There were many different end-of-world scenarios: machine rebellion, government created plague, meteor strike, environmental disaster. No one suspected what would really happen - and RPG company!

Walked to Venice Beach, enjoying the 'views' on the way, and had dinner (of course had to get a chicken BREAST) 2 blocks from the ocean. CA is back on my happy list. :)
Best work trip I ever had was to Long Beach, CA. There was plenty of "good viewing" there. :)
