Watching Dark City. Good flick -- how did I miss this? Was it a major sleeper?I don't think it did unbelievably well at the Box Office. It is an awesome movie though!
I can't remember what movie shoved it out of the box office--it came out a year before Phantom Menace and The Matrix. I think the marketing was nonexistent for the movie. I agree that it was excellent movie.

The movie was a big flop in theaters but became a cult classic after being released to DVD.
I ended up watching it on DVD. But I had a 4 year old and a 2 year old at the time, so watching movies in the theater wasn't going to happen. I never paid much attention to the box office during that time.

OMG! I just had the most annoying gaggle of girls in, a bridal party, none of them were over 18, and all swore each thing was the nastiest, or coolest thing they had ever seen. I swear if I heard one more " He He I can't belive I just touched THAT , I was going to shove a gag in their mouths, and I have plenty of them!!!
