

OK, Taig, I won't tell. Perhaps it was also being categorized as one who "has tried" PFRPG instead of "one who is fanatically committed" or some such.

David...are you ignoring my pdf request? Because I might take that as a challenge to get your attention. :P

Am I the only one who just now got the email about the APG playtest? Is it just me, or are these emails going out later than usual?

I got mine. It could be that Josh was responsible for getting the e-mail out, and he was indisposed for a while.

I still haven't gotten mine, and as is evidenced by my conversion work, I am a Pathfinder fanatic.

Should we join in demanding fanatic status? You also find this tepid description offending your highly refined sensibilities?

~gives a thoughtful sigh~ I am not sure if I should even post this, but I am. As of Sunday I aquired an unexpected room mate.

This weekend was going rather well. Friday was a great day, Saturday went well, despite getting very little sleep, and Sunday was going good too until I got a call from my Step-son asking if he could move in. Since he had no where else to go and one of my best friend's vouched for him, I said "Yes". Now, you may be asking yourself "Why is this a problem?". Honestly, it is a problem for several reasons.

1. He is an ex-drug addict and he drinks too much.

2. This is one of the two people that has not give me a call to wish me Merry Christmas, Happy Father's Day, Happy Birthday, or anything else. If I had not been bumping into him at my friend's house (Where he was staying, btw.), I would have had no contact.

3. If I have contact with him, then I will eventually have contact with his Mother and his Sister.

4. He has done nothing to earn MY trust. But he has earned one of my best friend's trust, so I am giving him the benifit of the doubt.

Now, I think (or hope) that this turns out to be a good thing. This gives The two of us a chance to get to get reaquanted with each other. Plus, he can now see what I am up against and maybe he can learn to respect me. I am charging him rent because he has not earned a free ride. Of course, his Mother called me to thank me. That too might be a good thing, since I got to tell her some good things that might help set her mind at ease. Unfortunatly, I do not trust her, since she did a few bad things to me during the divorce. I attribute it to the stress of the divorce, but I now will never trust her like I used to. ~sighs and shrugs~ Oh well.

~grins~ And to add insult to injury, one of the book cases that I bought fell apart as I was setting it up. For $130 + tax, it was a cheap piece of furniture.

Thanks for listening!

Sharoth, my 3 cpprs, if you're interested:
It sounds to me like you are approaching the difficulty with a positive attitude, but also a realistic appreciation of where things can go wrong--both of which sound right to me.

~grins~ Well, I told him this...

No Drugs, No drinking, and no stealing of my stuff. If you do that, I will toss you out quicker than you can say "Greased Lightning!!!". I consiter him to be my son, but trust is earned, no given. Besides, I have worked way too hard to get where I am to let some kid ruin it.

P.S. - thanks for the vote of confidence. Your bribe will be put in the mail tomorrow. ~GRINS~

Hey...I gave you an extra copper. Getting tired. You're more than welcome.

I agree with Mairkurion, and I hope you can help guide him down a better path by being a direct part of his life.

I wish you luck and patience with your situation.

You never know with these stepson things. I seem to be doing pretty well with mine, and it was a total crapshoot.

HOLD FAST.

I'm having a terrible time getting through to Bryce's doctor to make an appointment. I'll try again in an hour. :/

Thanks. How is your week going? You should call me some time this week. Maybe Wed afternoon?

Cleaning went fine...feels nice to have a good bit of it done. Did you get through to the Docs?

Weds afternoon is the dreaded family therapy appointment. Wed morning?

And no, I wasn't able to get through to the doctor's office. Too many parents freaking out over flu season I guess. I'll try again in the morning.

As for how my week is going, it's a mixed bag. I'm happy to be away from the situation even if it is just for a short time, but I miss my boy. At least I got to see him some today, but dropping him off at the house after was hard. I went and cried on a friend's shoulder for awhile.

Good luck with things lynora. You, your son, and your hubby are in my prayers. May things work out for the best be it together or seperate.

Thanks, Ambrosia and Sharoth. I appreciate it. And good luck with the situation with your stepson, Sharoth.

Looks like I missed most of you guys. Oh well. There's always tomorrow. Good night.

Decisions, decisions. I feel like I will bring forth many a wrath especially Moorluck's. Debating on whether to go to midnight release of New Moon. Before you questions my motives, would be going with a group, that the ratio is at least 3:1 female to male ratio.

3:1 ratio? That is worth torturing yourself for! I say Go For It!!!

I feel yer pain Sharoth. We acquired an unexpected 'foster' child when my daughter's friend suddenly became homeless. We took her in to try and get her functional in society (19 with no HS diploma and a list of problems a mile wide). Since last December me and my wife have been trying to help her straighten her life out, but gee golly it is a total mess.

She's a wonderful girl, and you can see the potential, but it is buried under all this cultured victimhood and drug abuse. Considering where she came from it's no surprise, but still, trying to help her become a functioning member of society feels like pushing a sysiphean-sized rock up a big ass hill.

With the expected change in work I am facing (going back into food service, *sigh*) I am worried that the stress of dealing with her multiple dramas might overstrain the system. After her last faux pas (which I don't feel comfortable sharing publicly), she is spending a bit of time away from us getting some therapy. She is slated back today, and me and my wife have a difficlut discussion about responsibility and consequences ahead.

I hope she can hold it together, but I have walked this road with many folks before, and if they will not help themselves, then it usually ends badly ...

Sorry for the rantage :/

Never in all my years of studying geographic statistics have I ever run across a statistic for proportional immigration by land mass. It's something geographers don't look at because it is a phony statistic made up by people who have small imigration rates to convince themselves that they are still better than the countries that they always rip on.

I am terrified of snakes and spiders, the pics are real enough to give me nightmares.

Mrs M is also terrified of snakes. Even big stuffed purple snakes that you might want to keep around the house or shower curtains of the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden.

Why would anyone want to keep even a stuffed snake?! Kellen has a rubber snake that he calls weasel. This thing looks so real that it has terrified many a people. Ugh....I am ready for weasel to ......wander off.

Ah, man. Cuz they're uber cool. I'll have to get my stepson to post it on FB now.
