I'm 38 yo male that works as a chiropractor and real estate investor. Got into gaming in 4th grade (AD&D). Kind of a middle of the path kid in school ... knew some popular kids, some tough kids, some geeky kids.
Done some cool stuff like backpacking around Europe and visiting Russia. Taught many people how to play D&D over the years and how to make the game "realistic" (no trolls randomly chilling in the tavern basement).
Early on Monty Hall campaigns were the thing, later balanced campaigns and now I've learned I no longer enjoy gaming unless its with players that like serious role-playing.
Currently I don't have the time to run a campaign but left off running Savage Tide which I feel is a really good thread.
Favorite module ever: Tomb of Horrors .. I like challenges and that one kept us biting our nails and on the edge of our seats.
In 5th grade, Elric of the Golden Blade was my character. We had books of our magic items and he had a "Golden Vorpal blade", "neckband of proof vs Vorpal Weapons", and "Magnetic Rod". lol If you remember any of these Monty Hall weapons your are old-school hard core.

Also 38 yo male. I do facility management/maintenance in the oil industry. I'm the type of person who rides a Harley in nearly any weather (no rain, I don't trust people on wet roads) Started gaming with D&D in 7th grade. Been doing it ever since.
Navy four years, Machinists Mate working in the engine room of the nuke carrier (CVN 69) Dwight D. Eisenhower. So, I've been to lots of cool places in the Mediterranean and Persian gulfs. Israel being by far the most awesome, followed by Greece and Spain.
I think everyone did Monty Hall when young. I prefer a good balance of roll and role playing now, and don't subscribe to the theory that the two are mutually exclusive. I do enjoy good investigative Cthulhu type games as well, which are a very different beast.
Last game I ran was my groups test of 4e. I'm getting ready to run either Castle Whiterock or CoT when I get the new PFRPG core book.
Favorite module? G3. The introduction of the Drow. When no one knew what they were it was all, "OMG, a black elf?? What's up with that"?
Most unbalanced character? Definitely something I did as a teenager, but I really don't remember specifics right now.

Occupation? Software Engineer - space industry
Type of Person? Typical science/engineering geek
Interesting Points? I flew a hawk once (not the plane)
Gaming Style? I DM - flavour over hack and slash
Favorite Module ever? Reverse Dungeon
Most unbalanced character you ran? None really. I pick stuff for flavour rather than power so my characters turn out weak but fun

31 years old
Motorcycle insurance claims department factotum (making payments, making checks, etc.)
I'm a vegan, bookworm, mini painter, big blood donor, classical music buff. I have a BS in Evolutionary Anthropology and am working toward an advanced degree in Classics. Just recently broke into the RPG industry as a freelancer with some contributions to an upcoming Goodman release.
I like a balance of role-playing, problem-solving, and good action.
Favorite module, possibly 'Spinecastle' from Dungeon 148.
Never been a fan of playing supermen.

Odd ^_^
Interesting Points?
That I really, REALLY like gaming. Lots of other things to but gaming seems to take up a majority of my thought process. Once I get started I can continue on forever. From coming up traps and hazards, to priest who morph mid combat into Avatars of Tiamat.
Gaming Style?
Depends on the players. I grew up on hack-n-slash, but thanks to some of the people around here I'm trying to flex my creative muscle.
Favorite Module ever?
All the games I've ever played in growing up. The one I'm most interested to run is PF# 1-6
Most unbalanced character you ran?
I wouldn't call it unbalanced, but every DM I've ran by hated it. He was a Paladin/Shadowdancer. The DMs thought it was horrible and banned me in multiple games from using it.

Age? 35
Occupation? Lawyer
Type of Person? Who will resign from a high paying job to start his own firm.
Interesting Points? Played RPG since 1986 by starting with Marvel RPG, then branching out to D&D (Red Box), Top Secret SI, Gamma World, AD&D. Went out of the gaming scene until 3.0 came out have been playing ever since....
Gaming Style? Power Gamer
Favorite Module ever? Maure Castle (I ran this for some friends and honestly, they killed themselves. One instance deserves mentioning: I recall suggesting to the thief that the tapestry appears to be very expensive and he being greedy neglected to check for traps and the symbol of death killed him easy.)
Most unbalanced character you ran? Orion the Cleric Archer who killed Utereshimon the Blue Dragon (Return to the Temple of Elemental Evit) with one shot!

Age? 43
Occupation? Currently a full-time student getting an AAS in Business (Accounting Technology). I was a QC/Proofreader in the Marketing/Advertising for years, but after we moved, getting a job in that field was impossible. Spelling seems to not be important in the ad agency biz anymore; this of course has everything to do with the current economy.
Type of Person? I'm a raging liberal, and live for progressive/heavy metal music and horror literature/movies. Love gore flicks and 'torture porn' flicks as much as J-horror and traditional horror. I play DDO the MMO religiously. I've been playing guitar and D&D since I was 12 (31 years ago!). I've been DMing for 80% of that time. I am a 3.5 grognard. Currently have 3 campaigns (2 VTT, one face to face).
Interesting Points? see above. I'm also a (unpublished) writer. I've written several short stories and one novel; all horror of course. In my novel, most of the protagonists are D&D players!
Gaming Style? I am a power gamer when I play as well as a rules lawyer. Of course, I haven't played in almost 4 years! As a DM, plot and story are my favorite elements. It's why I love Paizo adventures so much; great storylines! I am currently running Paizo Adventure Paths in all three of my campaigns (AOW, ST and ROTRL). Of course, if I am involved in a game where the dice never get rolled, I am bored stiff; I love rolling dice.
Favorite Module ever? H4, The Throne of Bloodstone (followed closely by H2 and H3).
Most unbalanced character you ran? It was in 1st edition using the Unearthed Arcana character creation rules. The character's name was Scrotus and he was a ranger. His stats were 4 18's, a 17, and a 16. And I rolled them up for real in front of the DM.

Ah, but the awesomeness is, Shadow Dancer is a PrC, not a base class. Therefore it doesn't count as multiclassing.
I actually find this an interesting concept. I may have to fiddle with it a bit.

Age 26
Occupation: I'm a Project Developer for Nielsen Bases. What that means is I help plan and run questionnaires for new products. Anything I say beyond that will get me fired.
Type of Person: I'm a middle of the fence kinda guy. Maybe it's growing up in Quebec and Ontario equally, but I don't prescribe to one "type". I listen to a bunch of music (no country), I've finished school for Marketing, did lots of Drama in High School, but I'm more introverted than others. Oh, and I can drink a lot of alcohol.
Interesting Points: I've been a waiter on a 100 year old steam ship, I've helped my father build a 3 car garage (made the cement, carried blocks, etc.), I've written multiple plays and short stories (mostly comedy), and I prefer vodka on the rocks.
Gaming Style: I have to say that I'm more Gamist than simulationist. I don't mind the odd 10 - 15 minute bout of RP, but if I spend 20 minutes listen to someone speak in character and argue, I get bored fast. Give me something to fight and I'm great. Balance the group, make a good background, and get into the game. Nothing bothers me more than someone playing an adventurer who doesn't want to adventure.
Favourtie Module Ever: See, I'm somewhat new at this game (started in 3.0), so I'm going to say The Fifth Adventure in Age of Worms (I'm at work, can't think of the name). I won't ruin it for anyone, but all I'll say is: I've DMed it twice, and by my standards, it's perfect.
Most Unbalanced Character I've ran: My first character Hectot, Barbarian Half-Orc, 1 level. I used Whirlwind all the time, made up explosives from kegs, threw rocks at the rogue (he was in front of the door), and my favourite weapon was a iron door. He's still awesome in my mind.

That would be my guess as well....
Age?
Also, 38.
Occupation?
Architectural Draftsman, working on license, military slowed up my progress on that route. Amateur game designer, hopefully professional once I get my PDF out.
Type of Person?
ADD type, hard for me to finish what I start sometimes. But I'm hundreds of times better now than when I was younger, I had to learn effective strategies to deal with it.
Interesting Points?
Started playing AD&D in 6th grade. Father of 9yo twin boys, who enjoy D&D as well...of course...on my second wife...always thinking, tweaking and trying out new rules.
Gaming Style?
Mostly I'm the GM, although I love to play though and create interesting characters. PbP seems to be my main style now...heh.
Favorite Module ever?
Oh that's a toss-up between G1-3 and U1. I think for pure great adventure, U1 is my favorite, I have converted it a couple times with edition changes.

Age? 27
Occupation? Currently an Arabic Linguist in the USAF.
Type of Person? The kind of person that thought that learning languages for a living sounded fun. A crazy left wing atheist commie hippie who who still loves serving in the military.
Interesting Points? Not sure of this one really.
Gaming Style? I like steampunk and high fantasy. I prefer games where characters drive the story, but where players are willing to make a few concessions to make things work.
Favorite Module ever? I've idealized City of the Spider Queen far beyond its worth. In practice my all time favorite was SCAP. It was also my longest run game - 2 years and we were only half-way through. I had to cut it off there for my current deployment - boo!
Most unbalanced character you ran? That's a tie between an Incubus with a Cha in the low 40s and a troll with level in hulking hurler and war hulk, with carefully chosen maneuvers from the book of nine swords. In my defense, the troll was made for a game with the premise of "hey guys, want to put together a bunch of ridiculous epic-level characters?"

I'm 32. I'm a stay-at-home mom. Since I'm not wealthy enough to be considered eccentric I'm usually described as 'interesting'. :) I'm artistic, creative, laid-back, with a frighteningly good memory and a talent for linguistics. One of these days I'm going to figure out how to put one or more of those qualities to use. Sigh. It's hard to find a job without a college degree.
As far as gaming style goes, I'm not really sure what label to put on it. For me it's all about the story. I like a lot of different aspects of the game and don't even mind a basic dungeon crawl as long as the interactions between the characters are interesting. A good game should leave me going 'what happens next?'I don't have a favorite module.
I don't think I've ever run a truly unbalanced character. Closest I've ever come was in my first 3.5 campaign, a human fighter. Everything about her was straight from the PHB since the only books out at that point were core. Basically every combat boiled down to the rest of the party standing around while Dorian sliced and diced.

- Age: I'll be physically 27 in December. Maturity is another matter. :)
- Occupation: Unemployed. Formerly rural mail carrier, website developer/QA for drivers/updates, stair & railings builder.
- Type of Person: Quiet, shy, introverted, need to lose some weight, never married, female, computer nerd, scifi nerd, greenish-thumb gardner, middling cook, doodler, and Dr. Baltar says I'm human.
- Interesting Points: Nope, not pointy (unless it's really cold, then only two ;p). Mostly (too) flat with some curvy bits.
- Gaming Style: I usually lay back to suss out the rest of the group, then work to fill in the weak spots/roles. Much more roleplayer than hack and slash. Not a big Everquest/Warcraft/etc. player, but loved the old Baldur's Gate series.
- Favorite Module ever: Halaster's Undermountain. Much horror, even more death.
- Most unbalanced character you ran: I get more often stuck GMing, so a Shadowrun Hacker/mid-level Rigger/mid-level Face build that could still survive an onsite run. Burned lot of build points making her, but it ws easier than 2-3 separate NPCs that kept getting killed in firefights anyway. She was Min-Maxed to the hilt, which bugged me constantly. But the other three players only wanted to play uber gunbunnies, mages, or street sam.

Occupation: Contracted Psychopharmacologist at a local Health Science center.
Type of Person: Outgoing, socially active, politically active, laughs easy, and hopefully friendly

Favorite Module: Hmmmmmm......... so hard to pick.... Hook Mountain massacre.
Most unbalanced character: Sorry I'm a GM I don't play.

Oh sure, play dumb! As if you don't already know, you god damned government agent spy! Oh I'm so onto you.
Interesting Points?
Well there's the bed of spikes in my basement. However, someone is already impaled on it. What? They tripped.
Gaming Style?
I beat the other players with baseball bats, steal all of their dice, and move onto the next group. By the way, what are you doing this Friday?
Favorite Module ever?
I can't tell you. The penguins have sworn me to secrecy.
Most unbalanced character you ran?

Age? 40
Occupation? Sausage Stuffer/Hanger for Oh Boy! Oberto (impressive no?)
Type of Person? Laid back fat guy who enjoys RPGs especially D&D
Interesting Points? Play guitar (a little bit), like easy crossword puzzles, superhero movies, World of Warcraft
Gaming Style? hmm, I like to see my character grow and gain power but I don't think I'm a powergamer. I like to let the story help dictate the skills I buy, feats I take, etc. But I'm slightly more interested in mechanics than story but pretty balanced really.
As a DM I tend to give my players too much power. Generous ability score generation and bunches of extra treasure. And then they whine that encounters are too easy.
Favorite Module ever? I liked reading Rise of the Runelords: Burnt Offerings but haven't had a chance to run it yet. I'm hoping to put a group together after I have time to read and digest Pathfinder RPG.
I once ran a group about halfway through Age of Worms but due to conflicts with work schedules and such that group broke up.
Most unbalanced character you ran? I once played a monk who I felt was underpowered. I took the dodge/mobility/spring attack feat chain and spent most fights running up, missing (or hitting and not doing damage that passed DR), and then running back. I felt worthless in combat but I was a great scout. I was the mage-killer but we almost always faced really big tough guys and rarely mages. I think the PRPG has done much to bump the monks power without making them too powerful, time will tell.

Age: 40 (though I never really act my age)
Occupation: Self-employed code monkey/web developer .. looking for a regular gig for 30+ hrs/wk and continue with freelance on the side (keep the fingers crossed for me folks)
Type Of Person: Depends on the situation. Typically somewhat reserved, though if I am comfortable with the folks I am with, much more open and loose. Gamer, animation junkie, geek, aspiring artist/writer, lover of good food and can cook a good amount of it, coffee/beer snob, bearer of an invisible neon sign that only dogs can see that says "sucker" over my head.
Interesting Points: Oh I don't know. Different folks would find different things interesting, so how am I to know what you would find interesting. ;)
Gaming Style: Not a power gamer. I do not shoot for the optimal build; I would much rather come up with a character concept and then built that ... like a Cleric who can only cast 0 level spells (WI 10) ... yes, I did that and had a blast playing the character. I guess it's more about RP than building the "perfect" character.
Favorite Module Ever: This is a hard one. The original G series was great, as was ToH (I still have yet to survive that one). Then there was the A series (Slave Pits of the Undercity), and the Village of Hommlet as the classic starting point. So many choices ... I can't pick just one.
Most Unbalanced Character You Ran: This would have to be Davin Greytoes, a halfing fighter/thief. I got some incredible rolls during creation (which resulted in an overpowered character right out of the gate), but add to that the focus on tumbling/acrobatic skills and the killer blades he came upon by the time he was 5th level and he was a little killing machine. The party fighter would actually throw the halfing into combat (or up to the roof or second floor window for "alternate" income sources). It was an over the top campaign anyway, so it all worked out.

Age? 25, but I mostly game with a crowd of 40+
Occupation? I'm a clerk at a baby boutique (and I am a dude). This one seems to through people for a loop.
Type of Person? I'd like to think that I'm a nice guy. I like to have good arguments though. My Myers-Brigg tells me i'm an INTP.
Interesting Points? I live with my girlfriend of the last five years, who is a number of years older than I am. I became interested in Paizo when she began to run Shackled City, have been posting here ever since.
Gaming Style? I prefer my games to be fun. I have a "you can do what you want if you give me a good story" policy of gameplay.
Favorite Module ever? I really liked Red Hand of Doom, though I am starting to think that I like Edge of Anarchy (CotCT) a lot as well.
Most unbalanced character you ran? Kenku Mystic Theurge with only reserve feats and sudden meta-magics. He was a feathered, crabby, killing machine.

Age: 37
Occupation: Mechanical Engineer working for the U.S. Navy.
Type of Person: I like to think I'm a happy person, who tries his best to bring laughter to others. I do worry about politics, the future, etc. Still, I'm pretty good at letting problems roll off me like water off a duck's back. I'm definitely not the sensitive type, and can be pretty stoic. I despise corrupt politicians, mostly because I grew up in Louisiana, where they've ruined the whole damn state. I love my country and think it is the greatest place to live.
Interesting Points: I brew my own beer and mead.
Gaming Style: I love to have fun, and hate to lose.
Favorite Module ever: The Ruins of Myth Drannor boxed set.
Most unbalanced character you ran: A 2E yuan-ti fighter/mage, who fought with Gauntlets of Ogre Power, a Girdle of Giant Strength, and a Hammer of Thunderbolts (x2).
| Lathiira |
Age? Now 34.
Occupation? Graduate student, seeking a M.S. in Plant Science.
Type of Person? We come in types? Says who?
Interesting Points? All of them.
Gaming Style? I prefer story and character development. Sure, I like me some magical items and to be powerful, but I'm much more interested in trying new ideas and developing a character over the long-term.
Favorite Module ever? Temple of Elemental Evil. I've run it a time or two, but my favorite character of all time is based off of Clyde Caldwell's image of the alu-fiend Darley.
Most unbalanced character you ran? I don't get to run unbalanced characters. Instead I've fallen prey to being the fall guy for other people's unbalanced characters. While my characters have from time to time been a bit on the powerful side, I always suffer for it later.

Age: 19. I'm a real youngun on the boards here.
Occupation: Currently just a student, but I'm also a working actor. I'm looking for some part-time work, and I'm not sure what I'll do exactly after I graduate. I might go to grad school, might try to make it as an actor, might look into another line of work like anthropology or biology. Probably go to grad school for theatre.
Type of person: Somewhat stereotypical liberal college student.
Interesting points: I'm not really a full-time member of geekdom. While I have really geeky/nerdy interests, I hang out with the "cool" kids as much as I do with my science and math friends. I like to balance my indulgence in RPGs and gaming with my indulgence in more mainstream stuff. It makes it all so much more fun! :D
Gaming style: I'm all about balance. I like the whole package, the combat, the role-playing, all of the above. I love crunch, especially how it relates to the fluff. I'm very creative, so I have as much fun (if not more) preparing for a game than I do playing it.
Favorite module: Almost all of the gaming I've done has been homebrew modules and campaigns. I don't actually think I've played a published adventure, actually. When I started out, we didn't even know those existed, and when we found them, they didn't interest us a whole lot.
Most unbalanced character: I don't like being unbalanced, but the Warblade I'm running in my friend's campaign is pretty brutal.

Age? 45 :)
Occupation? After school program aide (or whatever they've changed my title to this year) in the Educational Secondary Services Program in Poway Unified School District. I get to help kids with homework, play with them, introduce them to new fun stuff, and have taught a few D&D (before a supervisor felt is was "too violent" ::rolls eyes:: and this past year, taught TOON to my group :)
Type of Person? In work and gaming, very detail oriented and meticulous. Otherwise? Depends on the mood ::laughing::
Interesting Points? Started with D&D back in 1978-79 with these funky little pink books one of the guys brought to the weekly board game gathering. We played Risk, Diplomacy, Blitzkrieg, etc., but tried out this weird new game. Been playing RPGs ever since :) Have run and co-created adventures with my husband for Strategicon RPG tourneys during the 90s. Mostly AD&D, though some Champions. Also ran some "one shot" adventures there as well.
Gaming Style? Definitely ROLE playing, vs. ROLL. Willing to try just about any type of game (as the poor groaning shelves in our gaming library attest to), and have played more than I can count.
Favorite Module ever? Oh, my ... for the most part we ran homebrew for most of our gaming lives, but of the few modules I have run or played in -- Treasure Hunt for AD&D, Harlequin for Shadowrun, and all three of Paizo's first APs in which I play in two (Runelords and Second Darkness) and GM the third (Crimson Throne) :)
Most unbalanced character you ran? My poor first edition bard to be that became the beloved of a god, married him, and in the ceremony became a god herself. Kinda spoils game balance, though the GM was saying I could keep playing her ;p And I'd managed to finish all but one level of thief before actually starting those bardic levels! Closest I ever came to getting a bard in 1st edition.

Age: 37 This December
Occupation: Full Time Father and Copier Tech
Type of Person: I have been called a Jerk, a nice guy, an @$$#0L3 by a few, Weird and Strange by others, I have been told I was going to Hell for playing the Devil's Game(D&D,as recent as last year). But I am going to say I am ME.
Interesting Points: The Being at the Birth of my 3 kids, Went to Scotland and ate Haggis & Black pudding Daily,
Gaming Style: I like a good plot that allows me to kill stuff
Favorite Module ever: Don't know, I am going to put the Crimson Throne there for now.
Most unbalanced character you ran: I have not really played any unbalanced in a good way characters. I did play a Halfling Rogue with an 6 Str, 13 Dex, 10 Con, 9 Int, 6 Wis and 12 Chr. He was pretty bad that is why I hate rolling for stats, another player had a human ranger 14 Str, 18 Dex, 14 Con, 14 Int, 16 Wis and 5 Chr.

Point taken. A character who is a deity probably does qualify as unbalanced. :) Although in the Free-Form game it can be hard to tell.

Age? 42, so I am the answer to the Question.
Occupation? Sales. Of fence. Nuff said.
Type of Person? I am a proud nerd, uncompromising in my geekiness. I am a kind person, but I am a fervent believer in personal responsibility and involving yourself in your own life, not expecting others to take care of your problems, whether family or government. I garden avidly, and I am an conservationist and organic farmer. Politically I am Libertarian in leaning, though I am currently not a big fan of the American Libertarian party. I collect books, and have a large library of close to 2,000 books. I have two daughters, one of whom is multi-handicapped.
Interesting Points? Although I am a raving geek, I look like a football linebacker gone to seed. Or a dwarf scaled to 5'10" height, your choice. I also know a lot about decidedly obscure and minor things.
Gaming Style? The story's the thing for me. I never paid slavish attention to the rules, and even in the dim days of 1st Edition me and my cohorts played very story-centric style games.
Favorite Module ever? Q1 Queen of the Demonweb Pits. Just the maps alone could make you shiver ...
Most unbalanced character you ran? Hmm, never did builds and such, most of my characters are actually underoptimized. In free form RPG game I have an avatar of a deity, I would suppose she counts as unbalanced, but as Lynora said, it's hard to tell in free-form RPGing what exactly constitutes 'unbalanced'.

Occupation? I currently have my own Computer Repair Business, although that appears to be a rapidly sinking ship in this period of financial unrest. So very soon I will probably be something else entirely...
Type of Person? Laid Back, but prone to excited outbursts when something catches my attention.
Interesting Points? I'm slightly odd...
Gaming Style? Story driven, but with definate mechanics to back it up.
Favorite Module ever? B3 Palace of the Silver Princess or B7 Rahasia
Most unbalanced character you ran? I don't really do unbalanced characters. I do backstory driven characters with mixed mechanics meant to back that up...

FAVORITE MODULE: Dark Tower, Hall's of Tizen Thane and The Lair of Mordred the Mighty. If anyone has a conversion for the last one for 3.5 please let me know. Has my all time favorite magic item in it. A Slate Stirge, does exactly what it says on the tin!
MOST UNBALANCED CHARACTER: 1/2 ORC Fighter/Cleric/Assassin and his (t)rusty halberd!

I think I answered something like this on a different thread a year or two ago, but what the heck?
Age? 24
Occupation? Fledgling fantasy illustrator with a day job as a production artist for an independent publisher. I build mock-ups of books that are coming out to show to booksellers, foamcore boxes cleverly disguised as huge books for the booth at industry shows and various other things.
Type of Person? I'm a pretty quiet guy most of the time but I'm pretty funny once I've had time to warm up. I am a Taurus that enjoys box socials and long walks on the beach.
Interesting Points? I would be useless in conversation without my virtually perfect memory of Simpsons quotes. I lost my hair and grew a thick beard at the age of 16; I look several years older than I really am. I illustrated a Nicolas Logue adventure for Open Design, Blood of the Gorgon. It's nominated for an ENnie; I can't take any credit for it, but I'm glad I contributed.
Gaming Style? Not really sure. I usually GM pre-published materials and I gravitate more toward investigation/role-playing over hack and slash, though I find we get bored if there isn't at least a few fights in the game. I don't know.
Favorite Module ever? That's a tough one. I think The Whispering Cairn is the best 1st level adventure I've ever run; it's got everything. I also loved The Styes enough to start a campaign around it, set in the titular city.
Most unbalanced character you ran? I'm a GM most of the time. Otherwise, my characters tend to be more about concept than efficiency. I just don't have the head for rules that some of you folks do.

41 year old housedad, started gaming back in '81 with the Basic D&D. Quickly moved to AD&D, tried Gangbusters, Top Secret, Gamma World, Car Wars, Star Fleet Battles, Runequest, Traveller, and so on. I prefer story and role playing. My favorite module ever was Temple of Elemental Evil--ran a few groups through that one but never finished! I was always the DM, but the most unbalanced character was back in the 1st edition days, my gaming group wanted a super-hero flavor. One had telepathy, one was a fighter who could shoot lightning bolts; the NPC I made for the group was an X-Men Colossus clone (I think I made him a "diamond golem" or something). The main villain was a Lich with a magic artifact that could open a portal through time and he hurled a battalion of WWII Panzers at the party. Rules? Who needs rules! ;-) We were young then!

Age 25
Occupation Night Auditor at a small hotel. This basically means I'm part accountant, part night guard, and from 11pm-7am I essentially run an entire 64 room hotel without backup or assistance if anything comes up.
Type of Person I'm still trying to figure that one out. Physically, I'm white, male, and built like a tall hobbit. I have a BA in English, and I still live in a nice house across from the university even though I graduated two years ago. I'm part of a tight knit community of gamers I met through college, and I game 3-4 nights a week. I am more concerned with comfort than success. I am agnostic, but come from a Baptist family. My good points are that I am intelligent, generous, loyal to a fault, and a natural storyteller. However, I am also clinically depressed, neurotic, and have an obsessive personality. I was recently dumped by my girlfriend of six years, and am still trying to figure out what to do with my life.
Interesting Points I've written one published adventure, PFS #21, The Eternal Obelisk. I am currently trying to decide if this was pure luck or if I should continue pursuing a career in game design.
Gaming Style I enjoy a mix of combat and social encounters, and prefer when the two work together to advance the plot. I am less interested in investigation, and I detest puzzles. I am something of a method actor, getting into the head of my characters, and roleplaying them to the hilt, often including affecting an accent and different mannerisms. While not a powergamer, I enjoy kicking butt as much as the next guy, and try to keep my characters combat effective. I prefer characters with lots of options, mixing magic, melee combat, and skills, rather than narrowly focusing on one aspect. I generally play d20 games exclusively, and my favorite version of the rules is Monte Cook's Arcana Evolved, although I also play 3.5 and Pathfinder (beta at this point).
Favorite Module everI started gaming with 3rd Edition, and while I know my various DMs over the years have run modules converted from older editions, I don't know the exact titles. The most fun I've ever gotten out of a single module, however, has to be Nick Logue's Crown of the Kobold King, which I have played through as a PC and as a DM. That adventure is really what got me hooked on Paizo products.
Most unbalanced character you ran Generally, my characters are more or less balanced, but in terms of bending the rules, I would have to say that my current Pathfinder character probably takes the cake, since he blends rules from PF Beta with Arcana Evolved, Unearthed Arcana, and Eberron. Meriweather Fawkes is a Half-Elf Unfettered 1/Battle Sorcerer 5 (air elemental bloodline), with the Dragonmark of Storm, and next level he's going to become a Windwright Captain and take Leadership, giving him an airship, a crew, and a Dryad Artificer Cohort (her tree has been magically incorporated into the ship, making her somewhat like Rommie from the Sci-Fi series Andromeda.)
Also, with Pathfinder's skill system, he put one rank into Acrobatics at first level and had a +12 (+3 Dex, +3 class skill, +3 half-elf skill focus, +2 from his Dragonmark), so he has consistantly been able to tumble circles around most enemies. If anyone does happen to hit him and interrupt his tumble, he also has the Storm's Riposte feat, so he can spend an action point to make a counterattack, dealing +2d6 sonic damage if he hits. Last level he also picked up True Strike, so now he can cast that spell, move to tumble, and if he gets hit, he can expend the True strike bonus on the Storm's Riposte to make sure it hits. He's not exactly better in combat than the rest of the party, but he certainly is using the rules to make a rather absurd fighting style.

33, gonna be 34 too soon.
Pest Control Tech.
I'm kinda laid back, but sometimes prone to being aggresive... ok so sometimes prone is being generous.
I'm married, to the most incredable woman, have 3 beautiful kids, the oldest is 7 and a newbie gamer. I used to be a "semi-pro" kickboxer, and still miss the exitement of it. I learned that me and the Army didn't mix well, and at 33 I'm still not sure what I want to be when I grow up. ;)
I prefer a more story driven style, and hate the power grabbing style. My PCs and NPCs tend to be heavy on the backstory, and I spend way to much time thinking of interesting histories for them. And I tend to play female PCs.
My favorite module is a toss up between the old B module Rahasia and the SCAP.
The most unbalanced PCs I've ever ran were a Titan fighter in my first game, for 5th level PCs by the way, and Leena Rayne, a Rog/Rngr/Mnk/Divine Champion and Chosen of the Realms Goddess Sharess... she was alot of fun to play though. ;)

Currently unemployed, earning some money working nightshifts at a local gasstation.
Thoughtful, maybe a bit geeky, sometimes moody.
Yes, there are.
I'm more DM than player. I tend towards empathising story and roleplaying, but I use minis because I suck at narrative combat (or even keeping track of opponents and npc...).
HArd to say, there are several. Among them are Dragon Mountain, Temple of Elemental Evil, Mad God's Key, Vault of Larrin Karn, Flight of the Red Raven, The Skinsaw Murders, Red Hand of Doom and Night of the Walking Dead.
I don't recall...probably one of my old Rolemaster Characters. I remeber ALL of the characters in that Group to be able to waste scores of most opponents.

Occupation? I am a desk jockey for a company that provides employee benefits to small businesses.
Type of Person? People have described me as a "watcher". Apparently I always seem to be amused by the people around me, like I am getting a joke that they are all missing.
Interesting Points? I am a classically trained opera singer and pianist.
Gaming Style? I like a good mix - good story, roleplay, intrigue, puzzles, exploration, combat.
Favorite Module ever? Since I generally don't DM, I make it a point not to read modules, in case I find myself playing them one day. I hate playing through a module where I already know what happens. I can't think of a favorite that I've played - most of the time I don't know what's a module and what's a homebrew and what's a combination of the two.
Most unbalanced character you ran? Straight-up 3.5 druid, right out of the PHB. By 7th level, he was completely outshining the rest of the party. I normally try to avoid that sort of thing, but I guess that's just the way druids are...

Age? 40 (that will change in 4 weeks and a day). I've been married for 19 years to a wonderful and understanding non-gamer, and I have two children, a 15-year old son and a 12-year old daughter, who like to play games with their dad.
Occupation? Software developer for a Point of Sale system used at gas stations/convenience stores. Eldritch Mr. Shiny may have been abused by some of my software. :)
Type of Person? Generally laid back and a bit goofy. Thanks to depression I've been fighting since childhood, I get into bad moods. My job is doing a lot to put me in a bad mood lately.
Interesting Points? I guess freakish double-jointed elbows is interesting...
Gaming Style? I run a story-oriented game, more by the seat of my pants. My players justify that attitude. I can play in just about anything ranging from pure roleplaying to combat grinds.
Favorite Module ever? Expedition to the Barrier Peaks. I loved the mix of sci-fi and fantasy way back when. Crown of the Kobold Kings is a close second, because it's the first game my son DM'ed, and he had no qualms about killing off my rogue.
Most unbalanced character you ran? Using the archer rules from one of the "Best of Dragons" from the '80s, I played a character Q'eynai Farshot who would do no less than 100 points of damage a round. The DM killed him pretty much out of spite, and I don't blame him.

Hard to classify: I think that I combine element of a gamist (power gamer), simulationist (recreation of history/science), and narrativist (storyteller). I seem to bounce between the different styles.
Genre-wise: I prefer Superheroes, Science Fiction (Space Opera), Modern Fantasy, and High Fantasy - Pretty Much in that order.
Favorite Module ever?
That is a tough call:
AD&D: T1 - The Village of HommletShadowrun: Mercurial
Champions: Mob Rule
Most unbalanced character you ran?
Shadowrun A Troll Samurai named "Lucky" - While the character seemed okay starting out, the way target numbers and successes are/were calculated in previous editions of Shadowrun rapidly made the character nearly invincible. Before he was retired (by mutual agreement of both the player and the Game Master) he was able to solo opposition meant to challenge the entire party.

Age: 27
Occupation: Aircraft Fuel Systems Craftsman (USAF)
Type Of Person: More of an introvert, unless I'm among friends. Definitely have some stubborn traits.
Interesting Points: I've been to many different places around the world thus far and worked on several airframes, but beyond that, I'm more or less the average joe.
Gaming Style: The role-player. I prefer to play a character I can explore and interact with my fellow players and their respective characters. But doesn't mean that I don't like to do some cleaving in-between...
Favorite Module Ever: Return to the Tomb of Horrors. There's some sort of allure about tackling the impossible challenge that's irresistable.
Most Unbalanced Character You Ran: Tacred, the Dark Paladin. The only evil character I've ever played, he could cut through almost anything with a two-hander, but he was a magnet for lightning bolts.
