Be back in the morning, I'm a bit more tired than usual after school today.Ah, hadn't seen that, so missed the reference.
Police interview after a foiled mugging -
So, Mr. Blue, what do you do for a living?
Electro-lux salesman. I don't know what kind of vacuum you're using but the Electro-lux is the biggest sucker of them all.
interview continues
So what did you say you did for a living?
Airline pilot.
I thought you said you sold vacuums.
If you knew, why'd you ask me?
The superior smirk on DQ's face is classic PC.
Oh well, too much of an inside joke.

Thank you for explaining your joke, Emperor 7. :)
The Eighth Runelord has just removed the Messageboard Oracle's grave (and almost certainly a particular seed/nut which was planted nearby there) from the wreckage of Club Calistria, putting them 'out of play' for now, unless anyone needs them very badly. I may post a thread later or reveal what he did with them.
By the way, the collapse of the Palace of Skulls leaves that seed that one of Kobold Cleaver's aliases posted there growing in a desolate and unwholsesome swampland, does it not?

Runelord of Uncaring |

Uhhh...It's a magic flower. Yeah.
Kobold Cleaver:
With regard to the Carnival of Shadows & the Runelord of Uncaring's efforts, can't you find a priest of some LG deity of suffering & martyrdom such as Ilmater from the old edition Forgotten Realms to volunteer to take the boy's place; being tortured for however long it takes before the Carnival of Shadows becomes defunct to rescue the soul of a child might be within the bounds of what some zealots of the religion might be prepared to endure.
Yeah, I guess, it's just that technically, they both have their own definition of the rules, and that makes it a bit tough. However, the Runelord of Uncaring might get tired of his insisting on his interpretation and try it.

Hey guys, it looks as if I'm going to have to drop out. I just got a big promotion at work, which is great because it means more money for Paizo products. However, it also comes with a huge increase in work load which means I won't be able to check in as much. The rate the story is progressing, I don't want to hold anyone back. Thanks for all the fun times, I will still follow the story and see how things progress. If anyone wants to take over my characters, please feel free. I may be able to pop back in later when I get some experience under my belt, but for now, this has to be goodby.

lynora |

Congrats on the promotion, David. That's great. Although I'm sad you won't be able to continue to play. Still, I totally understand. And at least it's for a good reason :)
If you truly don't mind, I will probably take over Allura, just so Devlyn doesn't get cut out of the storyline.
I don't know what you want to do about the Jack of Tears. You could always leave Ash and the Giggler in charge of the carnival :) (frightening thought)

The actual title is Education Director, but yeah, it's pretty much the same thing.

Patrick Curtin |

Gratz David on your promotion to Education Director. We'll miss your input, but Real Life trumps.
On a similar note: I got the call today that I am being picked up at my job for the Spring. Ergo, after this upcoming week I will not have the overwhelming presence I did these past few months on the boards. A lot of my 'heavy hitters' are kinda going into holding mode in game anyway, so we'll see how things pan out.

Sunny Godhead |

Well, Lynora-Jill lost her connection to you, but Alaina's going to need a new patron soon, since Calistria used her like a Kleenex and tossed her away...
Okay. Sounds good. send on over with her credentials.
I can be contected at devilboy@anv.net
I'm off work for the next two days.

Who....what....where....when....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
(Joking, of course) :)News like that in a year like this is absolutely fantastic. Congrats on the promotion, David!!
I'm sorry we won't have the privilege of you being around as much, because it's been a blast for me; you've got my thanks for making it fun and engaging. I'll do my best not to let the Oasis get too messed up in your absence! :) (Translation: check back in from time to time to make sure I didn't screw something up royally ;D)

Thanks for keeping an eye out for me, lynora. :)
You don't have to do it, since you already have two major personas to wrangle with, but I would appreciate it [insert humble bow here].Echoing the concern about the Jack of Tears, how do we want to handle Sirone? Unlike with the Carnival, there really isn't anyone to step into her place (though she does tend to stay in the background, and could be left as a more passive presence). What do you think would be best?
(And if we need to take this off the boards to prevent spoiling anything, my email is: daehith@hotmail.com)

Um....motion denied!? Yeah, that's the ticket... :P
It looks like lynora has staked an initial claim on at least one of David's characters. I've just raised a question about Sirone as well.
I am so glad I had time to log in today - otherwise Monday would have been a big surprise! ;)
[EDIT]: Looks like we've got some dinner to cook, so I'll be signing off. 'Til the morning then! :)

It's no problem. I am frighteningly good at keeping track of multiple personalities ;) Running one more is not too difficult, especially to make it easier for you to stay in the game.
On a related note, with David stepping out, and Patrick not being able to post as often...WHo's running a bad guy? I've got Ash, but she's not so scary all by herself. And we'd be losing all of our big bads at once.

Well, Lynora already has Allura, but anyone else you want to use is fine, with one exception. I would like to keep Angel for myself in case I get a chance to pop in from time to time.

I should still be able to post fairly often, I just will be constricted to a few hasty posts in the morning and a window of 530pm-11pm eastern standard. I'm sure I will be on enough to run the Giggler and Innocent Blood.

Okay, well that's not so bad. It sounded like worse from your earlier post. Sounds like what we really need are some middling villains to keep people occupied while the big bads are busy :)

/\I got the Mask, but he's gonna be a guy who isn't intervening unless he's very interesting in something. Thus, the heroes won't fight him much (most likely). Candle Lighter is becoming pretty minor, though, so he should fit the bill. Not to mention the remaining Defectives. Like roaches, they are.

lynora |

With regard to the tears of Lynora Jill, this is part of a plan that the Eighth Runelord is trying to put in place for dealing with Calistria, if necessary, further down the line. Of course only he knows that, and Lynora Jill is free to distrust this offer and refuse.
Lynora-Jill has other issues right now. (Big burst of divine energy wreaks havoc with the system when it's already trying to absorb other divine energy.) But she would not object to her tears being used in this way. So if E7 or JH gave the go-ahead on this, that's okay.

lynora |

Just to clarify, the Star Song stuff pretty much just means that LJ can power her own divine spells. It just gives her her cleric abilities back. It can eventually grow into more, but that would be a gradual process. Standard spells may look a little odd because of how she draws on that power, but she's still pretty much just a high level cleric.

lynora |

Yeah I wanted Alaina to keep the clerical side, one reason having Sunny D as a patron should work for her. Plus she was never a real good herald for ol' Stingy ...
That works well for her. Because LJ had the divine powers from the goddess that I couldn't find a good story reason to get rid of, and the elemental powers, letting her get more divine energy from an outside source put her a wee bit over the top, power wise.

Sunny Godhead |

Sorry about dropping out the posts, but my blood sugar was dropping again and I needed to eat and sleep it off. I fell asleep for nearly four hours. Anyway I went to the mailbox and found a shiny new package today. My new copy of Pathfinder has arrived. Gonna do some reading tonight and hopefully my copy of Dragons Revisited will arrived soon too.
I was going to have the Lord of All Insects join the group, but given Alaina's last patroness, a wasp goddess, it doesn't seem like a good idea.
Anyway, I have an another board name I would like to use, so can I have him join the group soon. Oh if you need a villain, Alagathra the Sea-Lich is waiting in the wings too.

Charles Evans 25 |
My alias list has now almost reached double figures, Auruns the goblin having joined the ranks.
Auruns is the gecko riding goblin of the desert, whom I expect to show up again at some point in the future, and who has now attained 'name' status.
In theory he still counts as one of the Eighth Runelord's minions, but is probably slighty more capable (intellectually speaking) than most of them.
Yes he is sort of partially a spoof on Lawrence of Arabia - hence the name.

lynora |

As a matter of interest, who or what was responsible for the portal from the Records Room shutting down like that, so that if the opportunity arises I can harass them with the Witch Hunter General's Flunkie at some later point?
When the negative energy was released from destroying the book the hag was using to restore the evil goddess, it went to Innocent Blood. She's the one who shut down all the portals. Acme's death was not a conscious act, just a consequence of her shutting down all the portals so she could exsanguinate all the people trapped at Club Calistria.

Charles Evans 25 |
The WHG's Flunkie is currently going though the wreckage in the Records Room, and if portals have 'black boxes' or anything similar which keeps a record of their functioning, he will be very interested to retrieve it and analyse it if he can to try to work out what happened.
Tracing the source of the malfunction back to Club Calistra, given the approximate time frame, will point to just a couple of suspects....

lynora |

Was my last post by the Witch Hunter General invisible?
With regard to his fighting methods, he doesn't fight 'fair' having been dealing with evil witches and warlocks for years, and this is just his opening salvo; he's expecting at least several tricks or twists here from Ashaundra.
I saw it. Hence the parry. She's hardly going to fall for a trick she's used herself not that long ago.:)
Then again, she's not expecting him to be without resources, hence the comment about just in case she got lucky and actually hit him when she made her countermove.Edit: For a better visual description, essentially he dimension doored to behind her back and attacked. She parried, behind her back. Still facing away from him, but she heard a breath of air or whatever and instinctively brought her sword around to block. While in that process, she spun around and counterattacked. Hope that helps.

Charles Evans 25 |
The Witch Hunter General is probably a high level ranger with favoured enemies of various fiend and spell-casting types, and maybe a couple of levels in fighter and expert for the weapon specialisation and knowledge based skills.
At the moment he's partially watching for Ashaundra's reactions to his taunts, not quite sure if she knows what happened to his Flunkie or not.
