And then up pops KaeYoss saying "Don't post about 4e here - you have a thread of your own for that". To which I basically replied "Don't tell me what to do". That is the sort of thing which bugs me, and it happened here too. Sure, you are angry. Sure, you don't like 4e. But if the subject gets raised, I will respond if I have something to say, even on a "non-4e" thread. Especially as "anti-4e" seems to be perfectly OK. I'm not saying don't post it - just don't be surprised if someone feels differently. None of you own this messageboard. If you don't want to hear a dissenting voice, email each other or something. Because I have the right to add constructively to a conversation where I deem it relevant - that is the democracy inherent in this medium. And I seriously resent anyone telling I can't because they want to fulminate in private. Like I say, play your game as you see fit, but don't tell me where I cannot comment. Because that is rude.
Except, there is ZERO gained by you coming in here complaining in a thread of someone selling off their 4e books in aticipation for pathfinder, or going back to 3.x
Nothing gained. NADA, just going back to edition war. Like your stirring the pot.
I guess by your post, I should go to the 4e area and see what I should be saying when someone says "I like 4e" to which I should say "3.x did it better" or "Pathfinder will do it much better"
Becuase its exactly what your doing. Stirring the pot. Feel free to post a "disenting" view, but dont be suprised when your called on called on it. Say what you want, but dont be suprised when others start on you, trolling.

That's not really fair. No one came in and slandered Pathfinder as retribution. That's an imaginary Pathfinder-hater. I don't think this person exists.
KaeYoss threw the first shots here with an over-reaction. I don't think it was appropriate, but it was sort of understandable. Near as I can tell this whole pointless conflict grew out of people reprimanding KaeYoss for overreacting, then everyone losing site of what they were even upset about, degenerating into: "Pathfinder rules!" "Stop insulting me because I like 4e too!!" "But Pathfinder rules!"
I don't even think people read the posts anymore.
I sure don't.

Nobody 'slandered' 4e either. And this didn't start with KaeYoss. He only came in and posted what others were thinking. joela can say he didn't mean anything snide with his question, but I was thinking the same thing KaeYoss was when he read it.

Yeah, okay. That sounds about right.
I don't think I can even pinpoint the moment things went wrong. There was definitely some reading-between-the-lines from the regular posters, extending some fight I never bothered to follow before.
My point stands though, these people are having conversations with themselves, and only listening to the other person long enough to get angry about imagined insults.
whoops - I mean, "Stop Hating Me Because I Like 4e!"

The thread got flagged to hell and back yesterday while I was napping and today while I was coding. I'm trying to think of a reason not to just close it off.
I'm also getting a little tired of seeing the same usual suspects show up in the flag queue -- All. The. Frigging. Time. Can we please stop trying to push each other's buttons? And maybe take a few minutes to perhaps, I dunno, not respond when your button is the one that got pushed?
By now everybody knows where everyone else's buttons are, and pretty much what will happen when those buttons get pushed. Tiresome. And it takes away from important duties, like new avatars, Pathfinder Society scenarios or wishlists.
