If I rank the banquet at a 4 to ensure I get in (since I bought a ticket and all) do I waste one of my 4's? Or should I mark it as a 0 so that it doesn't take away from my chances of getting into something else? Is purchasing a ticket a guaranteed seat, or do I have to lottery myself in in addition to the ticket purchase?

D'oh. I meant to treat the banquet special but forgot. Ignore the banquet. The only way to get in is to buy a ticket -- you can't get in via the lottery and you don't need to assign it a preference level.

After I hit save it just leaves me on the same page. The event choices are in the right spots. Is this what is supposed to happen?
That's exactly what's supposed to happen. If you don't see your selections, please do it again (with my apologies -- I'm still trying to figure out what might cause them not to take).

How many places there is in Pathfinder Society Interactive: The Grand Convocation? Or can anyone join during friday night? Also when I show event details it shows: "When PAIZOCON 2009: Sat, Jun 13, 2009, 05:00 AM – 11:00 PM " but in event header it shows "07:00 PM – 11:00 PM".
Is it trying to show times in my time zone in event details? Starting time seems to be but ending time is not.

How will it work if I choose a buddy, who is running three scheduled games and so can't attend during some of the time slots that I want to fill?
Can someone give me an answer to this. I'd like to play games with my fiance when she's available but when she's not I don't want to be twiddling my thumbs.

Was an email sent out with sign up info, or what?
It sounds like people can access sign up info, but I haven't received any info, and though my Downloads section shows my tickets, it doesn't have any further info...
I wasn't previously signed up to receive any emails from Paizo, but I switched that preference to "allow" when I thought I may have missed out on an email announce...???

I'm getting some weird time issues when looking at the schedule. To the upper right of each entry is a time, but when I look at the event details tab, the times for many events do not match. Also, a number of them end before they start (ie 05:00 pm - 04:00 pm) or last less than a minute (ie 01:00 pm - 01:00 pm). I'd like to make sure I get this right and timed well since this is my second time to do this signup.

I looked at all the events that start at 5pm and I'm not seeing any that end at 4pm. What event are you seeing this on?
edit: Whoops, never mind, now I see where you're getting that from. I'll fix it later today. For now, trust the times shown in the event header.

Thanks Daigle, it's working for me now, I just missed that little link before...
One question though:
Iron Illustrator (3-5) conflicts with Paizo Fight Club (4-6),
and the Fight Club says "Rule 5: If this is your first PAIZOCON, you have to fight."
How exactly is this rule enforced? :-)
And since it seems like the art portion of Iron Illustrator is only taking up the first hour (until 4), is it possible to create much art, go get destroyed in a gladiator tournament, and then return to see what sort of moustaches (or worse) have been added to your masterpice in your absense?

Hey, another friend of mine got the time off to attend the convention, but doesn't have a credit/debit card at the moment, so I bought another ticket on my account, with the intent to send it to his account. But when I got to My Downloads, it shows the two tickets I purchased before (for me and my girlfriend) and below that it shows the new ticket I just bought, but no space to enter my friends email. Is it because I bought one ticket this time? Anyway, can someone help me please? Thank you!

Okay, another time clarification...
The times listed in the upper right hand side of the event entries seem to be different than the times listed in the details across the board. Are one of these adjusted for time zones? I think planning a schedule in my current time zone is a bad idea when I will not be in said time zone for the event.

I'm pretty sure that's the bug that I think I'm fixing this afternoon...

I thought I would have time to fix the ticket transfer code to handle cases like yours, but I didn't. They'll take care of it for you.

Sorry I couldn't answer earlier, we had to talk about this one a bit so I could be clear on how it's going to work.
The buddy promise is: During the lottery assignments, you and your buddy will either be assigned to an event together, or not at all. That is, you won't get assigned to an event without your buddy. Since we'll be trying to prevent volunteers from being assigned to events that conflict with their volunteered slots, that means that you won't be assigned to any events during those slots either.
I know it may not be the answer you're looking for, but you'll be able to sign up for conflicting events without your buddy during the first-come, first-served open signup phase after the lottery is run.

We can pretty much guarantee that everyone will get to play something every day (and most likely 2 somethings on Saturday) but the volume of attendees vs. the number of events being run by the above folks doesn't merit a promise that we can seat everyone at a game with Erik, James, Jason, Monte, etc.
Just wanted to clarify that lest we unnecessarily get someone's hopes up.
Actually, we can't guarantee *anything*. After all, if somebody ranks, say, only Monte's game with a 4 and gives 0s to all other events that day, well, if that person's lottery number comes up and Monte's game has already been filled, then that person isn't going to any events that day.
What we can say is that we'll do our best to ensure that as many different people get to go to as many events as we can get them into, and the more flexible you are about what events you're willing to attend each day, the more likely it is that you'll get into a few events.

Some events, namely the PFS scenarios are being offered at multiple times. Will something be built into the system to ensure that we aren't registered for the same scenario twice?Yes, since you can't run through a particular scenario more than once there'd be no point to assigning you to the same scenario twice. (And now I can actually hear the lottery code getting more complex...)
Also, for those of us GMing for PFS, how do I know what scenarios I shouldn't sign up for?
I think Josh will be sending an email. Or something. Bug Josh! (Always a good answer to nearly any question.)

Well, there are 4 scenarios, not 7, so at most you could do all four scenarios plus the interactive. Doing all four scenarios means you'd need at least two different characters since the scenarios are 2 entry-level scenarios and 2 mid-level scenarios. The interactive is for all levels.
If your desire is to do all Society only Society then rank the Society slots you want in as "4" and the rest as "0" and you'll have a decent chance of getting in to at least one game in all four scenarios (since you'll get at least one game on Friday, 2 games on Saturday, and 1 game on Sunday).
Of course, you can also organize Society games with folks in the open gaming area as well.
To further clarify my post here, we can't guarantee anything when it comes to the lottery. So while you have a mathematical "chance" to get some of the things you want, there's no guarantees that putting a '4' down for all of the Society games and a '0' down will get you into every game. It's up to your flexibility in the lottery rankings, your choices, and the lottery algorithm as to what you get--you might get some of what you want, you might get all of what you want, and you might get none of what you want. It seems to be the only fair way to do this with such a small number of people and events.

Yoda, if you didn't get the email with your schedule in it, let me know!

If something conflicts with the times I am running, should I just rank those as a zero?I think I'm going to have to coordinate with Josh's list of volunteers to prevent those conflicts, but just to be on the safe side, give a zero to everything that conflicts with events you're going to run.How about for volunteers who are only alternates?
Can I still try to register for something during those slots, in case I'm not needed? Because there's lots of things I'd be interested in attending, rather than just doing nothing during a slot if I'm not needed.
Keep in mind that if we book you for an event for which you can't guarantee your attendance, that would prevent others from being assigned that space. So I'd say that we're going to have to treat you as unavailable.

We have not yet sent out the e-mail... we have a little more behind-the-scenes stuff to do before we're ready for that.

fray, I'm really, really sorry you've had to make your selections so many times. There was a flaw in the original design that prevented your selections from being saved if it took you longer than about ten minutes(!) to do so. I've extended that so it's now closer to an hour. (But of course for various reasons using the entire hour is probably not a good idea. When working with computers, "save early and save often.")
When it works properly, you should now see the new "begin signup" button. Clicking that will enable the various selections. When you click the "save" button, you should be returned to the events page and you should see your selections. If you don't, you'll need to do it again. (And feel free to curse my name while you're at it....)
