Aerflae looks at the scene before him quite confused over why someone is angry over spilt ale.

Take a look at the spoiler ^ above.

Twitch it seems it is your Init. The two men are going at it, but strangely no one else in the place is doing anything about it or rather getting involved in the least bit. In any establishment of this nature you have been in, let alone a dwarf bar this is as good an excuse as any for a bar fight. No one looks ready to do anything. what is your action?

DM Jester - Could I get an answer to my question above? It will effect what I do. Thanks.

The ruckus of the imminent barfight is finally enough to pull Garyd's attention from his mother's letter.

"Whoa. A tussle."

"I swear that mug moved itself, aaand now there's a bar fight. Why, no matter what inn we go into, there's always a bar fight! Just once I want a drink in peace!"

Puzzled at the lack of enthusiasm shown by the other patrons, Twitch slips down from his chair and makes his way to the wall, close to the door leading out to the main street. Leaving his weapons drawn, he sweeps his gaze across the room, watching the other patrons in case the half-hearted bar fight is merely a distraction for something else.

Perception check if needed. (1d20+20=23)

Everyone seem to be patiently trying to ignore the fight.

Magnus it seems it is your turn. the two men are tryign to beat each other to a pulp.

Was it a spell or a ghost or other?
It didn't look like either man did it, right?
I plan on breaking it up.
Gent wrote:

Spoiler:

Sorry I did not notice this at first. There is an aura: enchantment here, it is lingering. Spellcraft reveals nothing. No spell. No spell like ability. Neither man did it.

Male Dwur (Dwarf) Cleric 10

Magnus will get and try to interpose himself between the two fighiting, "Gents thar ain't noe reason ta be fighting o'er a spilt beer, now I sugest ya stop yer brawling afor my vows force me to stop the both of ya. Now sit on down and have the barkeep pour ya another round".

They push and fight around you oblivious to your words. Fire gleams in the sheer hate almost glowing from their eyes.

Garyd it is your action, what do you do?

Male Oeridian Human Runeblade 6/Duelist 4

Garyd stands, "Gentlemen, I am ashamed to call myself a son of Istivin if this is how patriots behave. Has our apetite for bloodshed returned? After such a hardwon campaign we turn on ourselves?"

He walks toward them, "Are your greivances more severe than a spilt drink? If so, tell me what they are so we can assess them. If not, step outside to finish this for some of us are weary and wish respite."

Garyd smiles, "And some are bored and wish to see others fight."

Diplomacy: 1d20+10+4= 21

Though some of the patrons look up to you, Garyd and seem to acknowledge your words the men still seem intent on doing as much damage to each other as possible.

I am sorry it is actually Korren's action. What do you do sir?

Korren stands up and turns towards the two arguing men, scowling.

"Listen you two. The sun rose less than an hour ago, it's too early for this, so Pelor help you if you don't either take it outside or shut up!", he yells.

Intimidate: 1d20+12=23

Korren, you notice that several of the other patrons jump and move out of your way. The two men who are fighting however seem lost in their bloodlust and are oblivious to anything but the apparent death of the other.

It is now, Tevin's action, what is your cohort doing Gent?

Tevin wait for Gent.

Seeing how there are others trying to break up the fight Gent says to Tevin, "Go and help them break that up, would you."
Gent casts detect magic.

Tevin moves to the man closest to him, stares at him, and attacks him. to hit: 1d20+10=12 doing SUBDUAL damage of damage: 1d10+4=5.

Aerflae, you see the others either try to calm them down, yell at the two, or actively try to interpose themselves between the men when a dwarf you came up from the river walks up and smacks the larger of the two on the side of his temple. While it does seem like the man felt that blow, the madness and sheer bloodlust has not left his eyes. What is your action?

Gent while Tevin's blow upon the mans head seem to have struck hard and deep the big tanner just doesn't seem to care so intent is he on reaching his foe. You see a lingering aura of enchantment in the room and the only thing you can describe it as is a sickly green it is unlike any magick's that you have seen before, and it engulfs the room, all but your companion, those with whom you came here with and yourself.

after several moments of inactivity she blinks and..
Darazi the bartender
"Take it Outside!"
and slowly starts to go around the bar staring with disbelief at what is transpiring.

Dracus the leatherworker

"I will Kill you...."

He then proceeds to pick up a chair and hit Olaf the tanner, upside the head with it.
1D20 +4,-4 to Hit
6 Damage

As the chair explodes around him, shards of it hit those nearby, and with it blood from his nose and face.

Olaf the tanner

Grunts "Dat der waz me noz." and spits out blood.
He pulls his chisel from his tanners leathers and stabs downward in powerful but unwieldy arc.
18 to hit
Stabbing deep within Dracus' shoulder.
5 Damage
Leaving a viscous wound in his arm and with an audible snap the chisel seems stuck in the bone.

Twitch it is once again your action. Blood is on the floor and these men seem oblivious to reason.
Stranger still all but the bartender seem unwilling or unable to do anything about it. And she is moving quite slowly that way.

Male Halfling Rogue - 10th

"This is not right," mutters Twitch to himself. Still reluctant to get involved until he knows what's wrong, he awaits further developments, scanning the crowd for anything suspicious.

As long as the brawl is just the two of them, Twitch isnt going to get involved - he's just watching the room. If it spreads, or if he notices anyone else acting strangely he may take action.

Everyone is acting strange. When you first entered this room it was ok. Nice for a dive bar. Very dwarven in its theme and display. functional chairs without excess adornment, nice solid tables. now the place just reminds you of a death trap in the deepest of dungeons.

Magnus You are covered with broken chair and have some of the blood of both men upon you. Your getting the feeling they will not respond to any reason.
It just simply happened too fast and now the blood lust is in both their eyes. You have seen that look before, in battles fighting the giants when someone can no longer control their own actions in a battle. They tend to do the most deprived things to their foes and if they are lucky someone will kill them before they fight another on the battlefield.

Thinks to himself, this is one of the weirdest situations he has seen.

Male Dwur (Dwarf) Cleric 10

"They'er possesed, knock them out before they kill each other".

Subdual attack on the closest one, first attack=28 damage=6; second attack=19 damage=7

smack down on Olaf the tanner (punch Olaf twice)

Male Moon Elf Wizard 1

DM

Spoiler:
Aerflae is watching, and will use a wall of force to keep them separated as need be. NOTHING physically harmful.

Aerflae watches with astonishment. This should not be happening, he thinks.

"Children, relax, lest we all be burnt asunder by your foolishness."

He begins a quiet incantation.

Male Oeridian Human Runeblade 6/Duelist 4

Garyd tries to restrain the leatherworker after he is separated from the tanner.

"Calm yourself! Are you mad?!"

Several things seem to happen all at once.

Magnus sucker punches Olaf twice in the gut. He drops like a rock at Tevin's feet. Between the blood dripping from his shoulder and the punches from both dwarves, he stands no longer.

A brilliant blue flashes across the room pushing tables chairs and people either left or right, dividing the room neatly in half separating the two combatants.

Dracus beets upon this now invisible wall between him and his target. Garyd holds him tightly speaking to him, and for the first time you see the blood lust fade from his face.
Gent

Spoiler:

While at the same time Gent who is watching the magic play across the room see's the strange magick the was sufficing the room leave, as though a rumor chasing the wind.

Aerflae

Spoiler:

You have never seen your [i]wall of force
spread so fast or cover so much room before. It is much larger then you expected, or have ever cast before.

People stand and move for the first time, as if they are all at once in control of their minds. People move back away from the combatants, scream for the first time in fear, and make very much a ruckus.

Dracus the leatherworker
“What, what, what's going on? Olaf?”

Darazi the bartender

Runs right into the wall of force now separating he establishment

“Ow, ok who the HELLS is going to tell me what is going on here?”

Male Moon Elf Wizard 1

Once Aerflae's sure that everything's calm, he'll drops the Wall of Force. He then casts a second quiet incantation...

Aerflae speaks as he concentrates across the room, looking around in a wide arc.
"Sorry about that, folks. I'm not particularly interested in watching others beat themselves into a bloody stupor, let alone into such a sorry state" Indicating the unconscious body on the floor as his eyes pass over it. "Ms. Darazi, I believe that these two owe you a chair as well as the rest of the bar a round of drinks once we've figured out what just happened. As to the wall you just ran into, I'm terribly sorry about that, but I was just trying to stop the needless violence, especially at this early hour."

DM:
Aerflae casts Detect Magic
Spellcraft check to identify any schools active or recently active other than the obvious Conjuration using both this roll and the Detect Magic: 1d20+18=25

"Well, that was interesting", says Korren uncertainly. He then walks over to Twitch. "Second strangest bar fight we've ever seen, don't you think?

Male Dwur (Dwarf) Cleric 10

Magnus kneels over Olaf and begins a healing prayer. Pulling the chisel from Olaf's arm and staunch the flow of blood until bone and flesh are healed. "by M's grace I mend the wounds inflicted upon you, praise by the maiden of valor".

I throw a couple lg cures on Olaf to bring him around.

"Now can anyone tell me what going on?"

Darazi the bartender
~gives a long hard look at the two of them~
“Well?”
Dracus the leatherworker
“I don' know, it happen in such a blur Olaf, I mean we had not been getting' along as of late but I would never....”

Olaf the tanner
“moan...”
~looks up at Magnus~
“huh?”

Mitzi the waitress
“I donna know whose gonna clean up dis mess, not gonna be me. Though iffn da fight'ns done I will hand out a beer to any who canna help with de mess. If thas ok Ms.?”

Darazi the bartender
~Looks hard at everyone~
“I think dat be a lovely Idea lass. Lovely. In fact who ever gets the blood offa the floor can have a bottle to take wit dem.”

Aerflae
You notice no residual magic in the room. But as an elf you have been trained to look for more then auras when searching for magic. There is an unnatural quality to the air here. You did not notice before you cast your spell. A tingling sensation and a smell like ozone.

Gent
The wall of force that went up and then down again covered up any residual magic in the room and the presence you felt, the strange aura you saw, seems to have completely fled from this room. You have only seem this once before when the eldritch magicks were used in the Tower of Time to peirce the veil and ask question of the powers that be.

Male Moon Elf Wizard 1

"I'll take a rag or anything else you've got, as I don't terribly like the idea of leaving a bar like this. If you've any clear liquors and a small amount of water, I'll use those to help get rid of the blood. I believe Magnus could use a bottle of liquor after that scuffle"
Aerflae grins, then turns to Olaf and Dracus.
"So, children, what caused this schoolyard scuffle gone wrong? Why were you not getting along?"
Turning towards Darazi and Mitzi:
"My aim is to help make this fine establishment as close to normal as it was before you two decided to off one another, and you" handing a rag to Dracus "can help me with getting your blood off of the floor until you can come up with a suitable answer. Start scrubbing." Aerflae commands, as he himself prepares a rag and gets started himself. As he's scrubbing the floor, he looks towards Darazi and says "I'm sorry for the use of my magics without permission in your establishment, Ma'am."

Aerflae will be watching Dracus for any signs of a bloody rage, or anything else that may have caused this behavior, Olaf is already... predisposed he sees.

DM: rolls for if this is something that would have been naturally occurring, or if there is an Arcane or Divine reason for such things to occur... as well as the smell.

Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20+18=22

Mitzi brings you a rag Aerflae smiling at you as she does. She throws another into Dracus' face.
“Here dis is fer you.”

Dracus the leatherworker

“I don't know why we were not getting along. It's just one of those things, one day we just didn't want anything to do with each other. I don't know why. And then the beer, I just don't know.”

Olaf the tanner

Olaf looks up at you Magnus, the look of utter shock and dawning understanding.

“It doesn't make any sense.”

Darazi the bartender
“I will gladly go and get a bottle of the good stuff”

Aerflae

Spoiler:

Knowledge (Arcana): Only powerful ancient magicks could cause this sensation. You had an instructor once who opened a portal using powerful eldritch sorceries. You felt the same things then. He had opened a portal to the shadow realms.
Knowledge (Nature): Remembering all your lessons on the natural world there is not a single instance that comes to mind that can relate.
Knowledge (Religion): Years ago there was a portal to the demonweb pits anything could have been left over from that conflict.

Male Moon Elf Wizard 1

To Dracus
"I'm quite sorry, but 'just not getting along' isn't an answer as to why you tried to kill another person who works with tanned flesh. Yes, competition is fierce nowadays, especially in such lands as this, but murder is not appropriate for anyone. So, let's start at the beginning of your morning...
You come to have breakfast with Olaf the Tanner, with whom you don't get along.
You kill said tanner, leaving whatever witnesses in the bar.
You get away with murder and profit from increased tanned goods for sale?"

Aerflae sighs, knowing full well that it's illogical as well as a rather dark theory for this hour.

"You know very well that you didn't come here to kill him and I know it, too. It just doesn't add up. Tell me, whose faith do you count yourself with?"

Sense Motive on the question of faith: 1d20+1=2
Player reaction to the roll above:

Spoiler:
Well that was pointless.

Once the blood is cleaned from the floor, Aerflae will inquire as to the normal price of the "good stuff" for Magnus, in case he wants to come back for more later. He'll leave Dracus to his own devices, unless anyone else wants to talk to him.

To Magnus and Korren, but not hiding anything
"Perhaps we should find somewhere private to speak, something is... different with this situation. I am absolutely certain that these men had nothing to do with their actions," Aerflae says, then lowers his voice. "They were merely a distraction of some sort, or perhaps a prelude to something worse. We shall discuss this shortly, but now I would like to finish my breakfast."

Aerflae sits back down to his now cold eggs and ham, and takes a large drink of the milk before getting started.

"I was thinking exactly the same thing, at least everyone is fully clothed this time." frowning slightly as he grows more serious, he continues talking to Korren in a low voice as they return to their table. "It seemed pretty obvious to me they werent in control of themselves - I assumed it was some sort of spell, but I couldn't spot anyone working any obvious magic."

Gent comes over to the group.
"I saw what happened. The mug slid across the table by some magic force. Neither man did anything with the mug. There was a foul magical presence about the room and about almost everyone in it. My companion Tevin, and I, and this group indicating the other PC's were not affected. We tried to break up the fight but it looked like you two indicating the brawlers were possessed.
