Corrin dusts ash from his clothes and face. Finding a place away from the residule heat he sits coughing. Not long afterward loud purring sound can be heard.
The gray cats sits near him grooming itself. His fur somewhat charred from the blaze. "Boss if it's not a bad time, how about that fish we talked about earlier? We should have grabbed some while before we ran into the fire. It woulda been smoled and cooked to purrrrrfection by now"

Lareth |

"Check with you friends see if they saw anything before the attacks. If they did report to me or your watch sergeant. Whatever you do don't try to tackle this job alone" He gives Lareth a smile and a nod and goes checking on the cleanup.
yes sir, thank you sir. Lareth salutes and heads off to find his friends and see that everyones ok, also gathering up his javelin on the way.
When he's able to talk to any of his fellow kobold killers he says thanks for your help back there, I couldn't have done it alone.
Did you happen to see where all those kobolds came from by chance, or see anything strange on your way here. Lord Faringray really wants to know how they got in and he reckons they're from the cloakwood

Corrin Halfmoon |

Corrin dusts ash from his clothes and face. Finding a place away from the residule heat he sits coughing. Not long afterward loud purring sound can be heard.
The gray cats sits near him grooming itself. His fur somewhat charred from the blaze. "Boss if it's not a bad time, how about that fish we talked about earlier? We should have grabbed some while before we ran into the fire. It woulda been smoled and cooked to purrrrrfection by now"
"Oh, alright, we'll go back and get you some fish." Corrin then begins walking back to the market with a spring in his step.

Kronag |

Kronag is sitting and resting when Lareth comes by to ask his questions.
"Hey, Lareth, the slinger had this on him. You think it means anything?"
Kronag holds out a rusted metal loop. On the loop scales of differnet shades of color. A crudely made bone charm, etched to look like a dragons head.

Brazimal |

Remembering her master's orders, Brazimal turns from the aftermath of the kobold raid and begins to make her way towards the Septarch Tower. Her feet drag a bit though as her mind races trying to understand how the kobolds got into the town without anyone noticing and what was with their strange behavior...

I honestly don't know, but do you mind if I show it to the captain? He might have some idea

No problem, I'll just say I found it on the body
After checking with Kronag, Adrana and Jocarra he says I'll meet up with you later to let you know what he said, the lucky gnomes a good place.
Lareth then heads off with evidence in hand to find Captain Faringray and give him what little information he's gathered.

Lareth |

Try as he like Lareth can't seem to find the Captain anywhere. "You there boy! What are you running around for, and what's that you're carring"
Lareth turns to to see stern, slimy looking man. The stripes on his uniform indictate him as a sergeant.
If it's Sergeant Gerdrand I'll say Sir, Captain Faringray asked that I bring any information to him. I have found this talisman and several people saw strange movement in the bluff before the kobolds attacked.
if it's another sergeant then i'll say Sir, I'm just trying to find Captain Faringray, he ordered me to bring some information to him

Laz |

Approaching the Lucky Gnome, Kronag sees a slender attractive form in the doorway. Her red hair loose and down to her back, and platinum eyes that shines like stars. Kronag knew her well in his time spent with the River Rats, Amelia. Her most attracitve feature though was her ability to go one-on-one with him.
"Afternoon Kronag. You weren't thinking about coming in were you? Kelson wouldn't like that. Especially after you leaving us and all"

Laz |

Nope not Gerdrand
"Captain Faringray! Are you not a guardsman! That... that man is a mere commoner, a militiaman, with a fancy title! If you were one of my subordinates..." The man brings his handup as if to backslap Lareth. He soon realizes he's in the open and lowers his hand.
"Information?" His voice softer, calmer. "What kind of information would that man, and a boy like you have that's so important?"
Lareth
With 60 guardsmen and 12 sergeants, it's easy not to know or forget names and faces.
You can make a streetwise check to see if you can identify him

Laz
Not really liking the look of this sergeant Lareth guardedly claims I'm supposed to report to Sergeant Gerdrand first though, so I should just be off to Kings gate sir, anyway it's just some of the towns folk said they saw something at the bluff but its probably nothing

Brazimal |

Looking at the old halfling, Brazimal couldn't help but remember the rumors of him from the town folk. Mean as devil, and twice as scary. He's really a demon who eats the children. She just faced off with kobolds intent on killing her and the rest of town yet this halfling scared her far more than the reptiles could. Hesitantly she opens her mouth.
"My name is Brazimal, I was sent here by my mentor, Osiran, to continue my studies."

Laz |

Gah the post I made this morning before heading to bed are GONE! Sob... so... much... posting
As he talks the sergeant sneers at him. That is until he mentions the bluffs. His eyes become wide and he tries his best not to smile. "Fine go report your Sergeant than. I do hope the next time we meet you remeber proper etiquette we speaking to some of my standing"

Lareth mumbles a yes, sir before heading straight for kings gate where he hopes to find Sergeant Gerdrand.
just as an aside Laz, have we completed a milestone at all?

"Study? Perhaps your mistaken the schoil is back that way", the halfling points down to Lowtown.
"What could such a young girl like you learn here anyway? I the Great Tobolar Quickfoot, Successor of Nimozaran the Green, and Keeper of the Great Seven-Side Spire..." Tobolar continues rambling on with titles. Becoming bored and aggrivated Brazimal sneaks past the oblivious halfling.
The inside of the spire is even bigger than it would appera from the outside. Perhaps an optical illusion or maybe more. The walls and floor are made with the same green stone. A staircase flows around the spire to levels and rooms to high to see.
"and I'll have... Where'd she... WHAAA!!" Tobolar rushes to block the girl from entering further.
"I never... hey you listening..." his face becomes as red as ripe tomato.
"Fine have it your way!" Tolobar pulls down the top part of his robes. Revealing his pudgy, white body. "Gaze upon the awesine physique of Tolobar the Mighty, Keeper of Forgetten Lore!"
"Not only do I possess AWESOME magical power, I possess the strength to stop interlopers!" With that LIGHT, FLAMES and "Study? Perhaps your mistaken the schoil is back that way", the halfling points down to Lowtown.

"If you wish to go further into the spire you must defeat me! Though a simple girl like yourself could never lay a hand on a person of my talent, power and cunning!" erupt about him.

Lareth |

Making his way as fast as he can, Lareth approaches King's Gate. Two men stand watch, and Lareth finds Sergeant Gerdrand behind a desk filling out papers.
He looks up at the boy and gives an expected grunt.
Lareth quickly moves over to him, stands to attention and salutes. Before coming to a complete stop he bursts out
Sir, Captain Faringray asked that I bring any information to him. I have found this talisman, presenting the symbol he got from Kronag to the Sergeant, and several people saw strange movement in the bluff before the kobolds attacked.

Laz |

"HRMM" is th only sound he makes as he looks at the cride talisman. He shakes his head in an approving manner.
"HMPH" he grunts handing it back, and nods his head toward the bluffs. He stands, his tall form casting as imposing shadow over the young pup, and salutes.
Lareth
I'm playing up on the Sergeant Gerdrand not talking bit. Normally I'd ask for insight to figure this out, but you've been in his command long enough to know what he wants based off his grunts and head shakes.
Mostly he's happy you brought this to him. And wants you to investigate the bluff lead further.

Brazimal
You're pretty sure that the fireworks show is the extent of the halflings power. Even if he did have any other spells they'd probably just be harmless.
Brazimal examines Tolobar's magical prowess as he continues his monologue.
Her eyes snap open as a ball of energy forms and is launched at her. The thing is TOO big for the young mage to dodge! The ball impacts her the energy immediately dissipating.
Obvious that he has no control over his energy circulation!
Odder yet Tolobar doesn't even noticethat the spell has failed. His back turned to Brazimal, head held high in the air, gloating over his "victory".
"Stupid girl was no match for me! Me, Keeper of..."
Brazimal could feel energy surging around she held out her hand and muttered the incantation...
Brazimal continues her exploration of the spire, not longer having to listen the endless monologue of Tolobar.
Tolobar on the other hand lays smoldering on the floor of the spire. His eyes glazed over, but breathing. If anything he learned not to challenge the mage.
"What's this?" A voice call from the stairs.
Descending down them an old man. Gray hair, long beard, and glasses adorn his ancient face.
"I take it child that you are Brazimal. I see you're as full of "fire" as Osiran told me." He gives a small fire.
"Please follow me. We have musch to talk about." He begins to walk up the spiraling staircase.
Without even pausing he calls down "Tolobar, clean yourself up! You're making a fool out of this old man"

Lareth |

Yes Sir, right away Sir. Lareth says as he returns the salute and then heads off eagerly towards the Lucky Gnome and a link up with his friends.
did the sergeant hand the talisman back?

Laz |

As Corrin continues about the market, "Operation: Fish Finder" a failure, he notices Lareth's return from King's Gate.
"I'm never going to eat at this pace" the cat remarks at seeing the guard.
His ears suddenly perk up, "Um, I'll meet you in a minute boss. I need to look into something"
With that he jumps from his perch, Corrin's head. And walks into a group of people.
Jocarra
Making her way back from her delivery, Eclipse draws Jocarra's attention to something moving off the road.
A small lizard stares at the pair. After a moment it scurries into a hole under a rock.
Nature Check 10+ (Joccara)
If the Kobolds did come in through the bluffs, they had to find or dig a hole into them.

Lareth |

he notices Lareth's return from King's Gate.
Ho, Kronag Lareth says as he comes up to the group of people. I recognise Bruno and you must be his mistress, young lady. My names Lareth and I can't thank you enough for Bruno's help during the fight.
Glancing about to see if he sees anyone else from the fight he hands the amulet back to Kronag and says I spoke to my Sergeant and he asked me to have a look around near the bluffs and I was just wonderin if any of you might be willin to come for a look and see how these scaly lizards got in and caused so much trouble?
He leans in Conspiratorially to Kronag, there might be a chance of gettin some more revenge on the curs

Laz |

Brazimal
The old man turns his head and gives Brazimal a kind smile and nod.
As they continue up the impossibily long staircase he points out random areas.
"That's the library... That's the dormitory. Though the only on using it now is Tobolar... Most of this grand spire has gone unused since the founders were killed during the Bloodspear War"
The walk continue until he stops by a set of large wooden doors.
"This would be the main research laboratory", he says with a smile
He pushes the massive wooden forms open to reaveal a room without description. Tinker toys, half finished golems, arcane formulae, reseacrh of all kind dot the room and floor.
"Now to show you what I'm working on currently. I'm quite sure you saw the 'squabble' that occured below in the mareket..."
He leads her to a lone door on the side of the room. Inside, on two slabs, lay kobold corpses. Their bodies carefully dissected. Along the wall of the room lay items taken from the kobolds. Scraps of cloth, strange bone carvings, small colored pots, and weapons.
"I've been studying these kobolds for sometime. Kobolds are becoming too organized and too aggressive. Nothing like the one's I've dealt with in past. I believe something... is moving these kobolds into action. And that's were you come in my dear."
He smiles and takes a pipe from his green robes.
"You've already proven yourself of skill with the arts. Beating poor Tobolar into ash. I'd like you to go to Kobold Hall and find the secret behind their aggression. Whatever it is it has to hidden in there lair."
He light the pipe and finds his way to seat
"Think of this as hands on training, field work if you would. I would send Tobolar of course, but I fear in his current state wouldn't fare well. Plus I have the feeling I'll have to remind of some the basics to energy control"
A look of frustration shows on Nimozaran's face

Jocarra Delorr |

Upon arriving back in town Jocarra seeks out the others who repelled the attack, Eclipse once more wrapped around her. "Eclipse and I were talking on the way back and we decided that the kobolds had to tunnel to get close to the town. That would, of course, mean the tunnels could be found."
