It's actually pretty amazing how far things can coast forward on inertia alone. GM, sub-prime lenders, the US economy from 2000 to 2007. Eventually friction and gravity still win in the end.

Or worst my AP ships before the 13th and I have to wait until the second AP comes in to get the Big Book.

Good question. If you have your shipping options set to Ship When my Pathfinder AP comes in, then it should ship with that. However, I will let teh big wigs answer that.

Edit - Also, since this stuff needs to be available to Paizo BEFORE Gen Con, my guess is that you should be getting everything around the same time.

If everything arrives according to plan, all of the August releases will ship at the same time in early August.

BTW, Amazon has updated the ship date of the PFRPG to August 19th.

When are the overseas PFRPG orders expected to ship ? W

hile I'm pretty certain that the ever-wonderful Polish postal service won't deliver it on Aug 13th, I would love to get my dirty little hands on the PDF a.s.a.p.

I suppose now would be a bad time to mention that I once spent an afternoon designing rules for a party game called High Fantasy Football, in which actions are resolved based on events occurring in a real-world football game...

International orders will be among the first to leave the building in early August. But regardless of when your printed copy ships, nobody will be able to download the PDF until August 13.

After seeing the YouTube video, my excitement level reached the point where I got out of my proceastnation loop and finally pre-ordered it. Then last night I had a dream that paizo accidently sent me mine really early! It was BEAUTIFUL! I was so excited and just sat there in bliss staring at it, thinking of all people on the paizo board and that this lucky accident happened to me! And then I turned my head for the slightest second and it turned into an old, worn, outdated copy of a D&D "special" rulebook. I was crushed. I'm still deeply sad that my dream couldn't have ended on a happier note.

(I also think this might actually be bigger than my laptop.)

I've got the snowboard under my feet
I can fly so high, I can fall so deep
But who do I see comin' up the track
A little green man with the snowboard on his back

He said: and now I'm flying like an angel to the sun
My feet are burning and I grab into another world

With the lord of the boards you'll come and get around
With the lord of the boards, go mad like a clown

I can stay behind him if I can
I wanna be a little more than an also-ran
Through every curve hes got me beat
And maybe its time that I accept defeat

And now I'm flying like an angel to the sun
My feet are burning and I grab into another world

With the lord of the boards, go mad like a clown (4x)

Beautiful book. Really amazing. Took my breath away.

I have been hemming and hawing about "going back to 3.5" but, you know what, that book is a must have for me. Really, the only 3.5 games I have been running were Pathfinder Society games.

But honestly, with the previews I have seen and the details we know are going to be in the book, even the "not sure about 3.5 anymore" line has a ring of untruth about it.

In fact, the current plans for my home group are to stop playing 4e around 10th level (which is about 6 sessions away) and then start up a PFRPG game set in Golarion. You know, for the sake of comparison. ;)

Based on how things are going with my current 4e game, I imagine we will play Pathfinder for awhile before we make a decision on which is our game of choice. Which is a round-about way of saying that PFRPG could be pulling ahead. :)

I knew this would happen. I might even have been just about to write parts of that down myself.

Too bad they quit.

Good looking book although a lot of the art seemed to be re-used art from adventure paths and the like (of course that could just be from the way they chose whatever pages to flick to in the book) So I am curious how much of the book is new art (Including the coloured artwork of the Prestige Iconics?)

I don't have an exact percentage or whatnot, but we did reuse some art in the book. Basically, we went through the book, thought about what art should be there, and if we already had a piece that we liked alot and it fit, it went into the book. If we didn't, we had a new piece created.

I have mentioned this a few times in various threads, but the main reason we did this was to keep the cost of the core rulebook down so we could keep it under $50. Originally, if we had new art throughout, we would have had to sell the book at $69.99! That was just too high to get any penetration with new customers (or old for that matter), so some art got reused to keep the cost down. Besides, it will be all new art for a lot of the people buying the book. And on top of that, we all really LIKE a lot of the artwork that we've already done. No sense in not showing off your best pieces!

You guys made the right choice there.

I look forward to lugging this monstrosity around with me at Gencon Indy.

That's interesting..

I have, of course, played it too.

I noticed going through most instances and raids people casually talking about football, or who they went out on a date with, whether they liked the latest movie that just came out, or their vacation last year and where they hoped to go this year, Direct Tv versus Dish Network, and.. Hey! Pay Attention! The Boss is coming!

Oh, so they got back together. Now, if only the Farmer Boys resurfaced with a studio album, too (something more along the lines of Cows and World, a little - well, a lot - less Other Side, and I'd be content.

Can you instead use a crossbow or a sling or a longbow? :) :) :)

Or shurikens? :)

Hell, just show us how well it stops a Broadsword strike! That is what I want to see. ~WEG~ Have Jason show us how much faith he has in the PF RPG and strap it on his chest to see if it will stop a sword strike! ~Grins and runs~

I've got a really nice 40# red oak longbow, a small variety of firearms, friends in film production and y'all can trust me. ;)

The 576 page Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook: Because backpain is awesome.

... that sounds about right.

Still stoked about how big this book is ... I mean if my wife threw this at me for killing her character, that would pretty much be it for me. Game over ...

What makes this really exciting for me is the book comes out on my 33rd birthday. I have two reasons to celebrate. :)
