Today my kids are doing a program at church. That should be fun. Then all my family and my in-laws are coming over for a birthday dinner for my son. They do not get along. That will not be fun.

You can practice mediating skills. :)

I hope it doesn't go too badly.

As for the Surrogates, let me know what you think of it. We'll probably try to see it next week.

Ah, I feel your pain. My kin and the in-laws are tow things that do not mix, the in-laws can be very sterotypical northerners, my clan has little patience for them.

Sorry you didn't do well on the math stuff. :(

I blame Sharoth.

What gets me is the assignment was to estimate, so her instructor tells her she estimated wrong, and then proceeds to give her the exact numbers she should have reached... I guess they must have changed the definition of estimate. :/

That's really weird. I could see it if the question had "estimate to the nearest 10", which would have a textbook answer, but other than that, I don't get it.

Nah. Being in Hell would be being stuck in an elevator with me for 12 hours or more.

I thought Jackman and Shriever were the only things that saved the movie from going straight to video.

I like Shriever, but he was no Sabretooth. I really do think they should have got Tyler Mane back to play him. He was Sabretooth.

I happen to enjoy the Shadar-Kai. If they were open content they would make a great race of Zon-Kuthon worshiping fey.

Zon Kuthon worshipping fey sounds like a cool assed concept; I bet it could be done independently of Shadar Kai without the "mind splayer" or "eyebolder" kitsch that Paizo's refused to partake of--i.e. it wouldn't necessarily scream "kadar shai" ripoff.

I was actually thinking of a name along the lines of stinovany jedna, which is Nidalese for shadowed one. Or maybe just stinovany, I'm not sure which. Ok so actuly it is Czech, but still...

Edit: Either that or svartálfar, the norse word for dark fey.

Thoughts?

All things norse influenced are good! I can't recal the name of the book, but a several years ago I read a book about a warlord named Halfdane, that was set in the fey realm, it involved the svartalfar and their wars in the other realms. I know it had warlord in the title, but thats all I remember.

Definitely go with the svartalfar. I agree with Moorluck about the Norse mythology.

Perhaps have them summon shadow chains to attack à la Pinhead in Hellraiser?

I've always wanted to see a Cenobite-style foe written up. Perhaps the Svartalfar could be the Shadow plane alternate. Not as powerful as Pinhead, perhaps, but using some of the tropes to give them flavor.

The Kyton could easily be used as a Pinhead.

True. But I was thinking something not quite as blatant. Maybe an urbane shadow elf with a taste for pain, a worship of Zon-Kuthon and the ability to summon chains of shadow to attack others.

We had a family trip to the apple orchard to get some cider and donuts to cheer me up. Fresh warm donuts are awesome. And totally worth the stomachache that comes from eating too many of them. :)

Oooh. That would be pretty creepy, which would fit with what I have in my head for Shadar-Kai.

I also want to figure out mechanically how to add the 4E Shader-Kai's shadow jaunt power to the PFRPG version. It might make them too high level for me.

Then the admins doomed us all. They tried to shut it down, and in self defense the Spirit of FaWTL trasnfered it's conscience to the central defense computers and launched a retaliatory strike.
