Conception starts on the 28th January and there are official games of Pathfinder Society happening. So I was just wondering who from these boards was going along?
I'm down to run some of the latest scenarios and will also try to run some of the older scenarios if there is interest.
Hope to see some of you from GenCon UK there.

I will be there. Which reminds me, I should get round to building a PFS character...
Are you there on your own or as part of a group? I'm going down with some people from my games club, but as far as I know, none of them are interested in PFS (and they certainly aren't on these boards).
I've been recruited to run some of the pathfinder slots and I'm going with a group of people, some have played a lot of pathfinder society, others very little or none at all. So I was thinking I might run a couple of scenarios outside of the official pathfinder society slots. Anybody interested is welcome to join those games.

Hi there fellow Pathfinders. I'll be along at Conception and particularly looking forward to the Pathfinder games.
I'm running 4 slots. "Slave Pits of Absalom" in Slots 1 and Slot 8, "Eye of the Crocodile King" in Slot 3 and "Stay of Execution" in Slot 7. We are playtesting "Stay of Execution" this Friday. It looks like a tricky one to run.
I'm also looking forward to playing the brilliant LIHR games on Friday.
I have a 3rd Level Rogue who is really keen to play the three Living Arcanis games. Slots 2, 4, 10. Anyone know of any vacancies?
See you there ...

Looks like Pathfinder is going to be popular at Conception then.

Rob, isn't Lihr a 2 slot game - slots 6 and 7 on Friday afternoon and evening?

Less than 48 hours to go! I'd better write my PFS character sheet out...
Wintergreen: I'm certainly interested in taking part in scenarios outside of the officially scheduled ones, time permitting.
Any tips on how to recognise any of you guys?
I hadn't heard of Lihr before; it seems interesting but it looks like I've missed the boat on getting involved with that one.

Hey Dragnmoon, that's a shame. Would have been cool to see you there.

The ones who are rabidly promoting Pathfinder Society!
I'll make sure I put up sign-up sheets for any extra pathfinder scenarios I'll be running. I've had a request for Mists of Mwangi.

Just thought I'd say hi to everybody who was at Conception, particularly those I hadn't met before. I had a great time and Pathfinder certainly seemed popular. I'd originally planned to run 3 or 4 games and I ended up running 7 games. Every pathfinder slot seemed to be oversubscribed.
A big thank you to those who volunteered to run additional games (my choice of Mists of Mwangi seemed to be popular for them).
Looking forward to the next one - maybe we should see about a UK Paizocon?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I second that! Well done Dave -- 7 slots, wow! I ran 5 and I was well burned out.
I ran a "Mists of Mwangi" and we had an orchestral session of throbbing drums (biscuit tins), beating of chests (males only), ook ooks, eek eeks, and aaaaargh aaaaarghs. Strange looks from the other games tables but good fun.
The Pathfinder games seem to attract the best roleplayers and I was well entertained by the players in every game. Russ' performing mule was a big hit. Big thanks to everyone, especially to Kithran who organised the roleplaying events with charm and panache.

Just thought id chime in and say me and my pals had a great time at conception, we managed to fit in 5 pathfinder scenairos and managed to reach the dizzy heights of lvl 3 : )
Thanks to Grant and Dan who seemed to be our personal DMs for the week!they did a fantatstic job : )
cant wait for more pathfinder goodness

Cheers Rob. 7 pathfinder slots plus co-GMing the two LIHR slots was pretty demanding, I must admit. But fun!
But everybody I talked to was full of praise for the pathfinder GMs and the scenarios themselves. I think this may have done even more than GenCon UK to establish Pathfinder Society here in the UK.
And I'll second the big thanks to all, particularly Kithran.

If you guys were able to set that up and able to get it out. *You have an email list of Gamers in that have been to UK Gencon and Conception?) Depending on the date I might be able to convince a few here in germany to go.
Road Trip!

I too had a great time; I had to leave on Saturday morning (due to a family emergency) but I managed to get to play all 4 officially scheduled scenarios. It was nice to be a player for a change, as normally I'm a GM for a CotCT campaign. I didn't manage to track down anyone offering to run any extra sessions, but as I was playing something in all but one of slots 1-7, I doubt I would've had time anyway!
I'll give a summary of my experiences, which I'll try to keep a spoiler-free zone...
Slave Pits of Absalom (slot 1): A solid introduction to PFS, although the ending left me a bit sour, as the final encounter(s) seemed phenomenally hard for a party of 6 PCs (half level 1, half level 2 IIRC). I'm not sure how a party of 4-5 level 1 PCs would cope. This was hardly helped by some Chelaxian scum playing dead to save his own skin! I also had no obvious way to achieve my faction mission, as it conflicted with another one that got completed first. My holier-than-thou character also had a number of differences of opinion with a couple of others, who seemed to be erring towards the evil side of neutral. I think Uzzy and Mastin who have posted above were in this session.
Eye of the Crocodile King (slot 3): I was concerned beforehand that a party of three clerics (inc. one dwarf), a dwarf fighter and a half-orc barbarian had limited options, and might struggle, especially with only one level 2 PC. As it was, we steam-rollered everything! The GM admitted afterwards that he'd boosted one of the encounters to make it slightly harder, but we still had few problems. We had some hairy moments in the final encounter, but all things considered we did well. It probably helped that we were all the same faction - go team Andoran! It may have been Rich2346 and his 'pals' that I played with on this one. If I was feeling a little down after the first scenario, I was far happier after the second.
The Third Riddle (slot 4): This one seemed to drag a bit, but that was in no way the fault of the GM or the scenario. I think most players had already done 4-8 hours of gaming that day by the time we started so fatigue was a factor, and we suffered from a bit of 'analysis paralysis' with the main section of the adventure; I think our lack of a rogue didn't help. Most players also found it difficult to make a meaningful contribution to the opening encounter. My character did make it to level 2 intact though! At the moment, I can't match anyone from the session up to someone on this board.
Stay of Execution (slot 7): This one was a lot of fun, and was expertly GMed by Angel Gabriel (Rob). I thought it had interesting NPCs, a real sense of danger, and was a very interesting premise all round. I'm not sure if we were even close to the intended course of events, but things seemed to work out OK!
All in all, a very enjoyable few days of gaming. In terms of factions, Andoran seemed to be well represented; only one of my sessions (Third Riddle) had a PC party that was less than 50% Andoran, and even then I wasn't the only one. As far as classes go, there seemed to be an abundance of fighters, rangers and arcane casters, and very few rogues or bards. I was the only cleric in three of the four scenarios I played.
It'd be nice to hear from anyone else who played in the same sessions; for anyone who isn't sure, I played a human cleric of Iomedae called Magnus.

![]() ![]() |

I managed to play all four scheduled slots and also to GM a slot for Mists of Mwangi - I had great fun on both sides of the screen. My thanks to the GMs, Players and of course those that take the time to write so creatively.
Edit: As Paz said above, I could not complete my mission in the Slave Pits due to another PC completing theirs and pocketing that which I needed...ah well I still had fun which is what's important

![]() |

I had a great time at Conception - I got to play all the scheduled games, plus Mists of Miwangi. And I managed to recruit a couple of new characters to the service of the Emperor, it would have been three if not for the interference of a vile Qadiran!
All the adventures where brilliant, though the faction mission for Mists seemed a little mundane compared to the others so far. But the rest of the adventure made up for that.
I'd definitely be interested in a Paizocon - I might not get to play again until Gencon otherwise.

ah hah it was indeed and I was that Dwarf cleric Torgar we did hurtle through that, but I thought we were going to die horribly in the last encounter. I wont spoil it but damn half orcs and their saves : )
go team Andoran ; )

I'm going to start up a thread to see if people are serious about this.

I too had loads of fun. Really good convention, played plenty of PFS and other games. Really good to meet so many of you and put faces to names. Sadly, I had to go back through London on Monday, meaning I had the full force of the snowapocalypse to deal with. Ah well, it was worth it.
As for a PaizoCon UK, I'd be up for that. Don't know when it could be held, or where, but I'd certainly try to attend.

I just checked my Pathfinder Society page, and clicked 'Sessions' for my character, and it says 'No sessions were found', even though I played four scenarios at Conception X over a month ago. Should I be concerned? Am I even looking in the right place?

Hi
Paz - I played number of PFS games at Conception (the main reason I went).
Did any of your groups include a Dwarf Druid (Oskar Treefriend) & his Wolf? (I'm the player with the walking-stick). Had plenty of good times in the scenarios - my thanks again to all the players, GM's & Kithran who organised the games.
Managed to play:
Scenario 08: Slave Pits (Made 2nd Lvl)
09: Eye of Crocodile King
11: Third Riddle
12: Stay of Execution (Made 3rd Lvl)
05: Mists of Mwangi (Not sure if this was Conception)
Looking forward to more games in London & conventions, Coach tickets permitting.....)
Cheers

I think I GMed Mists of Mwangi for you at Conception.
Paz: I don't think any of the Pathfinder games from Conception have gone up on the system yet. I don't know if Kithran has reported them yet or if the delay is at the Paizo end but you are looking in the right place.

So I can't go to PaizoCon UK because it is too close to GenCon Indy, but this one isn't. Would it be worth traveling from the Texas to the UK for this Con to play with you guys again?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hey Dragnmoon. We miss you! You are well remembered from GenCon several years ago. Conception is probably the best event in the UK [after PaizoCon UK of course] There are loads and loads of games of all genres. We plan to run Pathfinder games until our heads fall off, so there will be plenty of action. This is the one to come to the UK for. It;s also in the right corner of the country for Stonehenge, Avebuury, Bath, castles, cream teas.
Come and play, Come and GM. Come and have a beer or three. It's a very friendly event. Be our Texan guest star. Wear a stetson.

I am not Texan... I just live here, I am a from New York and will always consider myself a New Yorker ;-).
and wow that is coming up quick for pre reg... hmmm to soon to make that decision.

I would say that if you can't make PaizoCon UK then Conception is the UK convention to attend. But as Rob says, you have to be quick for booking on-site accommodation. We can guarantee loads of Pathfinder and many other games. And quite a few of us will be attending.

![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi
Yep - quite a few of us will be there....... (And a lot of PFS games).
If you can't commit just yet, you can still contact the organisers. Some people book the accommodation & can't fill their lodges, so there may still be some spaces left. (Just don't leave it too long).
We're a very friendly group - you'll certainly be made welcome.
Cheers
Paul H

I'm just in discussions here at home to get the okay to go. At that time there is school again and it was a mighty act to get everything organised for the two days at PaizoCon UK in regard of having cover for the kids.
As it looks I'm likely to book some accommodation and closer to the event I will know if Jaz will be able to come with me or not (the more likely option) and then I will ensure I post here for someone to take her place.

After a long discussion with my Nearest and Dearest, we have decided to come to Conception for the Saturday en masse.
I doubt I'll play anything but the idea is for one or two of the more socially acceptable gamers to be nice to her and so increase my chances of us all coming in 2012.
Now does anyone fit that bill (apart from Rob on the first day)?
Cheers
