Moorluck and Solnes, sorry to hear about your son's strep throat. I also hope you don't end up with it. When my kids were younger, they'd get sick and understandably clingy. I sometimes ended up with whatever they had. My wife had it worse. She takes medication to suppress her immune system to fight RA almost always got whatever they had.

That certainly was a lot of posts to get caught up on. The forums are way too long!!!

Welcome back, taig! We've missed you.

Where ya been Taig? Out having wild adventures that can't be printed here on the PG boards?

I didn't realize GI Joe was already in theaters. Guess that changes my plans for the evening a bit. :)

It openned yesterday.

And now begin the negotiations as to who gets to go see it first. :)

My husband and I never go to movies together. For one thing they're expensive enough without paying for a sitter.
That is if you can even find one.

What is this seet-tur you speak of... is it some kind of food? I've honestly never heard of such a thing. ;P

Thanks, CH! I missed everyone here too.

It's amazing how much a hellish week affects the following week.

I wish...

Last week I was just about living at a gas station in Piedmont, SC, while a software install (the first one communicating with a competitor's pumps outside a lab setting) was going horribly awry.

The first day I was there, I ended up staying up for 30 hours, then getting 4 hours of sleep before getting called back because all the pumps went offline again. I stayed through Saturday making code changes on the fly and made sure the software worked OK. During that time I got to see how people reacted to waiting for 5 minutes to get their gas. Most people were understanding, but some were raging a-holes. Some fine specimen decided to take his frustrations out on one of the displays and busted the LCD.

I'd better understand the anger if there weren't a conveniently-located Pilot gas station about 1/4 mile away. Luckily the store owner and territory manager were very understanding and forgiving--probably because they knew I'd gotten 4 hours of sleep in a 48-hour period of time and knew I was working my ass off to get the software to work.

Looks like I won the coin toss and will be going to the movies late tonight. :)

Wow, taig, that sounds horrendous. Well, glad you're back and I hope you don't have another week like that anytime soon.

What do you think they were talking about between themselves?

Probably wondering what the "idiot software guy" was doing. :)

Actually, the site understood that this was a "field trial" of the software and I think the sales guys did an excellent job of explaining that the software may not work perfectly. I did manage to get the site to a good state by the time I left, so I was happy when I finally did go back home.

I bet they were in fact talking about fishing.

You know, I bet you're right.

And I sincerely appreciate the reality check.

I was talking to some people fishing about two weeks ago. They were fishing off our dock, because they live up the hill and not on the water.

The one guy had a tape measure, and kept telling the other two - "nope, have to throw it back."

But, they did manage to take home about six. I think they ate 'em up.

I almost grabbed one flopping around on the deck, but at that last second decided that just wasn't going to happen.

My dad tried to take my fishing and hunting when I was a kid. It never really worked out. I got bored waiting for fish to take the bait, and I got really bored being absolutely still in the hopes a deer would show up. I'm glad my own children have my father-in-law nearby to take them fishing.

These three were a grandpa and two grand children.

Sorry to hear you had a crappy time Taig.... but it's good to see your furry face back on the neverending thread.

I may regret posting this but was anyone aware that the name Sebastian is old latin meaning Majestic,or Venerated.

And here I thought that it meant Sparkly and Rainbow Maned.
