I just got my PF17 today and immediately opened it up and read through the Calistria article (which I loved btw, she's one of my top three favorite deities alongside Iomedae and Norgorber). I was very disappointed not to see a PrC though. Considering the very 'unique' style these priests have a bard/cleric PrC just seemed almost a given.
I know not every deity gets a PrC, Lamashtu didn't get one. Cayden got two! Give us a good Paizo-crafted Sacred Prostitute class!

While it could be fun, it would not necessarily be such a good idea to make it a sacred prostitute, as it could turn down some buyers. I am not certain that everyone is very open-minded on this idea.
There is more to Calistria than just sex, too, she is also the goddess of trickery and revenge ... so it could be some kind of priestess/assassin, centering on the "wasp" theme, with plenty of poison, and the yellow and black clothing ... and then of course, they could "worship" all they want depending on your roleplay.
Mmm ... a sexy wasp assassin ... got me thinking ...
MWAHAHAHAHA ! Now I can have vengeance for all these poor monsters my players have killed over the years !!!!
VENGEANCE IS MINE !!!!!!

I think the red mantis would have something to say about that...

Yeah, but they don't have a monopoly on the assassination business.
besides, since it could be for religious motives, there would not necessarily be money or power issues.Assassin is maybe too narrow for the concept : since revenge is involved, it could be around the lines of publically humiliating the targets rather than killing them

Perhaps there is a Calistra demon called D'Hoffryn who wanders about granting Vengeance demon powers to hot wronged women?

What ends up in an article really depends on length. A pr-class takes up a lot of space, and given that Calistria has three different aspects and three different branches of the church, I felt it was more important to describe all of that than to put in a prestige class that might only serve one or two aspects of her faith.
So ... punish me. Tell me I'm a bad, bad boy.

Well you'll just have to write up THREE PrCs and post them here mister (or one PrC that branches all three aspects)! =p

~looks at you~ And why should we give you such pleasure. You do not deserve such pleasure! ~pulls out the whip~ Now get back to work, slave!!!

Yes, you are a bad, bad boy. Now where is my new +1 whip? (second darkness: children of the void) You will take the metal tip for lethal damage until a prestige class is written!

One more reason there's no Prestige Class... we're getting close to the release of the Pathfinder RPG, and it'd be nice if any prestige classes we print in Pathfinder up to then would be compatible with those rules. We only recently really figured out how prestige classes are likely to work in the PF RPG... but you'll not be seeing as many prestige classes in Pathfinders around this time as a result.
I'd love to somehow get prestige classes for Calistria and some of the other deities who got "skipped" out there though, but I'm still working on how that's gonna go.

Until then the Book of Erotic Fantasy has some decent PrCs that would work for a Sacred Prostitute. Shame that book was lambasted when it came out. It was actually rather tame and clinical. Just shows how much the industry fears sex.
Agreed. Much of the work in that book was readily acceptable under any other title (or indeed had little to do with the topic of the book beyond being a product of said actions), and some of it is actually available elsewhere. The metamagic prestige class was rather interesting I think.

I completely agree. What was really interesting was that the book pictured sex not in a goliardic or morbid way (the first example of the opposite that comes to my mind is Nymphology), but in a rather adult and mature fashion.
...I really didn't like the art, to be honest. ^_^

I love the BoEF. Our group usually breaks it open to punish any player who decides they want to bang every village girl they come across (STD chart is great). Some of the classes have great concepts, but mechanically they're rather awkward. The Kundala and Sacred Prostitute are both great examples of this. The Sacred Prostitute is a terrible PrC for any class that would want to take it, and would only be useful as a cohort for a spellcaster (yay sex for more spell slots!). The Kundala is like a monk, but without the unarmed damage increases (thus the unarmed strike stuff is useless very quickly), no AC bonuses and gets to Alternate Form at will, which is very broken.

Hmm...I actualy thought the book was done rather childishly...It's been a long time sense I've looked it over, but I distinctly remember being completely unimpressed. Some of the prestigue classes were interesting concepts, put poorly done. I remember a spell caster *not sure if it was a base class or prestigue* class that used con as it's casting attribute, with a really cool concept, but wasn't fineshed. I do remember really liking the fallen cherib though...that one I wish I would have wrote down...
Here's hoping prestigue classes in Pathfinder work how they were advertised when third edition first came out...:)
