Brazimal |

Brazimal bows before Nimozaran and stares at the kobold corpses.
"I shall do as you ask. Though I fear my magic may not be strong enough yet on its own to succeed. At the disturbance in the marketplace there were several other youths like myself who fought back against the kobolds. With your permission, Master, I'd like to try and seek some of them out to help me in this task."

"I shall do as you ask. Though I fear my magic may not be strong enough yet on its own to succeed. At the disturbance in the marketplace there were several other youths like myself who fought back against the kobolds. With your permission, Master, I'd like to try and seek some of them out to help me in this task."
Nimozaran strokes his beard and smilies at his new pupil.
"Everything is easier with friends. Gather them and see if they would accompany you the task. Weither they do or not return here when you're ready. I have something to aid you on the journey."
After excusing herself, Brazimal start back down the impossibily long staircase. On her way down she passes Tobolar. His face partially cleansed and wearing new robes. As he passes he coughs up a cloud of smoke.

Brazimal |

So, who's interested in going to have a look for these Kobolds.
The little tiefling girl approaches Lareth and tugs on his shirt, saying quietly to him, "If we want to find the kobolds, we should head for Kobold Hall. I would like to go with you if you don't mind. Just let me know when we would leave, there's still one more thing I'd have to do before I can go."

Lareth |

Lareth looks carefully at each of the smaller ones as he continues to be upbeat while answering their questions one by one
Well, really, the militia haven't asked any of you to do this and I really wouldn't be happy taking you with me if this was any sort of pitched battle. I just thought it might be fun to have a look around for where they came in and maybe get in a little scrap if theres any stragglers. I wouldn't want anyone to be in any serious danger.
Shifting his gaze to Brazimal he says I've only heard stories about Kobold hall and I would love to go check them out but maybe we should go to the bluffs first and see where that leads us. As my Step ma says theres no use jumpin inta the fire when you're already cookin in the frypan. Anyway I'm sure we can wait for you till you get back
Finally he shrugs and admits to all My Sergeant has asked me to check out this for him and I could get in trouble for taking you all with me but it just seemed like we all really worked well together. I know I'm not the smartest guy in town and I think you all might notice stuff that I don't. Besides this may be important for the town and our folks.

Lareth |

The small tiefling looks to the others with a sly smile on her face.
"Well, let me know when and where you want to meet to get this expedition underway so I can finish taking care of what my Master has tasked me with."
Well, why don't the rest of us go and poke around near the bluffs and you can meet us there when your done Lareth says with friendly smile, relieved that his new friends are just as keen to chase any left over kobolds out of town.

Laz |

Having decided the younglings make there way to the bluff. Jocarra, Adrana, and Corrin help in their own ways in pointing just where they though they say the kobolds moving from. This eventually leads to them tracking through the woods near the bluff.
Coming to a stop at the sheer face, they see quite the sight. Multipule forms, all wearing the blue uniform of guardsman, climbing at different points on the cliff. Some scale from the top. While others climb, barely, up the face. They all seem to be doing the same. Checking the numerous cave openings for signs of kobolds.
Kronag, Jocarra, Adrana all of your passive perceptions were high enough to not need the rolls.
Perception 16+
To the east of you, you barely notice the rope that's blending into it's surrounding. You can see it strecthes some 50+ feet and trails off a ledge.
Nature 16+
You notice tiny reptilian (kobold) tracks. Following them back you find a rope leading to a ledge high above.

Lareth |

Perception and Nature roll (1d20+1=3, 1d20+1=21)
Looking around at the edge of the forest Lareth points out some tracks he's found.
I think these are kobold tracks here and look they lead over to this rope which I think is hanging down from that ledge way up there he says as he gazes and points to an outcrop far above.
He gives it a brief tug to check how secure it is. It seems like it will hold
Laz, do you want me to make some sort of skill check to see how safe the rope is for climbing

Lareth |

I'm a pretty good climber Lareth proudly states, almost boasting. I'll go first, you guys come up after me.
He then attempts to climb the rope and appears to struggle with it as he starts. Hey, it's not funny he admonishes Kronag who can't repress a laugh at Lareths difficulty, while the others try to hide the smirks on there faces.

Jocarra Delorr |

Jocarra goes second, the girl seeming to talk to herself for a few moments before the climb.
Using Speak with Spirits for a +4 bonus to the Athletics check. 1d20+9=29 Not that I ended up needing the bonus :)

Kronag |

To make this go a bit faster. You only need to roll one Athletics check to scale the bluff (normally it would be 4 checks, but that would REALLY drag this out
I've been waiting on the results of Lareth's climb, in case something happens -- should I not?

Corrin Halfmoon |

Corrin grbs onto the rope and begins climbing down. Then the cat jumps onto his shoulder, he loses his grip and begins to tumble down.
Athletics: 1d20=3 Any way I could use Acrobatics to grab back onto the rope, or at least not break all my limbs?

Corrin Halfmoon |

Corrin desperately grabs at the rope, but he continues to fall. "AHHHHHHH-hey Lareth-HHHHHHHH" "Haven't we jumped out of high places before? What did I tell you to do?" "AHHH-oh yeah, tumble. Alright." He does so, and after he lands he pops up and shouts "That was great!
Athletics, and Acrobatics to land without going to exactly 0HP: 1d20=5, 1d20+8=27 Well, I'm now bloodied.

Lareth |

Looking down at Brzimal Lareth yells looks like this is the only way, why don't you tie the rope around yourself and we'll pull you up.
Lareth only then just notices the fallen halfling. Concern written over his face he calls Hey, are you all right Corrin, maybe you should come up the same way

Laz |

don't know what skill we'd need to do it though
No check required. Kronag, Lareth or Jocarra can make an Athletics check 15+ to pull up the others (Adrana, Brazimal, Corrin and Bruno). Those that don't make the main check can Aid Another, Athletics check DC 10 to add +2 to the check. Those being pulled up can make the Aid check aswell.

Brazimal |

Brazimal ties the rope around her and shouts up to the others,
"I'm ready when you are!"
Athletics check to aid 1d20+1 [8,1] = (9). Good thing I'm having the others pull me up.

Kronag |

I think Kronag's got the best Athletics check, so he'll do the main pulling (if that's ok) and accept aid.
"C'mon, Lareth, let me do it. I don't have that clanky armor messing me up."
Athletics - Adrana, Brazimal, Corrin, Bruno (1d20+8=21, 1d20+8=24, 1d20+8=20, 1d20+8=12)
"Whew. I'm getting tired. Someone help me with this dog."

Corrin Halfmoon |

Corrin hangs limply as he is pulled up, glaring at the cat sitting on his shoulder. "I wouldn't of fell if you hadn't jumped on me." "How else would I have gotten up?" "You didn't even want to come!"
Spending 2 healing surges. One question: Is this the same day as the attack?

Laz |

Kronag shows his orcish strength and easily pulls up all of the others. Though afterward he takes a moment to catch his breath.
From deep in the cave everyon notices the flicker of torch light and the movement of feet.
Spending 2 healing surges. One question: Is this the same day as the attack?
Yes it is

Lareth |

Lareth heaves on the rope with Kronag to help getting the party up. He then readies his weapons Quick, looks like we've got company and I'll bet it's their friends
lift bruno
athletics (1d20+7=19)

Laz |

Entering the cave they approach cautiously. Weapons at the ready for whatever may come there way.
"Hurry up you fools. To believe such idiots are a part of my regiment. You should feel privilaged just have me talking you and for having the honor of doing this task."
The voive is very human. Very arrogant, very whiny and very familiar to Lareth.
Weapons still at the ready they turn a corner where the torch light seems to be coming from. Further down the cave they see five guards men clearing a path through some rumble. Behind them, surrounded by the torch light and sitting on a chair, is a man with a long nose and oily hair.

Lareth |

Lareth signals to the party to keep silent as he peers around the corner to see if he can work out whats going on.
Suspecting it's the same Sergeant he ran into earlier, the one he didn't like the look of, he quietly indicates to his friends,
"I think it's the Sergeant I've never seen before until today, and I think he's up to no good. We should see if we can catch him red handed."
