I have art class tomorrow. Hopefully I will feel well enough to go.
And then gaming tomorrow night. Normally this would be a happy, but one of the players is being a jerk and the DM has us on the rails but bad which is making it both boring and frustrating. So...let's just get this over with. Part of me hopes she'll just finish melting down so we can call the game already and go back to playing something more fun.

lol. Yeah, that works great when my husband is the DM. But this time it's a friend of ours and he's not good at managing player meltdowns. And wow is she having one.

LOL, you will have to go into a bit more detail tomorrow. I am headed to bed. :)
I will tell you about the time that I held out for three weeks when we were dating over the death of a PC, and not one of mine, but one of his! :)![](/WebObjects/Frameworks/Ajax.framework/WebServerResources/wait30.gif)

Good morning, everyone! I'm sorta getting used to this 6-ish thing.
I'd like to hear both of your stories. I've never actually been in a game where someone melted down. The worst game I was in was the one where the DM was trying to get into some girl's pants by having her "find" all the treasure in the module. He wasn't successful.

Got pulled over by a cop this morning on the way to work. Actually a good thing, sort of - turns out that when I renewed my registration, I must have thrown away the little sticker that goes on the licence plate. So, he checked to make sure my registration was actually up to date, then let me go.
He was very nice and polite. Then again, so was I. That's one of the best lessons my dad ever taught me - always be sincerely polite to police - more often than not they'll be nice in return. That has never failed me.

I must not be sincere enough--I always get a ticket. Except the one time when I was in the Air Force and I got pulled over in Kansas by someone who was in the Air National Guard and he saw my military ID. We talked for about 20 minutes, and then he let me go.
When I was a teenager, I was a passenger in a friend's car, and the way my friend was acting, I was pretty sure I was going to be walking home when he got put in jail and the car got impounded.

It should, my first apt is at 9:30 and my last is at 3:30, with a pretty decent pay. That and the girl that does payroll said she'd get some money for drive time yesterday. :D

Lucky badger. I was driving cross country and a buddy had told me if I hung my dress uniform in the window cops wouldn't give me a ticket. Well halfway across Kansas I got pulled over for speeding. The cop came up, wrote me up a ticket and then pulledout his note book. He wrote a couple of things in his notebook and then handed me the page. It turns out that he had been an Air Force drill instructor and the note was all the things that needed to be fixed on my uniform. And they were little things, like lint on the collar, that only a D.I. would pick up on.

It's not really all that interesting. Just frustrating. One of my fellow players has decided that the rules of common courtesy do not apply to her, either in game or out. Our group is plagued with this sort of thing lately. See it's two couples and one guy. Well, first my husband and I had a thing that derailed the game for a bit. He kept saying that he didn't have time to level his character or learn how his stuff worked. So he got me to do it for him. Again. This is really bad when you consider that he's usually the DM. He should know this stuff by now. But anyhow, I found out that he was misapplying some rules and he totally freaked when I pointed it out. Combine that with my character getting plot-frakked at right around the same time and I was more than over this particular game. And the DM was gonna call it, but one of the other players convinced him not to. SO...I was given carte blanche to rewrite my character, my husband was required to change characters for something more simple that he could manage without my help, and since we're much better able to be civil to each other these days, our part of this debacle was pretty well past. However, that doesn't do much for the rest of the team. See, the DM is having problems at home too and his wife is pissed that he keeps spending so much time on gaming, so his stress level is pretty high. And the other couple in the group also started having problems. And this is apparently what is causing the current meltdown. Out of game it's fine, we get it, we're all in the same boat. Nobody begrudges her a need to blow off a little steam. The problem is that she's decided to do that by making sure that nobody else is having any fun. She's munchkined her character to the max and gets pissed if we're ever in any situation where she isn't the star. She keeps wandering off in the middle of conversations with npcs and threatening random townsfolk for no godd reason. And it gets harder every week to come up with an in-game reason why my PC doesn't just teleport out without her and let her deal with her own damn mess without the cleric to bring her back when she gets killed. Again.
And this is why gaming with couples is not always such a great idea. :/![](/WebObjects/Frameworks/Ajax.framework/WebServerResources/wait30.gif)

That's some bad luck there. He must have heard about the dress uniform thing too. :)
And, yes, Kansas is very easy to speed through. I wish more states with wide open highways were like Montana, where the penalty is fairly light for speeding.

Toxic player stuff
Yeesh! It sucks to have someone try to get all the attention in a game. I hope this is just a phase, and she gets better. Or is that not real likely, and you're going to have to find a new group to play with? I couldn't imagine that being fun for anybody (even the person causing all the problems).

David Fryer wrote:Speeding across Kansas is very easy to do by the way.The same is actually true about certain areas of Michigan -- flat terrain, straight roads, and, at the time of year I went through, hardly any traffic at all.
Ohio is easier to speed through than Michigan, but yes, it can be easy to speed through certain parts of Michigan. And a lot of other parts you really, really don't want to speed. Those curves and hills can get pretty brutal.

I'm not sure if it's just a phase or not. She used to be a good player. Maybe she will be again. In my opinion, this isn't going to stop until we finally hit the kill switch on this campaign. Hopefully the group won't split over this, but I'm prepared for anything at this point. And no, it's not fun for anyone. :(
