Stealth check 1d20+2 [1,2] = (3)

Male 1/2 Elf Fighter 2 (Guardian)

As Lareth turns back to whisper his warning, his grip slips on the wall he's holding onto and he goes clattering to the floor, possibly taking Brazimal with him.

"Sergeant Fleur, there's just no way we can through the rubble blocking the passage. As it stands the opening is only big enough for a child to fit through."

The man stands shaking infront of the Sergeant.

"Well than I suggest you find a child, or cut your appendages of to fit in there." He sips from a tea cup.

"I will not have people like you cost me a chance to be recognized in this town. And I will not have anyone like Faringray or one of the others the others Sergeant regimants beat me to this!"

"You all joined my reigmant because you wanted to be something. Then get back to work. Brake your backs and bodies, and perhaps you'll be part of my legacy."

"thump... THUMP" the clang of metal comes from around the corner,

"Hmm, seems we have rat in this hole. Private take the men and deal with our problem. You have have just found yourself the volunteers you were looking for. If anything don't harm them just place them under arrest."

Lareth's mind races as he tries to think of a way to get the others out of the situation...

Male 1/2 Elf Fighter 2 (Guardian)

Signalling for the others to stay hidden, Lareth quickly scrambles to his feet and stammers, Se...ser...sergeant, fancy meeting you here.

Lying through his teeth he continues, y....you haven't seen a lost dog have you that was sposed to have wandered away high up here in these c...caves, o...only got to by using a r...ro...rope. then petering out of steam as his story becomes more unplausable by the mouthfull, finally deciding that he may be better off if he just shuts his mouth.

"All this way for a dog? What good solider you are. You just happen to be in luck private. The dog you're looking for was just here. While my men were searching this area it ran past us and further into the cave. Unfortunatly there was a collapse and my men have been trying there best to free the poor canine. But so far only a small passage has bee able to be cleared."

He gives a sly look at his private

"But luckly with you here we may save him yet. The passage is far to small for any of us... But you my brave friend would fit nicely. I mean you DO want to help in the rescue of the poor animal right"

Is bruno still outside with me or is he actually in the cave and the guy is bluffing?

I assumed that after Kronag pulled everyone up the cliff they all went in the cave to investigate.

Gah, not only did I fumble the upcoming rolls, my post was eaten

"Hmm, perhaps I'm mistaken in that you're not really here for a poor lost doggy. Lying to a superior... tsk, tsk. You now that's a jailable offense."

"If you'll just be kind enough to have a seat there on the ground. I'll take care of you as soon as we are done with this."

His men begin go back to work moving the rumble from the hole. moving one of the larger rocks a sound comes from somewhere in the rumble

"Ksssssssss..."

"Wha... what is that" Fluer turn and flees to the cavern opening, leaving his men to whatever happens.

Kronag and the others still hidden down the hall notice a man, screaming at the top of his lungs, running to the cave opening.

"FWOOM" The cave in filled with smoke, fire amd flying rocks. Oddly enough Kronag, Lareth and the others are untouched. The same can't be said for the other guards or Fluer, who was flung from the cave due to the explosion.

The guards moan in pain or don't move at all. Infront of Lareth the rubbble is cleared more cave to be explored.

Male 1/2 Elf Fighter 2 (Guardian)

Lareth calls out Is everyone alright as he quickly moves to the downed guards and administers any help he can.

heal checks on up to 4 guards
1d20+6=22, 1d20+6=9, 1d20+6=24, 1d20+6=12

M Half-Orc Rogue (Ruthless Ruffian) 2

Kronag quickly moves to peer out the cave to see what happened to Fluer.

Looking down the half-orc can see Fluer's body near the tree line. Though not trained in treating the human body Kronag is sure limbs are not supposed to bend that way.

Lareth quickly tries to stabilize those he can. One of the guards though is beyond his simple training.

M Half-Orc Rogue (Ruthless Ruffian) 2

Kronag runs back into the cave. "The sergeant -- the sergeant's dead!"

Female Human Shaman 1

"Good. We should kill them all." Jocarra says. "They were willing to kidnap us, people they are supposed to protect. They can't be trusted to guard our town and our families. For all we know, they arranged for the kobold attack in the first place. After all, we didn't tell anyone about these bluffs - how did they know to come here?"

Male Halfling Sorcerer(Wild) 2

"What? Why should we kill them? They didn't do anything. Only dumb-sargent-guy wanted us to go in, and Kronag says he's already dead. Besides, Cave! They wanted in, so there's bound to be something interesting back there!"

"They didn't oppose his order to kidnap us, now, did they? And what do you think they would have done to us if we had been forced into the hole and came back out?" Jocarra speaks calmly, no emotion at all in her voice as she argues.

Male 1/2 Elf Fighter 2 (Guardian)

Lareth finishes up administering to the wounded. Well, anyway, I've managed to take care of these guards except for this one who I was too late to save. Sadly I don't know any of them other than that I ran into them when looking for Captain Faringray.

Lareth then looks into the newly uncovered cave entrance, I think we should take the chance and have a look at whats been blown open and I'll report these guys later to the Captain.

sorry guys, I'm going to be away at a convention for 3 days and won't have net access. Laz please feel free to dmpc me till I'm back.

M Half-Orc Rogue (Ruthless Ruffian) 2

"L- Lareth's right," Kronag says, looking uneasily at Jocarra. "Report them. They only had orders. But something blew up the back of the cave -- let's check that out. These guys aren't going anywhere, and the sergeant's dead -- he's the bad guy."

Lareth takes on of the remaining lit torches and nods to Kronag.

"We should'nt waste time here. Who or whatever caused these explosions wcould be here soon to check the results. Better to explore and meet it head on than to get surprised."

Torch in hand he heads into the mouth of the new opening. Inside broken pots, larger versions of the ones used by the koboolds earlier, dot the opening.

The cave in filled with slight dripping of water, and a loan almost human moan, caused by the air passing through the caves. Still the setting and the sound causes even the bravest of the children to have their hair stand on end.

Streetwise 10+ (everyone recieves a +2 to the check)

Spoiler:

The limestone bluffs between Hightown and Lowtown hold a number of caves, which the folk of Fallcrest have used as burial crypts for centuries. As caves fill up, they are walled off and forgotten about.

Stories abound in town about ancient treasure hoards hidden away in the crypts, and the restless undead that lurk there. Preying on adventures dumb enough to search for them. Sometimes, it's said, the horrors leave their homes and stalk about the town. Dragging the young deep into the catacombs...

"Y'know, I bet there's treasure back here . . . Let's check it out."

Male Halfling Sorcerer(Wild) 2

It looks like DC10. Streetwise: 1d20+6=22

"You know, I heard some odd things about these caves." Corrin leans forward and smiles, ready to tell a story. "You see, people used to bury the dead down here. They'd put all the valuables they had with them, then when the cave got full they'd wall it up. But. there's one problem with that. The dead, they didn't like being walled up. Now, the restless dead rise from their crypts every full moon, ready to drag down innocent children to bolster their ranks."

"Rising d-d-dead? Well we better hurry then right? We don't want to deal with that." Adrana says seeming a little frightened and scratching bruno's ear.

M Half-Orc Rogue (Ruthless Ruffian) 2

"Corrin, stop that." Kronag looks disgusted. "That's just to scare little kids. We'll be fine, Adrana. Besides, we've got Bruno."

Female Tiefling Wizard 1 (XP 642)

Brazimal tries to put on a brave face as the group prepares to move on, but her hands shake as she holds her quaterstaff out and tries to cast a light spell to illuminate their way.

"Un..dead... no problem..."

Streetwise 1d20+5 [7,5] = (12).

Female Human Shaman 1

"There is no need to fear the spirits of the dead." Jocarra says. "The living are much more scary."

Adrana moves along with the group, Bruno stays closely at her side.

Update to come. Little under the weather

Male 1/2 Elf Fighter 2 (Guardian)

streetwise check (1d20=17)

Lareth looks thoughtfull as he recalls the same stories that the others have told, then confidently states Well as far as I care even if there are dead things walking around down here, and I ain't saying there aren't, I'll be just as happy if they leave us alone then we'll leave them alone, no harm done.

He then covers the body of the dead guardsman with a cloak before moving protectively to the front of his fearless group of friends.

Moving slowly and carefully threw the passages the party passes by many walled up entrances. Probably leading to previously used gravesites. As they continue the passage they notice it opens ahead to a larger area.

Perception checks please, also could I get a marching order please

Map coming soon, sorry again just not feeling well

M Half-Orc Rogue (Ruthless Ruffian) 2

Perception (1d20+7=24)

Male 1/2 Elf Fighter 2 (Guardian)

Front for me unless somebody else wants the mine detector job

Female Human Shaman 1

"If you want to leave the dead alone, maybe, just maybe, we shouldn't walk into thier home." Jocarra points out in an amused voice.

Perception: 1d20+9=15 I'll be in the middle.

Male Halfling Sorcerer(Wild) 2

Perception: 3

I'll be third in line.

Female Tiefling Wizard 1 (XP 642)

Perception 1d20-1 [5,-1] = (4) I will be second to last.

Kronag and Jocarra hear movement and low yapping coming from darkness. Quickly warning the others they prepare for whatever waits ahead.

Initiatives. Kronag and Jocarra can act in a surprise round.

Kronag, Jocarra

Spoiler:

In the light of Lareth's torch you both see large stalactites hanging high above. They look like they could fall at any moment

MAP, the green-brown spots are stalactites. The dark gray area are in total darkness. A person with a torch (only Lareth so far) moving into F-H11 can illuminate the whole map.

M Half-Orc Rogue (Ruthless Ruffian) 2

Kronag goes first (and carries an everburning torch)

Init (1d20+7=27)

Kronag readies to send a slingstone at whatever seems threatening.

Edit: Specifically, readying a Deft Strike so that he can move for line of fire as part of the attack. Go ahead and roll for me if it happens.

Taking his torch, Kronag moves into the frontline. His torch illuminates the area revealing the more stalactites, but also a reptilian threat. Six kobolds, two barely visibile on large ledges, stand ready.

He launches stone at hammer wielding kobold (HT) before moving out of the line of fire from the others.

Deft Stike on HT, 1d20+8=16 (+2 for having combat advantage); Damage 1d6+4=10, SA +2d6=5; Total 15

The stone rattles the kobolds skull sending it into a yapping frenzy.

A thin, orange speckled skinned kobold (HD) stares at the half-orc... All of sudden it grins, blows a raspberry and slaps it rear.

Taunting Jeer vs. Kronag, 1d20+7=24 vs Will; HD moves to H2, Kronag is pulled to H10

For some reason Kronag takes more offense to it than he possibly should, and chases after the kobold.

SB also get one action but I'll wait for Jocarra to post her action. And Initiatives.

I also can't see the map. I'll target HT if he's within 5 square, and if not, any kobold who is.

Jocarra calls on the spirits to attack the kobold, shrieking ghosts responding to her call.

Haunting Spirits: 1d20+4 vs will: 1d20+4=23 Damage: 1d6+4: 1d6+4=9 and HT (or whomever I got) grants Kronag CA until the end of my next turn.

GAH, Looks like part of post got ate. SB isn't talking it's action. Just observing the battle for now. Sorry about that.

M Half-Orc Rogue (Ruthless Ruffian) 2

Kronag, startled by the taunter, takes cover from the kobold even as he reloads his sling and moves in on his original target with a wicked grin. After releasing a stone, he deftly switches weapons.

Deft Strike vs HT AC w/Sneak (1d20+6=15, 1d6+4+2d6=13) Move to F10 as part of attack. I believe I still get First Strike on HT -- if not, then only 5 damage (assuming a hit). Then two minors to stow sling and pull mace.

Kronag's stone hits true again. The kobold remains in howling, yapping state barely able to remain on it's feet.

You do indeed get your bonus damage. Plus +2 to the attack for it granting CA

SB dances around the stalactites coming to a stop beside the half-orc. It delivers a quick, flashy sword attack hoping to pentrate Kronag's defenses.

1d20+9=20; Damage 1d6=3

The strange speckled kobold again throws taunts at Kronag.

Taunting Jeer (move) 1d20+7=14 vs Will; HD moves to H6 and pulls Kronag to I7.

Seeing that the half-orc took it's bait it lashes out with it's own blade.
