Just wondering if his perception should be higher than what I calculated using his ability scores. The 3.5 Raven has Spot +5 and Listen +3, probably due to a racial bonus, but the srd and MM are silent as to why these are so high. We aren't able to see the Pathfinder version of the Raven yet, so just wondering.

Also, a raven will probably have a racial fly skill and bonus, though there is no way to really know this right now.

It may not be important at this point and we can wait till the Pathfinder bestiary comes out. Otherwise, I will be happy with any ruling you would like to make on it.

Grand Lodge

How about a +1 Racial bonus to Perception, with a +2 sight-based bonus - gives +3 Perception (+5 sight).

We won't worry about Fly for now.

Shadow Lodge

I apoligize for snooping Dark Minstrel, but how do you have both a familiar and a Arcane Bond Ring? Are you trying to decide which to use?

Hehe not sure really. ) Can you only have one or the other? If so I will keep the ring, less to worry about.

Sounds good, though it may be a moot point if you can only have the Arcane Bond or the familiar. Looking it up now...

Oops, I guess I did not look at that well enough. It is either/or, so I will modify my sheet to correct that and remove the familiar. Thanks for catching that DB.

Sorry for troubling you over nothing Scribbling ;-)

No problem, I was just curious. And on a side note, I prefer familiars.

I love this pbp!

It's all heartwarming now. :)

Liberty's Edge

Where'd everybody go?

It might be an end-of-month bump hitting a lot of people. I know that's what happened to me this weekend. ;)

Same here. But I'm healing from a injury I obtained after I tried activating a wand with the wrong command word... ;)

The same every year, shortly before GenCon - somehow everybody has time issues :)

Grand Lodge

Sorry folks.

Dealing with some home issues, some bureaucratic issues, some work issues, some GenCon prep issues.....

Will post meeting with Almah as soon as I catch my breath.

Minstrel and DB3 should be ready to go.

Grand Lodge

Once again, my profuse apologies.

I have been dealing with a personal situation since mid-May, and it has often left me with little motivation to do anything, especially if it involves mental effort. It is not something that I am comfortable discussing on the boards yet.

I did not want the game to have a third GM in such a short time, so I have tried to muddle through, with varying success.

Next Wednesday, I am headed to GenCon. Should be returning the following Monday.

With luck, much will be resolved shortly after my return.

My hope is to move things forward a bit, allow you some time for interaction with the new characters, and then pick up the pace once I am back and settled.

By then, I will have my spiffy new PRPG hardcover, and we can discuss what we rules we wish to use going forward.

Don't worry about us Scribble. Please take all the time you need, alright? We understand. :)

Best luck and wishes! And hope you have a good time at GenCon!

Liberty's Edge

Male Drow

No problem Scribbling. Take care of your personal business, once you are ready we will be here. And let us know how Gencon was when you are back!

Shadow Lodge

I agree with Paine and Minstrel, it's okay.

Also, bring pictures of GenCon back and post them, since I can't make it... :(

Liberty's Edge

I'm jealous that you get to go to GenCon - I was laid off a bit over a month ago and am wallowing in debt and lack of income...so no fun trips for me.

Anyways, you know we're a patient lot around here and understand whatever life throws you is more important than playing a game here. Heck I still worry about Mal and hope he's doing ok dealing with whatever he's dealing with, but hold no grudge against either of you when you can't post regularly.

Grand Lodge

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone.

Will give a full GenCon report on my return. Very busy this year.

Grand Lodge

Larry, my deepest sympathies for you and your wife.

While no words from us can truly help, please know that we are all thinking of you.

We will keep your spot warm, should you feel like returning.

Liberty's Edge

Wow...as a father of three, I can't imagine how difficult losing a child like that would be. My heart goes out to you and your wife. Don't worry about the game here - it'll be slow for awhile anyways during gencon and then while we try and figure out what to do with converting characters to final rules.

I do appreciate you taking the time to let us know what happened. I wish there was something we could do to help. Anyways, take care. Maybe Kara will have a song for you when you get back.

Larry, if there is anything we can do, if you need to talk to someone, please let us know okay?

We'll be here for you if you need us.

Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife.

I will be a regular poster again after the 28th, I may be spotty till then. A huge thank you for your thoughts!

Grand Lodge

Hey All,
I'm back, after GenCon and work craziness.

Let's get this party rollin!

Glad to see that you'll be back soon, Larcifer!

Grand Lodge

Something for us to think about:

Will we be "upgrading" to the final PFRPG rules?

My feeling is that we should, and that we should do it when the characters reach level 2, for ease of conversion. But I am certainly open to input from everyone. Do you all have a copy of the rules?

Speaking of levelling, you should now each be at 465 xp (265 from Mal, 200 for the scorpions and stirges). For simplicity's sake, Thadeous and Azten are at the same amount.

Upgrading at second level is a good idea. It will make the transition go more smoothly. I have the new rules.

Shadow Lodge

I have access to the PRD.

I'd just as soon all upgrade right now, unless there's something that would break the way your character is currently built. For instance, if I were to try to get that goat back to camp using my bard song the whole way again, I wouldn't be able to with the final rules, but I'm ok with that.

Anyways, everyone has access to the final rules via Paizo's Game Reference Document. I've already converted Kara with it, it was quick and easy.

Liberty's Edge

Welcome back Larcifer! Glad you're with us.

Is Dryder around? I have a song for Mirama ;)

So are we going to upgrade?

Liberty's Edge

Hello? Anyone here?

Here for today. I'm thinking about heading for Eldritch Knight using Arcane Bloodline sorcer for the spells needed. Given, I could begin to craft the very items I am so dangerously curious about, even casting in armor thanks to the Arcane Armor Training/Mastery feats.

This all boils down to being a paladin of Sarenrae who uses magic both arcane and divine to protect people. I am also considering the Celestial bloodline, but am leaning toward Arcane for role-play reasons.

Thoughts?

Ps:I will be able to post more next week(Monday most likely), as I am on vacation and have little internet access. Thank you for your patience.

Grand Lodge

I'm good for upgrading, but I was waiting to get consensus from a few more of you.

We will switch once you have reached level 2.

Liberty's Edge

I'm driving to Denver tomorrow for a job interview and will have limited access to internet while on the road - but I'll set up while I'm there so I shouldn't be out of service too long. Hope this picks up again soon!

Grand Lodge

Sorry if my last couple of posts were a little railroady. Trying to get things moving again.

Liberty's Edge

male boring human Air-Traffic-Controler Level 10

is this pbp dead, or will it start again sometime soon?!

Liberty's Edge

Dryder wrote:

While I have hopes of it reviving soon, I'm not holding my breath. Between the original DM going MIA (twice) and now Valkeryie disappearing completely from the boards, I don't know if there's enough to keep it going. I certainly can't do it all with Kara alone - other people need to step up and post more often.

It's sad, because this has been my favorite PbP that I've ever been involved with, at least at first. I would like nothing more than for everyone to come back and rekindle some of that energy we started with.

Liberty's Edge

male boring human Air-Traffic-Controler Level 10

Yes, its sad! I really liked the interaction here. I almost didn't care if we made any story progress as long as we did interact the way we did. That was very cool ROLEplaying game and I would love to continue this...

Shadow Lodge

I'm still here, just waiting for us to get moving again.

I agree, I like this game. Good role-play, and fun dialogue all around made this an interesting game.

Grand Lodge

I am willing to try to keep going, if others are available. Can we have a role call?

I see DB3, Dryder and the Count. Are Larcifer, Minstrel, Val, or Craig out there?

I will warn you that I will be mostly unavailable the week of the 19th.

Liberty's Edge

male boring human Air-Traffic-Controler Level 10

Oh, so cool! Hey guys, go ahead and post!!!

Shadow Lodge

Um, since Paine seems to have vanished from the boards, who is Kara's 'master'?

Grand Lodge

Hey all, like I said before, I am tied up most of next week.

If we get a response from at least one of our absent friends, I will try to get things going again around the 25th or so.

I would suggest that Ikethru continue regardless, as you will need the healer.

I really hope Val comes back, because she's so much fun to play with and does amazing roleplaying, but you would DMPC her until then though, just to keep things moving?
