Has anybody got a healing potion? If not, then Nombir may have to back off, as another hit like the last one and he's down! Erizi isn't too good either if I've understood him correctly?

The Exchange

Zaid is down 2 hp after the channel;

The badger's Ref bonus is +5, so can we say he safely lands on the table next to one of the pugs?

bite attack: 1d20-1=18, 1d20-1=15
bite damage: 1d3+3=5

I rolled the acrobatics checks and the badger is fine. Gave him +4 and didn't roll a 1.

The rabid badger bites apart the first pugwampi in a shower of broken bloody limbs.

The Exchange

Everyone, if your characters wish to shout and talk to each other then do so. In character please. Less telepathy please.

Delay to Zaid's round am trying to protect him from anything that may come down the corridor, basically acting as bait, am not a close cramped quarter gal lol give me wide open terrain.

The Exchange

Zaid's go.

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

Zaid shoots another dart of acid at the last pug.

ranged touch: 1d20+3=10, 1d20+3=16

The Exchange

The lapdog gremlin grins as Zaid's acid bolt sizzles past his cheek. But the badger and other dangers make it frown. Seeing Zaid now in the doorway it leaps up back onto the high shelf and tries to climb out of a small hole in the kitchen ceiling. Unfortunately it is rubbish at climbing and scrabbles around, eventually ending up back on the shelf.

"Jerki!" it swears.

Erizi is twenty feet from the gremlin, Shimei fifteen. The badger only five on the table. Nombir is back in the mess hall and Zaid and Zsithreminni are in between in the hallway.

Round Seven, Seven the sign of ill omen in the deserts.

Erizi, Nombir and Shimei.

Note that because of the difficult terrain and Shimei being in front, Erizi cannot get a charge in.

Erizi closes on the remaining pug...intending to hit it so hard it removes the memory of its existence from the world.

Reflex Save (1d20+3=12, 1d20+3=8)

Earthbreaker attack (1d20+ 7=24, 1d20+ 7=18)

Earthbreaker Damage (2d6+7=13)

The Exchange

Difficult terrain = no attack this round when moving twenty foot. Each square costs double. Let's save those rolls for next round, unless the pug escapes..

Male Human Cleric 2

Nombir moves into the hallway behind Zaid. not much else I can do unfortunately guys

male; F +8, R +4, W +3 Human (Garamundi); AC* 17/14/13 or 19/14/15 (* When raging -1) HP 68/55(+8), Rage 14/7, Init +3, PER +8 Barbarian / Titan Mauler / 4; CMB +8, CMD 22

Erizi steps as close as he can feeling very normal instead of heroic, and wishing life was mapped out in 5' squares so he could know what he can accomplish

Shimei steps forward and to the right. Loosing another arrow as he goes.

Foot damage save, attack roll 1 and 2, damage (1d20+2,1d20+3, 1d20+3, 1d8+1=[20, 2], [15, 3], [8, 3], [5, 1]) Saved versus foot damage, 11 to hit, 6 damage if I hit.

The Exchange

Shimei narrowly misses the pug, its a shame but he paid so much attention to that broken glass in the shape of a dagger. At least he is alive and well, but the pug may escape soon.

Zaid and then Zsithreminni.

The pug's eyes bulge out happily as the badger winks out of existence. He capers in delight and looks up at the daylight showing above.

Go figure Erizi, DMing this is a darn sight easier than playing it.

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

"Don't let it get away!"

Zaid tries to shoot yet another dart of acid at the pug, but sneezes just as the spell is about to let loose, throwing his aim way off.

"F*@$" he mutters in an uncharacteristic display of profanity.

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

Message board problems, here are the rolls:

Ranged touch attack: 1d20+3=15, 1d20+3=5

Do i have a clear line of site towards the pug that Zaid was aiming for if so CHARGE the runt.

The Exchange

Zaid Al-Mahaudin wrote:

Zaid's acid bolt sizzles 30 feet across the room and burns into the pugs back. damage please.

Zsithreminni - no one can charge through difficult terrain.

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

Acid damage: 1d6=6

No unluck?

The Exchange

Zaid is just out of range of the unluck.

The pugwampi slumps down on the shelf as its back bubbles and froths. The acid kills it stone dead. A small plate falls from the shelf and smashes into the debris below.

As everyone breathes a collective sigh of relief, the distant patter of baboon feet goes away.

Everyone gets 240xp for killing the baboons and pugs. Plus a bonus of 10xp for consistent posting which kept things flowing well. Equals 250xp each, well done.

Male Human Cleric 2

Nombir pats Zaid and the back. "Well done my friend". He then talks to the whole party. "How are we all doing?"

"Was rather interesting ,those pugwampi critters are a pain. I think we should hold up here for a few hours to let the warrior types get some energy back before continuing, may be a good idea to search the rest of the ruins too, whilst the sun is high in the sky would be good to stay in the shade here."At least hope there is some shade looking up towards the roof.

Nombir Kadesh wrote:

"I am fine." Shimei replies distractedly. He is still looking at the pugwampi corpses with an arrow nocked. After a few seconds, he turns to look at Nombir and the party and his brow furrows. "But you are hurt. And Erizi too."

Zsithreminni wrote:

Shimei grunts at "rather interesting", but nods. "We should make sure of the dead pugwampis and baboons first. I could pray for the Bow-father's blessing. If we are favored, it might help restore the injured. The baboons were very loud. Anyone else here will be alerted to our presence. We should move on."

FW, anything we can use to clear a path to the pugs without taking foot damage? Guys, offering to channel energy for benefit of the wounded.

The Exchange

Now that combat is over you can safely move around the kitchen by clearing a path or two.

Carefully brushing aside the sharp junk on the floor, Shimei makes his way across the floor and makes sure the pugwampis are dead.

His previous offer to channel still stands.

"My body will heal itself in a few days time, but if there is to be more combat this day...any healing would be welcome", Erizi mumbles, not used to asking for help from anyone.

Erizi the Landless wrote:

"Wait a moment, then." Shimei replies. He shuffles over and knifes the pugwampi's to insure that they are dead, then returns to the group.

Holding his bow high, he calls for the Bow-father's blessing and aid for the party. Personally much refreshed, he asks, "Is anyone still injured?"

1d6=5 Channel energy to heal everyone 3 hp.

male; F +8, R +4, W +3 Human (Garamundi); AC* 17/14/13 or 19/14/15 (* When raging -1) HP 68/55(+8), Rage 14/7, Init +3, PER +8 Barbarian / Titan Mauler / 4; CMB +8, CMD 22

Not sure if you healed 5-hp or 3?, so I either have 11 of 23 hp's, or 13 of 23 hp's, so I'm at about half strength. We can go forward, but I'll have to take it easy.

The Exchange

I am guessing that 3 is a typo and should be a 5. But 13 hits isn't great.

Sorry bad transcription of channel energy rules had me thinking I needed to divide by 2 and round up. No idea where I got that. So 5 healed.

After finishing the pugwampis, Shimei returns to the group. He notices Erizi still looks shaky. "Erizi, come here. Pray with me. Bow-father, whose name is hidden, we seek to follow your will and renew the shining city. Help my brother-in-arms Erizi. Give him the strength and endurance for your work. As you will."

1d8+1=7 Cure light wounds.

The Exchange

The pugwampis are indeed dead. As far as making this a base of operations, this kitchen is serviceable, same with the mess hall. The roof needs a bit of repair but nothing too drastic.

Due to the amount of debris cluttering the kitchen, it would take the party a few minutes to search this place.

What next folks?

" I don't mind staying in here and having a good nosey about, I think I have a keen eye for those things that may seem to be missplaced and if there is anything in here I'm sure I can acquire it for us."

She says with a smile.

"Thank you priest". "Your god is generous with his healing, Erizi grumbles". "I will have your back".

"Perhaps we could use the mess hall to rest up", Erizi states turning to face the rest of the party. "Maybe we could use these tables to barricade the door"?

Zsithreminni wrote:

"Do as you will, lady, " Shimei replies, "Although if you can find something useful among this mess, your eyes are keen indeed."

Erizi the Landless wrote:

"So we help each other. Good." Shimei considers Erizi's plan. "The mess hall would be better than this. At least the floor is clear. But I think we should press forward. Any others who live here must have heard us and may be preparing defenses or even an attack now."

Shimei looks over the rest of the party.

FW, burnt Shimei's entropic shield spell for Erizi's cure light. How's Nombir doing? Is he visibly shaky or damaged?

Then he goes to reclaim any good arrows. (17 left)

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

"I also think we should press forward."

Even though he is out of 1st level spells

Male Human Cleric 2

"I feel much better now thanks Shimei". Nombir turns to the rest of the party. "How many healing potions do we have if any?"

Nombir has used is healing for today

The yellow cur slinks into the mess hall, panting heavily, and looks around. After nosing at people's legs, he trots into a shaded corner and flops onto the stones.

Shimei still has a channeling and a first level spell left which I'm happy to use for anyone who needs it, but a PC needs to ask him or a player to describe a wound he can see so that he knows to cast it.

The Exchange

I am not a stickler for keeping track of arrows. Usually I'd just say that 50% of those used are now broken when you search.

Almah mentioned in passing that she has a small stock of such useful items like torches and arrows. Also although many gnolls favour the javelin, some are expert archers too.

It is early afternoon now and the air is not dry and warm under cover of the ceiling. Anyone stepping under the light coming through the hole in the roof feels their skin start to heat up.

The Exchange

Decision time, chaps, carry on or rest in the Mess hall.

Male Human Cleric 2

" Upon reflection, I think we should rest and regain our strength and spells, as we are very low on healing and Zaid is pretty much out of spells".

Male Human (Keleshite) Wizard (conjurer) 2

"Since you put it that way Nombir, as eager as I am to press on, resting is perhaps the wisest decision."

male; F +8, R +4, W +3 Human (Garamundi); AC* 17/14/13 or 19/14/15 (* When raging -1) HP 68/55(+8), Rage 14/7, Init +3, PER +8 Barbarian / Titan Mauler / 4; CMB +8, CMD 22

"Then we shall rest". "I should be good to go tomorrow". Let's set up our watch schedules".

"Let us rest if you all say it so, but it is foolish to stay here, so close to potential enemies, without a least scouting the area. Perhaps we should withdraw."

Male Human Cleric 2

"Shimei is right. We should rest in an area we can defend".

male; F +8, R +4, W +3 Human (Garamundi); AC* 17/14/13 or 19/14/15 (* When raging -1) HP 68/55(+8), Rage 14/7, Init +3, PER +8 Barbarian / Titan Mauler / 4; CMB +8, CMD 22

"Does no one listen to a slave"? Erizi growl's angrily. "I just suggested we should barricade ourselves in the Mess hall with the tables". "To whom should I give the note stating that, so they can take credit for the idea"?

Erizi then storms off to the mess hall to try and begin making it secure.

"Would you sleep in the lion's den? Suppose there are more baboons or pugwampy nearby. These two may be missed, and their tribe come seeking them.

" You are right. We need to rest. We might linger here an hour or two, but longer would invite attack. "

male; F +8, R +4, W +3 Human (Garamundi); AC* 17/14/13 or 19/14/15 (* When raging -1) HP 68/55(+8), Rage 14/7, Init +3, PER +8 Barbarian / Titan Mauler / 4; CMB +8, CMD 22

"Easy to say when it is not your blood spilled upon the ground". "I want these things dead as much as anyone, but we are injured, and out of spells".

"I would stay in a Lions den if he wasn't in it, and I could barricade him out, before I would try to track him down with limited resources".

"Why don't you go hunt them down, and kill them"? "What is the name of your nearest kin, so I can deliver your belongings to them when I find your corpse"?

"Perhaps you should pray to your god for wisdom, instead of healing".

Male Human Cleric 2

"If the mess hall is thev easiest place to defend, then lets rest there! So long as there is no hole in the roof or more than two entrances/exits". "We'll be here all night talking about it at this rate!" says Nomir exasperated. He then moves to help Erizi barricade the mess hall.

Shimei is working up a sharp retort to Erizi, when Nombir breaks in. Camping here seems to be the will of the party. He considers hiking out alone to another campsite, one unlikely to be attacked by the derelict temple's other inhabitants, but remembers the caution's of Almah's majordomo.

Grumbling under his breath to the Bow-father and the yellow dog, he follows Erizi and Nombir to help.

Looking at the rapport led by Erizi she decides it would be best to follow the majority of the group.Thinking to herself"His tongue seems to be sharper and quicker than his sword I best be careful lest I awaken the angry beast within him."She proceeds to follow after Shimei, scimitar drawn and glancing back over her shoulder

The Exchange

Could someone roll me three d20s please and also sort out a watch system for the rest period. Needs to be a twenty four hour period for everyone to get their spells back. But you don't need to sleep for all that time.

Erizi is pretty fired up and with the help of Nombir and then the others the tables are soon stacked up across the entrance. There is a small window high up but unless you were a monkey or a gremlin you would never manage that climb or gap.
