Background:
Spoiler:
Put out by his parents (whomever they were) at an early age, Kronag does not remember having any family -- all he remembers are the streets. By the time he was 5, he had been recruited by the River Rats. His small size (at the time), natural agility, and complete lack of conscience were assets they could take advantage of. He lived on the streets, scrounging for food, and doing whatever the Rats needed done. By the time he started to get his growth (and his strength), he was quite the brute and had graduated from sneak-thief jobs to muggings and extortion. A year ago, though, he was caught trying to steal weapons from Teldorthan Ironhews. He wasn't quite stealthy enough, and Teldorthan caught him. The dwarf, realizing how young Kronag was, had a plan. By offering Kronag hot food and the first kindness the half-orc had ever known, Ironhews found himself with a raw new apprentice. Kronag has since been a hard worker and (mostly) avoided the Rats, who hold no love for him now, but don't dare attack him directly -- not only due to fear of Kronag himself, but of his patron. Kronag even pledged himself to Erathis -- his own idea, to turn his back on his earlier ways, but one that endeared him to Teldorthan, who rewarded him with a gift of a steel baton that ever glows as a torch, Kronag's most prized possession. Still not accustomed to anything like a home life, Kronag chooses to sleep in the smithy and dedicates himself to his new craft. While he honors his oaths to the best of his ability, he still is not far from his harsh upbringing and has a violent temper.
